  • to get the left shoulder more on plane has to do with keeping the target line just above your left shoulder in your backswing as you keep the position your hands are in at adress as it pertains to keepin your hands in front of your chest throughout the swing..sean is just helping tiger understand the atheletics of the golf swing..just like a jumpshot can have perfect form..so can a golf swing

  • the fuck is he talking about? how can your left shoulder stay more on plane?

  • @AlexH09 your shoulders can go over or under plane.

  • Tiger's going down the wrong path, lol

  • hate when people like mauricefameboy dis tiger. have you won majors?

  • This is the dumbest swing tiger can ever go with, he cant tilt his shoulders like that since his frame is to broad and muscular. Please leave Sean Foley before he totally screws up your game

  • He needs to go back to Butch Harmon and learn his instictive swing again. Its amazing that Tiger was dumb enough to change a coach that won him 8 majors in that short period of time and then go to Haney who forced him to have a horizontal swing plane which made him win less and now hes with Foley and his swing is totally screwed up that he cant even get into the top 5 of any tournament

  • @Gyro911 Tiger can't play with the swing he had when he was with Butch. It ripped his knee to shreds. Tiger also won a ton of majors with Haney as his coach, and absolutely dominated the game during their time together (remember his 7 win in a row streak?). It should be noted that if Tiger was putting anywhere near as good now as he was in his 99-2002 and 2005-2009 stretch, he wouldn't be in the funk he is in right now.

Most of the greats that ever played were always tinkering with their swing.

  • @MauriceFameboy Thats a bunch of crap. None of Harmon's students have knee problems (Mickelson,. Watney, Couples). Tiger gave himself that with improper training habits. Tiger lost distance after leaving Harmon which is the reason he no longer blew away the field with Haney. Hank screwed up his swing plane and Foley is making it more vertical but the shoulder rotation is idiotic for a guy of Tiger's build. His muscles will get in the way, his power needs to come from his legs and arms.

  • @Gyro911 Your argument is filled with absolutely nothing that can be verified. There are many reasons why Tiger lost distance at the same time as training with Hank (the knee, for example, could be a reason). Also, Hank did not screw up his swing plane. It was nearly perfect actually. The only problem that lingered was the driver, and if Tiger swung more with his legs and arms, the club would get even more stuck, therefore aggravating the problem. Butch is not the fix and never was.

  • @MauriceFameboy I came across this and have to say Tigers knee was a problem LONGGGG before Butch was around. Dont know where you got that info but Tigers knee would have needed surgery no matter who his teacher was.... most PGA pros suffer injuries and Tiger is no exception just because hes Tiger....... god I cant stand all the Tiger dick suckers........... is this how people defended Jack when he stpped dominating?

    Tigers struggling, get over it.

  • @marcusdolby1 For starters, I am curious what anything I have said would qualify me as a "Tiger **** sucker"? I have only stated fact, and for the record, my information came from Tiger himself. Watch the 2011 Augusta national interview with Tiger. A reporter asks why he doesn't adapt his swing from 2000 and he replies that he can't swing like that anymore as it blew out his knee.

Butch Harmon's tendency as a coach is to work with the player's natural swing, which Tiger can't do.

  • @marcusdolby1 As a final point, I disagree with your point regarding Tiger's knee needing surgery no matter the teacher. Each swing causes different types of stressors anatomically. Most golfers aren't actually capable of snapping their left leg straight like Tiger did in 2000, and it would seem that Butch advocated that move (it brought great success, so why not?). Obviously Tiger thought differently, as he believed Hank's method was more effective, which also put less stress on the knee.

  • @MauriceFameboy Ya I hear you but we are going to have to agree to disagree...... Tigers knee would have gone to crap with any coach. That knee snap you talk of is only part of the reason his knee isnt working right.

Ask any ortho thats worth a toss what is THE MOST debilitating factor in knee problems, and they will say genetics, injury and surgery. Once he got knee surgery the story was already written. Its all downhill from here.

  • @marcusdolby1 And by the way, the answer to your question about Jack is yes, people defended him, and still do, probably until the end of time. For some reason as a society, when we see athletes who transcend a sport (Michael Jordan, Nicklaus, Tiger), a part of us hopes that we will see that dominance indefinitely. Obviously, it is impossible. But remember, Tiger is only 35, which is the prime of most golfer's career. Almost everyone wants to see him dominate again.

  • @MauriceFameboy Its funny you say most want Tiger to dominate again, most of the people I know who were big fans of Tiger arent anymore.

Even if Tiger breaks Jacks 18 major record, he still wont be the greatest. Jack was a family man who is legend because of WHO HE WAS and his record. Tiger is a low down family wrecker and isnt nor will he ever be the man Jack was and is.

  • @marcusdolby1 well we're not judging them by what they do off the course. are we?

  • @stackleft I guess your right, were not. I just wonder if Bobby Jones did what Tiger did, would he still be the icon he is today? I guess everyone deserves a second chance and we all make mistakes.......... I wish Tiger the best but so far, I havnt seen the humbled man. Time will tell weather Tiger learns from his mistakes.

But really..... Merry Mex said this 15 years ago...... Tigers body wont hold up if he keeps swinging like that. Trevino knew what he was talking about.

  • @marcusdolby1 bobby jones was a racist, used terrible profanity and basically acted like a child on the golf course. the difference is back then was there was no tv, barely any media and so on. many golfers back in the 60's and 70's had numerous girlfriends on the side, arnold was one of them. but again, not the constant media pressure of today. tiger is an asshole w/ low character, but i only judge him by what he does on the course. he's not my friend and i just want him to entertain me.

  • @stackleft It doesnt look like he will be "entertaining you" for the US open...... just sayin.

  • @marcusdolby1 no big deal. i just like to watch him play golf. he makes things very exciting when he's in the hunt. i'm going to the open and will enjoy it, but it won't be the same w/out tiger. ticket sales are down and well as tv ratings. the sport needs him badly.

  • @stackleft Hey have a great time. I have been to the Masters 4 times but never a US Open. Should be fun.

  • @marcusdolby1 How do you know Jack didn't cheat on barbra? were you there every step of his life?

  • @Gyro911 actually tiger lost distance with harmon. he didn't like it that hefty was blowing it by him. i heard harmon on the golf channel say that one of the reasons tiger left was cause harmon rebuilt his swing to be more accurate.

  • Tiger has won 14 majors...guys, I think he knows what he is doing.

  • so now being centered is also tilting?

how long until jim hardy is accused of copying s&t, give me a break!

  • sean foleys gay tiger go back to butch harmon please do us all a favour ??

  • this is bullshit

  • Tiger's game is as bad as it's every been. The new trend of making the hips follow the head rather than the head following the hips is really messing up the swing. Foley pushs a static head, where all great players have always ahad from a half inch or more movement of the head to the right. They even have a dip both down and backward on the downswing. But time will tell if S&T will be the swing method of the centruy

  • Swing looks worse each time he changes, turning into Tyson, lost his magic. Tyso. Should of never left Rooney and tiger butch.

  • @lakecora23

    you don't know golf

  • I could teach him better than these bums who complicate it too much. Just show him his butch swing, was simple.

  • Sounds like the Stack & Tilts guys too me.

  • @TheBillygolfs50. You make a valid observation. Even in saying to do one thing, it can LOOK like something else. So much information.

  • @nsaminder Don't you think your so smart.....first off, it's not S&T, second of all, I'm sure that the best player of all time wouldn't waste his time during a major event for pointless advertising while he could be practicing. Apparently in your definition of this swing, Tiger is an uncoordinated retard. False

  • tiger is officially a modified stack and tilt. he said to the press he is hitting the ball farther than he ever has, and sean foley says he has talked with mike bennett and andy plummer about their theories and their ideas are a part of his swing theory.

  • in short, right upper body stays behind and below left, all through backswing!

  • The slightly more technical explanation:

Lateral trunk flexion can take place only in the frontal plane. So when the body is in left-side lateral flexion at top-of-backswing, the body must undo that move in the frontal plane, (which now faces away from target) then the body must rotate forward and then the arms must drop down! Three moves AND perfect timing and sync-ing required, and therefore 10,000 hours of hard-wiring!!! See my Golf Channel Instructor Search video for a simple explanation.

  • The simple explanation:

The right side of the trunk is below the left at address and once again at impact.

If, as Tiger does here, the left upper body drops down at top-of-backswing, maximum effort is spent on simply raising the left side of the body, and complex movements have to be made to return the body and arms to an 'address-like' position

  • When the left shoulder has to drop so much below its level at address, then lift up again, HIGHER than its level at address, too many separate movements must all happen in quick succession to make correct contact, ie the swing is subject to perfect timing. There is less option for forward thrust and more power in such a swing.

  • @KiranKanwarGolfPro -- Great point. Shoulders should attempt to go level?

  • @sessien Depends on if your a one planner or two planner. Tiger is One plane he needs tilt. This is SnT stuff all the way. I work with Mike Bennnet and Sean Foley ihas always asked Plummber and Bennet for info. The snt has been around for ever and they won"t deny it. They simply found what the best ball strikers have done thru out time and then they submitted it to Golf Digest. G.D. writers are the ones that came up with the name. Same thing happen with X-Factor. Modern Swing Conventional swing
