The troops were W's instrument of victory in Iraq. We did the fighting & not all of us came home..Bush Gave us what we needed in the form of steady leadership & unwavering support..He learned from earlier mistakes & gave us what we needed to win. The reason we are still there is the same reason why there are still troops in Germany, Japan, & Korea..Long term stability of a new ally who cannot yet defend itself against it's neighbors of Syria or Iran.

The sheer number of troops in Iraq today are not the same as the number that stayed behind in Germany and Japan. The job in Iraq is not yet done. The war is not won. If anything, it's nearly won. I'm glad you had faith in Bush, and some of his decisions. I could not.

Japan's defeat was marked by a ceremony on a battleship. Iraq had no such event other than Saddam's statue being torn down..So In real terms, the 'war' has been won since 2003, the peace took a little longer to achieve...As far as having "faith"..it isn't "faith"..It's historic facts..But you will never accept that. You judge that by making on slight against George W that I must automatically not want our side to win. Sorry, I won't fit that mold. His leadership on this was flawed. I'm not saying Obama's is any better. Ideally, he should have waited until the Job was done in Afghanistan, then we would have gone into Iraq with full force.

It's not about debating the issues, but belittling and mocking those who don't agree with you, acting as if any positions other than your own are invalid and worthless. Just look at recent RNC speeches for more examples. This petty, small-minded attitude makes me sick. I at least try to understand others' positions. How can I think mine is better if I don't?
