  • the wrestler, angelheart what a legend! sorry things didn't workout before but i'm glad mickey's finally getting the recognition he deserves! when i think of cool i think of mickey!

  • Beautiful

  • One of the few celebrity interviews that I wish would have been longer.. good stuff.

  • Mickey's the real deal....Thanx for the great bio.

  • I wonder who's name it was ?

  • @TheFactorygirl28 maybe Carre Otis

  • @c11535366 yes. Perhaps.

  • He was filming Iron Man 2 during this, as you can tell by his hair and the barely washed off hand tattoos for the character of Ivan Vanko.

  • its fair to say that he comes from very honest places

  • @JG1635 I agree, that was an important film for rourke, strong film

  • i cant believe lipton didnt give mick any props for the movie "BULLET" it was a very underrated film, mickey and the whole cast was awesome, great movie.

  • Mickey Rourke everything i have ever heard him say, was to the point and fucking funny! just a "great speaker"and a good man nice to hear real talk.

  • Another thing at the very beginning He's asked who wrote that and Mickey replied Me, wrote what?

  • @cinnamin01 The speech from The Wrestler when Mickeys character is in the ring before his comeback match. He wrote that himself

  • @Hannover146 Thanks Appreciate it.

  • what did He say when asked what profession He wouldn't ever want to do or least liked? I didn't understand when He replied, cann anyone let Me know?

  • @cinnamin01 digging ditches

  • I didn't expect to watch the whole thing, but I couldn't stop. What's amazing is how honest he is. If you live your live never taking risks, never making mistakes, never falling down, then what is there to measure your success against?

  • subtitles?

  • Rourke is an artist. That is an overused word in the film, music, artistic community, but Mickey is a dedicated artist who never sold out.

  • Gotta love this champ. Straight up, no BS.

  • <3 this guy.

  • "What is your least favorite word?"

I think that it is his Plastic Surgery Doctor's name...

  • Great quote at the end!

Said like a man who has lived, and now finally gets it!

    Humble, honest, and wise

  • @TheDirection69 Wrong, you got it or you don't ... he's got it ! There are tons of mature actors who'll never get a gig ... has nothing to do with development ... some make it, some don't. He's got a Bafta, Golden Globe etc. wouldn't call that a ruined career. He made mistakes, yes ... we all do.

The more I learn to cope with my own mistakes the more I feel the need to defend this guy ...

  • @TheDirection69 Didn't you see the entire interview? He went through some serious shit in his life, which started with his fucked up childhood. You're obviously an immature fuck who has no clue what life can do to you. He is man enough to have resurrected instead of killing himself like the majority do.

  • @neologic6 That was very well said!!! I totally agree with you . When u hit the rock bottom you can either "check out" or stay, staying is the very hard and very courageous choice , though the demons are still there so u gotta fight them every day maybe till the rest of your life. so thumbs up for Mickey, happy he´s still around.

  • mickey rourke had such a soft voice when he was young but god his voice changed completely

  • Lipton: What's your favorite word?

    Rourke: *Bleep!*

Lipton: This may be redundant. What is your favorite curse word?

    Rourke: *Bleep!*

    LOL XD

  • I liked Mickey before I watched these, now I love the guy. He's like this huge ball of sensitivity and love that was hidden underneath a wolf's clothing. He's awesome.

  • what was mickeys favorite word?

  • Hannover, Thank you so much for this interview. Mickey is an incredible man.

  • He's such a flawed human being. Which is what makes me like and respect him so fucking much.

  • @TheGretchenRoss29 and can face his flaws and be "OK", with them.

  • @fullfist yeah, the world would be so much better with just perfect people like you, who judge the shit outta others after seeing a 45 minutes interview ...

  • @Hannover146 actually, the interviews while recording are actually 2-4 hours long and they are condensed to 45 minutes

  • @HajimeNoJMo actually, almost every interview is edited down to fit the format, but that doesn't change my point, we see 45 minutes and judging this man based on that is just low, I'll stay with that

  • @fullfist I don't happen to agree you. Most people who were as troubled as Mickey seems to have been when he was struggling with drugs, his own demons, and seeing a shrink, 4-5 times a week, first off would not have made it to the shrink's office, ever or maybe a few times. They would have drifted into obscurity, and not matured, at all. He has overcome a great deal, and taken great risks. Most people could not have "matured" as you say, as Mickey has.

  • @fullfist And what does your comment say about you? After seeing a man sharing his painful journey and hard lessons in life, you arrogantly judge and analyze him! The very fact that he could say all that in front of a room full of peers and viewers with such awareness and vulnerability shows that he is probably superior to you spiritually and courage-wise. He is being REAL.

  • @fullfist Mr. Freud returned from the crave.......

  • @TheRealHankMoody lol, good one :O) second that

  • @TheRealHankMoody "Crave"? uh ohh... that's what Mr Freud would call a lapsus! :)

  • @fullfist WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT MAN YOU CANT JUDGE MICKEY BASED ON THIS

  • @fullfist Immature? Check out his guy's channel !! It has dodgy cartoons on it! Mwah!

  • Excellent interview... as expected. Mickey is such a cool guy. One thing I never hear anyone mention is how the pain he's suffered in life, all the ups and downs, helped make him an even better actor. Surely that's a point someone should be making. Well, someone just did.

  • His performance in The Pledge after a long absence was one of the most moving I've seen, and than I asked myself how come movie business is not takeing this guy back?

  • I'd like to see him give his life to Jesus Christ.

  • @Ironwind1972 I'd like to see religious sheep stop preaching on YouTube.

  • @Ironwind1972 He has, he's a practicing Catholic.

  • What sound or noise do you love: "Thunder and Lightning" I love his answer

  • The guy at 6:21 is on The Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr. HA!

  • Most awesome episode ever! Could've used film clips and references to his better films though...

  • "Your brother's over there...the girls are over here." -- Greatest response to that question.

  • oh Mickey Rourke you are a beautiful person, please don't waste your time regretting your life.

  • his favourite sound is mine too and what turns him on as well (finally an honest answer to that question)

  • This must have been a difficult interview. It seems edited with a chainsaw.

  • He is an incredibly humble and honorable man. I have gained a lot of respect for Mickey Rourke after watching this

  • I'd love to meet with him and bullshit about my two loves: The Arts and Boxing

  • on that question he was!

  • I love thie guy here, but I am having SO MUCH trouble reconciling him with the smooth, charming dollface from the 80s. I mean, he TALKS totally differently. I just cannot believe that's...John from 9 1/2 Weeks sitting up there on that stage. I can't...I can't SEE that person anymore, you know?

  • What was the curse word? :)

  • @NYtoTX I think it was Pussy

  • @beast72486 Ah, knowing him...it was!!!

  • He really beats himself up; he must have done some horrid things (probably beat women, etc.) but I admire and respect him now.

  • how come they didn't show any clips from the wrestler?

  • @bonnertom032 they did show them, but I had to cut that out. Otherwise the video would be blocked for copyright reasons.

  • why not uncensored

  • they are all actors lol, i haven't seen them in movies

  • @VonLeenknecht wow, notice that they are all like 20-25 years old, it's called hard work, success doesn't come just like that man

  • @LivingIn1969 Yeah i know. It's just the way they say it i guess.

  • The story and his mention of his brother makes me tear up...I have brothers and I can't imagine that scenario without my heart breaking while just thinking about it.

  • that was kind of funny when everybody started clapping. It just got serious out of nowhere.

  • He was probably filming iron man 2, or getting ready to...looks just like his character in the movie w w w .youtube.com/watch?v=AP0jVeHLKwo

  • Gotta love him!

  • Fascinating guy...

  • @kuapo for sure.)))

  • what's with his hair? actors kind of lose it sometimes

  • @whowantstogetnaked his hairs sick man! hes got pretty sick style for a guy his age

  • @POOCHDOGGY a guy his age? shouldn't HAVE fancy hair style like that. he's one of those guys that still thinks they're young and can't let go of the past.

  • Whoa, I was much impressed than I thought I would be.

  • Darren Aranfsky is highly spoken of by Mickey, he gave this great actor another chance , he took a risk hiring such an explosive charactor whose name was not one most popular, he couldn't afford to pay him but I'm sure he must have afterwards ? have things really changed much in Hollywood Mickey - . Best of luck, a fan who must confess had forgotton all about you.

  • The Grand Finale... the trivia and questions..

  • thanks for sharing.

  • "What turns you off?" - Mickey: "People that are cruel to animals." THANK YOU. That really means a lot to me. Good that he said it. Seriously.

  • @BibXcite I came back an hour or two after watching this. Why didn't he say 'people that are cruel to kids' ? People that hurt their own kids, if cruelty is the issue? He doesn't like people. Can't blame him really. Bill Hicks remarked that people are viruses with shoes.

  • @BibXcite

He would probably punch out Michael Vick. And I would pay GOOD MONEY to see Mickey Rourke punch out Michael Vick

  • @CesMan83 Dito. I'd love to see that happening. Rourke for the win!!!

  • "your brother's over there, and the girls are over there." that is brilliant.

  • I have watched nearly 100 of these and his "what would you like to hear god say" answer was the best

  • @msfattytroll No, no...Alec Baldwin's is the funniest and best!

  • @NYtoTX

    not even close

  • @msfattytroll Matt Damon's was the best respone to the God question. hands down. Original too.
