I am 22 years old and I feel my generation has lost all dignity. I have watched red skeleton's skits and stand up since I was kid. Still ahve alot of them on VHS. The mass degredation, indoctrination, and lies have brainwashed my generation so bad I dont know if they can come back. When I look at all that comes out of the movie theaters these days I wonder how we became so submissive and accepting to stupidity. Dont let anyone raise your kids but you.
This should be the first thing and last thing all Americans should see everyday. Not mandatory just suggested. I remember when Patriotism wasn't a devisive, dirty word. Still isn't to me.
Right-on Red ... One Nation UNDER GOD ... Semper Fidelis USMC 1974 - 1981 Everyone WILL STAND BEFORE HIM to be judged. Semper Fidelis : "faithful to country, GOD and the Corps !" America ! Turn back to GOD almighty.
I feel many of you have missed the point of what Red has said. Yes, he believed strongly in God and is most likely a saint watching over us all. However, with that being said I feel like you have missed the emphasis that has been placed upon the fact that Liberty says what we have all seemingly forgotten. "which is freedom -- the right of power to live one's
own life without threats, fear or some sort of
retaliation. "

i use to have the box record of this it makes me remember that even though the econmony sucks and the leader is the worst we ever had it could be worse
Bleh! there is no God in our Pledge of Allegiance. 1st. of all our country was founded by the English Crown. They sent convicts to work the land for the Crown. The colonist then commited TREASON and rebelled. The Colonists dressed as commoners (Terrorists) invaded English forts and confiscated weapons and ammo. Next they broke all treaties with the Native Americans (talk about illegal immigration). Then they proceeded to use bio warfare (Smallpox), chemical warfare(Rot gut whiskey) Where's GOD?
@SpotterOz Bone up on my history? What kind of talk is that? Why don't you speak proper english. Oh, and what exactly did I get wrong? I think it is you that needs some history lessons. Why don't you do a Youtube search for a video titled: The True History of the United States. I think you will learn a lot from watching it.

@mudpuppy43 I'm 46 now & when I was about 12 my mother took me to see Red at Grand Rapid's Welsh Auditorium. It wasn't "cool" to tell my friends what I was doing that night... but Red killed and I repeated every joke & anecdote Red had told to anyone who would listen. He was awesome, a true performer & a genuine person. Thanks for the memories.
@dalittleman1991 How do you figure that? Hmmm? He all he did was explain the meaning of each word. How is THAT propaganda? sheesh even Senor Castro liked him!
Well its what Red said that inspired me when I was a Young boy. What he said is correct! Its a shame that those who do not believe, shall face the WORST kind of Death come Judgment Day before our God! I feel so sorry for those who denies God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The Devil [AKA Satan, Lucifer] Is smiling knowing soon you shall be in his group. But the Everlasting Fire, you'll thirst for Water, and none shall be giving. Ye shall see Jesus on Judgment Day, he'll say: I know you not! Repent
@WilliamRNewmanJr Find the nearest community college and enroll. You can't possibly still believe in this childish book of historical and scientific lies once you've got even the most minimal education. If you were born in pakistan, you'd be saying the same about anyone not worshiping Allah. Religion is a stupid, dangerous, and unreasonable tradition that we as intelligent beings have no reason to keep passing down (or as it truly should be put: no reason to keep lying to children).
Getting ready for Round 2 at school this year...the "teacher" and "principal" are friends. She hired her friend and wants to dismantle everything American. Posting a sign on the wall instructing kids 4 - 8 years old is giving them an opportunity to recite the pledge?...while the other children are running around the circus.
how do did you fools get on evolution vs God theorey form teh pledge of allegiance? Mind numbing arguments useless arguments, who cares, either you believe or you don't and you all have the freedom and right to beleive what you believe because of freedom, period. Protect freedom with your whole being, whether you have faith or not, or you won't be able to spout off and argue like children without state reprocutions like you do now.
@temporary1121: Please understand that "Under God" was put IN around 1949, by the Knights of Columbus who lobbied until the President (Eisenhower) acquiesced. And the author, a Christian, wrote it WITHOUT the words "Under God" because he purposely chose not to. I believe he did that because the pledge is not a prayer, not a recognition of Christianity, but a pact between a citizen and his or her country, regardless of their religion. It was about the pact between all citizens and the USA.
herakles82 dont have to worry about we people destroying this country the DEMOCRATS ARE DOING OR SHOULD I SAY THE DEMOCRAT/COMMUNIST PARTY IS DOING IT
hiramab1 you are racist just like obamyo you need to get it right the years of slavey was over 150 years ago besides all that i thought if you were born in america you were american / we the people dont owe any one a liveing so they can just sit on there dead asses
The "under God" portion of the Pledge was added durring the Cold War to differentiate us from Communist countries like Russia and China, where they are not free to practice a religion of their own choosing only one chosen for them if any. Religion aside, is it not sad that our children are not taught the Pledge of Allegience in school anymore?
Listen people, all of this bickering is taking away from the importance of Mr. Skelton's message in this video. He is speaking on the blessings of freedom that we have enjoyed in this country. Blessings that are unique to the United States and the United States alone. That is why we are called The American Experiment, for nowhere else in the whole world are people free to succeed or fail on their own merits alone.
Red was not a prophet, he was a Mason. He came from a time when someone's word actually meant something, when elders were respected, and when the Pledge's definition inspired unity and patriotism.
Listen...someone wrote the Pledge of Allegiance obviously because of his dedication to his country. I love that. But when some individual ads "Under god", I am not saying thats a bad thing, but imposing the will, the morality and religious dogma on others that dont believe what those certain individuals believe, is disctatorship. And for those zealots out there that call others who don't believe in god, "Un-American", they are as close minded as the Americans that owned slaves, & burned witches
@69thPredator ..yes I know, that's why I said ""when some individual ADS 'Under god'". Thanks for the clarification though. I'm very familiar with the McCarthy era
When I voted at the last presidental election, in line, a head of me, was a republican who said she normally didn't vote but was voting in this election because if you registered to vote you were on the Jury Duty List adn she didn't want to be called for jury duty. Freedom's is everyone's job.
I wish that everyone would think about what he aid - "Freedom is everyone's job". Everyone is not doing their job. Despite all those who are promilitary and prowar only 1% of the population of the US serve in the military. Where are the pariots? Is it someone else's job? My husband and I are both retired military, my son is currently serving - total of 57 years of military service. Not bad for a family of liberals. I hate chicken hawks - hawkish about war and military but too chicken to serve
Red was a great entertainer, but he was an entertainer and that is exactly what this is! We are only been "THE BEST" in our own minds. We have not been involved in a legitimate war sine WWII and we have a shaky track record in how we treat Native Americans, blacks, immigrants and other minorities. The true Patriot is the American who raises their voice to address inequality, both social and economic. It has nothing to do with religion in school or whether you believe in god or not!
34 people have NO taste! (Red would agree, just ask him!) This is one of many fine persons I study (and have studied) and THEY (the ones who knew what entertainment was really all about) had their ducks in a row! (He who has an ear...) =]
I also remember that this country used to be the BEST at everything!!!! We were NO.1 when it came to the kids in school...Now we're 24th..I hang my head in shame at what has happened to this country..I fought for this country in a war...I'm not so sure I could lay my life down for what we have become...i won't live to see it but I hope we can get back to where all Americans hold their heads high and can say I"M PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN..God Bless you Red .....RIP my friend.....
red skelton strikes me as the quintessential establishment hack of the 50s. while the government was lying and spying on us and the pentagon fighting illegal wars abroad, red was there to tell good white christian americans that we were the greatest country on earth, and everybody has rights, except for those damn russian communists
Folks, I understand that the belief in God, or the right to not believe in Him, is a very controversial topic these days, but why all of the name-calling and insults. Have we become so vain in our own opinions that we cannot tolerate the heartfelt beliefs of others? I for one believe in God, but I would'nt denigrate the intelligence or the integrity of someone who chooses not to believe. Reading some of these posts it is a wonder that we not destroyed ourselves already.
For someone to tell me that there is no God is like looking me straight in the face and telling me that the ingredients to a cake can just jump off the shelf and make itself.
@batbat29640@batbat29640@batbat29640 You clearly dont understand evolution. Evolution is the process by which life adapts itself to new environments. An example of this would be the evolution of the peppered moth, which you can search for on wikipedia.
Also, considering that the evidence you posit for your god is a wildly inconsistent and error filled book, I dont see much of a reason to believe in christianity over any other belief system with the same amount of evidence, which is none
@ShiningLighthouse you clearly mistake me for someone who subscribes to Christianity as a valid religion . . . And to say that I hold up a bible for evidence is just taking my words out of context, as most bible thumpers do with scripture. I don't need a badly and intentionally mistranslated book as evidence. I just look at the world around me. Pretty self evident that this stuff didn' t just happen. I understand that life needs to evolve to adapt to certain environments (like the polar bear)
@ShiningLighthouse To hurl condescending remarks at me as if I'm holding up a KJV book and saying "read it or go to hell* is just ignorant and by definition, quite prejudice. I never once claimed the bible to be completely without error or my evidence for my god. You clearly don't understand the need for context.
Also "evolution" is about as commercialized as christmas and valentines day. There is plenty of evidence to disprove Darwin's theories and that prove that alot of his fossils were fals
@batbat29640 How is a scientific theory commercialized. Also, care to provide evidence of your fossil inconsistencies, all of which have probably been debunked?
@Humbler25 Good thing that evolutionary theory does not wholly depend on those 2 examples, but insted is more apt to depend on the widely accepted australopithecus afarensis, homo erectus, Homo habilis and others, all of which have multiple fossils, and have not been debunked. Even with this, evolution can also just be proven by breeding, such as the breeding of foxes to be tame in experiments in russia. The same selection forces that human can exert are also present in the wild.
@ShiningLighthouse that is a very good point, but more complete fossils are needed.
microevolution becoming macroevolution is the unproven part. Wikpedia can tell us that it happens in theory, but I think everybody already know that, that's the theory. It's just not proven.
@ShiningLighthouse Respectfully, my friend, the peppered moth is an example of microevolution (i.e. changes within a species). For example, the many breeds of dogs that exist is an example of microevolution. The controversy comes into play when people promote "macroevolution," one species transforming into another species (which by the way has NOT been proven - only speculated about). Remember, we still await the discovery of an example of macroevolution...and waiting...and waiting....
@ShiningLighthouse I'm afraid you're coming up with empty arguments - one does not lead to the other, however, since you seem to have an "inside track" on the debate perhaps you can answer the question as to what biological vehicle causes a microevolutionary change to morph into a macroevolutionary leap? I've spent years researching both secular and non-secular sources and there is not ONE that can offer a clear step by step explanation of the process. Oh, and BTW I wouldn't trust Wikipedia.
Heard a comment the other day. It takes more faith to be an atheist than a believer. Atheist have to believe the laws of science are NEVER going to fail. Believers have to believe that God is not going to fail.
@wpgrad74 A typical religious misconception. Atheism isn't a religion, it's the truth. Religion has a problem with the truth and human curiosity, always has. The world is not flat any more. We are all atheists about most of the Gods humanity has ever believed in, some of us, just go one god further.
But the "under god" wasn't in the original "pledge of allegiance" it was illegally added in 1954 and is in direct conflict with the notion of freedom of religion. The exact same thing goes for "in god we trust" on our money, again added illegally by President Eisenhower in 1954. BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE SO WE CAN SAY IT IN OUR SCHOOLS AGAIN!
@sluggo06 I think we go back home to the God who gave us life. We are here on this earth to be tested. When our mission is finished we return home and reunite with our loved ones .
There are still many of us that belie live in our country, the people running it are ruining it because they all have their own agendas on making money. When the pledge was written they were true patriots like Red Skelton that believed in the voice of the people and the flag for what it stands for. Today we middle class hard working people who believe in this country and wish the best are at the beckoning call of polations who don't listen to the people but what big business wants cause they al
the greatest explaination of our great land. This is a piece that all teachers should show there students every so often to explain how blessed we are. God Bless Red Skelton,God Bless you and I and GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Some people just dont have respect for america these days, go live somewhere else and see how much u like it. For u to see this video and still talk shit, u got something wrong with u, this is touching wither u beleive in god or not.
All americans care about now is bringing down the goverment and everyone around them. complaing about how hard life is. yeah the goverment isnt perfect, but neither are we. do something besides bitch and complain.
@scootsie119 But the "under god" wasn't in the original "pledge of allegiance" it was illegally added in 1954 and is in direct conflict with the notion of freedom of religion.
@mechanicmike69 Or quite being such a liberal hard head and tell your kids that "GOD" can mean whatever God they choose or not if they choose. I'm so tired of this country bending over backwards to please complainers....
@afguy1977 But the fact of the matter is there is no god. So quit complaining about the complainers. I sick of people trying to shove their imaginary invisible being down my throat. Kind of like the muslims pushing islam down our throat. 9/11! blind faith kills.
@mechanicmike69 You know that to be fact??? Funny 83% of America would disagree with you. I'm not trying to shove anything down your throat....if you don't want your kid to recite the Pledge, tell them to sit there and let the others do what they believe (just as your kids will be doing by NOT reciting it)....
@afguy1977 I want the pledge to be what it originally was, without "under god" in it. and to return to our schools. For 150 years it did not have 'under god' in it. Separation of church and state, freedom of religion is only free when no one can shove their god of the fact their is one down any ones throat.
@afguy1977 That was added to our money art the same time "under god" was added to the pledge, both by President Eisenhower in 1954. Illegally I might add.
@mechanicmike69 The question was do you use it? You claim that "freedom of religion is only free when no one can shove their god of the fact their is one down any ones throat" which the best I can tell through translating your gibberish means the you don't believe in God and that's fine, but guess what 83 percent of people do!!! So I guess the 83% of us have to appease the 17% of you people? How does that sound fair???
@afguy1977 You are taking away my religious freedom by requiring me to worship your version of god. Freedom of religion is guaranteed under the constitution, So shove your %'s down your throat, it's all about protecting the individuals rights over the "mass" mentality (pun intended).
@mechanicmike69 u know what, im not all over the world but wher ei am, i never seen anyone forcvully shove religion down mine or anyones throats. Johavas whitness maybe but they do it politly and leave when i ask them and i dont get mad, i know they mean well. But what i do see is angry Athiest all the time teasing otehr religiong that theirs no GOD.
And i knwo your probaly gona say religion starts wars, but other things would start wars if not religion.
@scootsie119 Just tired of watching people getting away with shoving their god down others throats. Religious beliefs have started all wars and you knew it. Blind faith brought down the twin trade towers.
@mechanicmike69 and if it wasnt for religion there'd still be wars based on other things from other retards around the world. Cmon theres wars being fought everday within countrys that have nothing to with religion. without religion people will still have beliefs and conflicts with those beliefs and opinions.
@scootsie119@mechanicmike69, EXACTLY as scootsie says, no one is forcing anything down your throat....just sit there and shut your mouth and let me worship if I want to....if you don't want to, that's fine!
@mechanicmike69 i may not believe in christianity anymore but too much weird stuff has happened in my life to not believe in A god at all. Sure these things could be a coincednce. But how do u explain a doctor describing your dead uncle coming to see your dieing mother??? Weird shit happens wether it has to do with god or not .
And no i cant prove but what makes u right if both of us cant prove it??? Youre jsut an ignorant ass bottom line.
@scootsie119 "weird stuff happens" so there is a god, what logic is that? . God is the book mark religious or lazy people place where their intelligence stops and their ignorance starts.
@mechanicmike69 READ my comments more clearly.this is the 3rd u misquoted me look like intellagence stopped with u. I never said that stuff was caused by GOD. This Universe is too big for anyone to know everything.
jst for the record. i believe int eh chance their could be a GOD.wether hes human or not idk or care, i dont believe that GOD sends peopel to hell for making mistakes.
Also u still didnt answer my question cuz u have no answers. i look at things with an open mind. its my life not urs
@scootsie119 It is not the responsibility of those that don't believe in big foot to prove he doesn't exist, it is the responsibility of those who do think a big foot exists to prove it. Plain and simple.
@mechanicmike69 still no answer though. and still no one can prove hes does or doesnt exist no no one can ever say for sure. I myself dont believe in it.
Besides bigfoot is different peopel know where hes soppossed to be. the Universe is to big to be looking for a godliek creatuer and like i said before if there was a all powerful being liek a GOd he'd be able to keep himself form being discovered. Is it so crazy an idea? how r there rocks and fires jsut floating in space?n yeah i know gravity
@mechanicmike69 i really dot care what u have to say anymore you can only answer my questions with more questions. i have my beliefs but im also open and respectful to other peopls beliefs anyone can live life the way they want. Stop being so negative and trying to bring people down. This is a great video IMO. u dontnlike it dont watch it. youre only here to comment and make peopel mad at u.
@scootsie119 But you're not open and respectful, you do not respect my opinion, let alone understand it.. So you are a hypocrite. Do you believe in the tooth-fairy, the Easter bunny, ghosts and goblins, vampires, werewolves, Big Foot, Sasquatch, Yeti, Santa Claus, Superman? All figments of man's imagination but you can't prove they don't exist. The time has come to prove your god exists, not mine to prove it doesn't. I have a conscience and don't blame my actions on anything imaginary.
@mechanicmike69 LOL u seruiuis go bakc and read all teh comments and tell me who is not open and respectful. your the one putting people down for what they beleive. i one the other hand have no problem witht he people who believe in christianity or with who who believes in nothing. Ive said in each comment that even though i believe something i understand that it may not be correct Your the ignorant one. your bullying people what your doing is like an older jerk brother telling his younger bro..
@scootsie119 theres no santa clause. To me thats being an ass. Who cares if its not true let them live the way they want. i dont believe in all that stuff but i dont sya anything to them. And your still not answering any of my questions dont get mad cuz u cant answer them. Youre not better than me just cuz i say i believe in a GOD and i "KNOW" there isnt cuz youre still a jerk. Theres nothing wrong with my beliefs its my opinion so therefor i cant be wrong, opinions cant be wrong. goodday 2 u
@scootsie119 You haven't addressed a single point I've brought up, I guess because you can't, so you start to cut down the messenger when the message is just too strong to handle. Typical response from ignorance. I see you might have a problem with wisdom from your elders.
@mechanicmike69 ive addressed almost everytihng u said uless i forgot. your the one who doesnt answer straight questions. im done here becuase im beggining to think im tlkaing to moron. Everything youre blaming me for is exactly what youre doing LOL. It was fun talking to you but im finished have a good life sir, i mean that.
@scootsie119 When a person can no longer defend their position, they run. No one can defend religious absurdities. "In the affairs of the world, men are saved, not by faith, but by the lack of it." Benjamin Franklin
"One of the great tragedies of mankind is that morality has been hijacked by religion." -Arthur C. Clarke
We are all atheists about most of the Gods humanity has ever believed in, some of us, just go one god further.
@mechanicmike69 ITs not considered running, i said what had to said u didnt understand me go back and read it. i have nothing else to say to you. all u can do is ask questions and quote people i can do that too. like i said before i dont reallly disagree with anytinhg your saying i just choose to do what i feel i not hurting anyone, so u shouldnt care, im still a good sane person with a good happy life and helping others, i dont let my religion define me. Im walking away not running goodbye.
@scootsie119 I perfectly understand where you are coming from, an imaginary world where we will end up fighting over who has the better invisible being. Blind faith is evil.
@mechanicmike69 im not starting any wars, i dont believe in WARs they solve NOTHING. You may not think it but youre doing the same thing as thees religous people. adn like i said its not blind faith listne when i talk u ignorant moron. I believe in a chance of A GOD. i dont live my life on what i think he thinks is right and wrong, i dont worship my life to him, and i dont shun people who do or dont believe. Theres a difference. seriously man read my comments before u reply agian.
@batbat29640 I do fully understand what evil is, it has been the mindless perpetuation of mindlessly perpetuated religious absurdities and the fools who will fight to defend what "their invisible being" is telling them. There will never be a peaceful global community as long as religion and ancient religious texts has any control of humanities ethics and morals.
@batbat29640 Destroyed? Destroyed what, Imaginary invisible beings. We are all atheists about most of the Gods humanity has ever believed in, some of us, just go one god further. When you understand why YOU Dismiss all the other gods of humanities past and present, You will understand why we dismiss yours. Plain and simple.
@mechanicmike69 i never said it was originally in the Pledvge RED even says it himself. IM not really christian/catholic whatever i raised, but i will never consider myself athiest because of asshoels like u.
i find nothing wrong with peopel wanting to believe in something bigger. maybe it helps them cope with life. no one know for sure wether a god exists or not. if god was reall dont u think hed be powerful enough to hide his existence.
This man has said a mouthful. I hope you young kids remember this and why I put my life on the line. To ensure you all have a better future than I did. Please don`t forget that.
@johmmings the civil war wasn't about blacks; it was about the economies of the north and south being at odds, of which blacks were only a factor. People have to change there views, it's not intolerance, that's just how it is with all people.
Not everyone should have to pledge allegiance to a deity as if we all worship in the same way. Our pledge is a pledge to conformity. America is intolerant of difference. This is why we've had to declare civil war in order to recognize blacks as people, why women have to organize for basic rights, why gays are hated. I don't think we should take god out of america, But we should out of the pledge, unless we can add the spaghetti monster that I worship. This is a politically incorrect statement.
"I pledge no allegiance to the flag of the Corporate States of America, or to the Kleptocracy which stole the land, and plunged our nation into debt, insurmountable, with questionable futures for all."--ironboltbruce[dot]com
@ldrlongdistancerider Did you warcg the whole red and the pledge? he is saying that the Government is suppode to listen to the people NOT the other way around. In other words the average person SHOULD be in charge NOT big business
Glad to hear that your children recite this daily. It is a tribute to our nation, and our brave men and women defending our freedom, that someone really does care. My thanks to them. May they never forget the true meaning of what our Pledge stands for or the words it contains. And "One natain under God" does nto make this a prayer.
If only our government would listen to this and remember the foundation this country was based on... "from the people to the leaders" ... sadly our politicians think they should rule over us without us haveing any say.
This tenderhearted man says it with just feeling and love for this nation. If he were alive today I think he would break down and cry at the way the government is running this country into the ground !! Red, I wish to thank you for this. and RadicalRon1 Thank you
Can we send this to obama & the rest of the hoodlums ruining this great Country that we can still barely call AMERICA before they prevent us from calling it that?
GOD help us all!
In God We Trust, One Nation Under God. great post, I love it 5*****
Red Skelton really meant that too. It's really a shame that "Under God" has been taken out. Thisnation was founded because of religious persecution and what Red said about that "Under God.....wouldn't it be a shame if someone said it was a prayer
and that too would be banned from our schools." Do the kids still say the Pledge of Allegiance in school anymore? I am just glad that Red is no longer with us for he would cry because a lot of people don't respect Old Glory.
Happy to say that, yes, my two daughters recite those words every day before the start of class, along with a class prayer dedicated to those less fortunate as well as to the men and women serving in our military and to those brave few who wear the badge. Private schools still have it right.
The "teacher" at the school where my son attends can learn much from this but she is another who infiltrates the system with their ideology and a goal to tear down the country due to their loyalty elsewhere. Why else would you tell a 1st grader NO to saying the Pledge of Allegiance? The battle begins with the school it seems.
The first grade teacher at my sons school should watch this to realize that the Pledge of Allegiance is not a terrible thing and that, when a child asks to say it, she does not have to tell them NO. They are trying to infiltrate and tear down our country but I will not stand by to watch. Here comes the battle with the school...
@grimblebrumble17889 - Don't lIke the pledge? Then I'm sure you know what to do. Several of us here will gladly show you the door.

Bleh! there is no God in our Pledge of Allegiance. 1st. of all our country was founded by the English Crown.

@mudpuppy43 I'm 46 now & when I was about 12 my mother took me to see Red at Grand Rapid's Welsh Auditorium. It wasn't "cool" to tell my friends what I was doing that night... but Red killed and I repeated every joke & anecdote Red had told to anyone who would listen. He was awesome, a true performer & a genuine person. Thanks for the memories.

The Devil [AKA Satan, Lucifer] Is smiling knowing soon you shall be in his group. But the Everlasting Fire, you'll thirst for Water, and none shall be giving.

Posting a sign on the wall instructing kids 4 - 8 years old is giving them an opportunity to recite the pledge?...while the other children are running around the circus.

temporary1121 8 months ago
@temporary1121: Please understand that "Under God" was put IN around 1949, by the Knights of Columbus who lobbied until the President (Eisenhower) acquiesced. And the author, a Christian, wrote it WITHOUT the words "Under God" because he purposely chose not to. I believe he did that because the pledge is not a prayer, not a recognition of Christianity, but a pact between a citizen and his or her country, regardless of their religion. It was about the pact between all citizens and the USA.

Reading some of these posts it is a wonder that we not destroyed ourselves already.

batbat29640 1 year ago
@batbat29640 @batbat29640 @batbat29640 You clearly dont understand evolution.
ShiningLighthouse 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse you clearly mistake me for someone who subscribes to Christianity as a valid religion . . . And to say that I hold up a bible for evidence is just taking my words out of context, as most bible thumpers do with scripture. I don't need a badly and intentionally mistranslated book as evidence. I just look at the world around me. Pretty self evident that this stuff didn' t just happen. I understand that life needs to evolve to adapt to certain environments (like the polar bear)
batbat29640 1 year ago
Why is it self evident that life didnt happen?
ShiningLighthouse 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse To hurl condescending remarks at me as if I'm holding up a KJV book and saying "read it or go to hell* is just ignorant and by definition, quite prejudice. I never once claimed the bible to be completely without error or my evidence for my god. You clearly don't understand the need for context.
Also "evolution" is about as commercialized as christmas and valentines day. There is plenty of evidence to disprove Darwin's theories and that prove that alot of his fossils were fals
batbat29640 1 year ago
@batbat29640 How is a scientific theory commercialized. Also, care to provide evidence of your fossil inconsistencies, all of which have probably been debunked?
ShiningLighthouse 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse what's been debunked... piltdown man and Nebraska man as frauds - nope they were frauds
Humbler25 1 year ago
@Humbler25 Good thing that evolutionary theory does not wholly depend on those 2 examples, but insted is more apt to depend on the widely accepted australopithecus afarensis, homo erectus, Homo habilis and others, all of which have multiple fossils, and have not been debunked. Even with this, evolution can also just be proven by breeding, such as the breeding of foxes to be tame in experiments in russia. The same selection forces that human can exert are also present in the wild.
ShiningLighthouse 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse you mean multiple partial fossils... sure - not enough to prove the monkey chart as being valid.
We have to exert intelligence to breed animals... sounds like you may agree then with another theory.
Humbler25 1 year ago
It is extremely rare to find a complete fossil, because of the way fossilization usually happens and because of weathering and such.
ShiningLighthouse 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse that is a very good point, but more complete fossils are needed.
microevolution becoming macroevolution is the unproven part. Wikpedia can tell us that it happens in theory, but I think everybody already know that, that's the theory. It's just not proven.
Humbler25 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse Respectfully, my friend, the peppered moth is an example of microevolution (i.e. changes within a species). For example, the many breeds of dogs that exist is an example of microevolution. The controversy comes into play when people promote "macroevolution," one species transforming into another species (which by the way has NOT been proven - only speculated about). Remember, we still await the discovery of an example of macroevolution...and waiting...and waiting....
Herakles82 1 year ago
@Herakles82 Microevolution leads to macroevolution as changes pile up. look at wikipedia and educate yourself.
ShiningLighthouse 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse I'm afraid you're coming up with empty arguments - one does not lead to the other, however, since you seem to have an "inside track" on the debate perhaps you can answer the question as to what biological vehicle causes a microevolutionary change to morph into a macroevolutionary leap? I've spent years researching both secular and non-secular sources and there is not ONE that can offer a clear step by step explanation of the process. Oh, and BTW I wouldn't trust Wikipedia.
Herakles82 1 year ago
@ShiningLighthouse That's a contradiction

afguy1977 1 year ago
@afguy1977 But the fact of the matter is there is no god. So quit complaining about the complainers. I sick of people trying to shove their imaginary invisible being down my throat. Kind of like the muslims pushing islam down our throat. 9/11! blind faith kills.
mechanicmike69 1 year ago
@mechanicmike69 You know that to be fact??? Funny 83% of America would disagree with you. I'm not trying to shove anything down your throat....if you don't want your kid to recite the Pledge, tell them to sit there and let the others do what they believe (just as your kids will be doing by NOT reciting it)....
afguy1977 1 year ago
@afguy1977 I want the pledge to be what it originally was, without "under god" in it. and to return to our schools. For 150 years it did not have 'under god' in it. Separation of church and state, freedom of religion is only free when no one can shove their god of the fact their is one down any ones throat.
mechanicmike69 1 year ago
@mechanicmike69 Well "Under God" is on our money....do you use it?

@mechanicmike69 The question was do you use it? You claim that "freedom of religion is only free when no one can shove their god of the fact their is one down any ones throat" which the best I can tell through translating your gibberish means the you don't believe in God and that's fine, but guess what 83 percent of people do!!! So I guess the 83% of us have to appease the 17% of you people? How does that sound fair???
afguy1977 1 year ago
@afguy1977 You are taking away my religious freedom by requiring me to worship your version of god. Freedom of religion is guaranteed under the constitution, So shove your %'s down your throat, it's all about protecting the individuals rights over the "mass" mentality (pun intended).

@scootsie119 I perfectly understand where you are coming from, an imaginary world where we will end up fighting over who has the better invisible being. Blind faith is evil.

@mechanicmike69 you really need to fully understand what evil is before you hurl that word "blindly" at people.
batbat29640 1 year ago
@batbat29640 I do fully understand what evil is, it has been the mindless perpetuation of mindlessly perpetuated religious absurdities and the fools who will fight to defend what "their invisible being" is telling them. There will never be a peaceful global community as long as religion and ancient religious texts has any control of humanities ethics and morals.

@mechanicmike69 Atheism . . . the new "religion". If it's so healthy then how has it destroyed so much?
batbat29640 1 year ago

Philkrie 1 year ago
Not everyone should have to pledge allegiance to a deity as if we all worship in the same way. Our pledge is a pledge to conformity. America is intolerant of difference. This is why we've had to declare civil war in order to recognize blacks as people, why women have to organize for basic rights, why gays are hated. I don't think we should take god out of america, But we should out of the pledge, unless we can add the spaghetti monster that I worship. This is a politically incorrect statement.

Glad to hear that your children recite this daily. It is a tribute to our nation, and our brave men and women defending our freedom, that someone really does care. My thanks to them. May they never forget the true meaning of what our Pledge stands for or the words it contains. And "One natain under God" does nto make this a prayer.
Ronclown 1 year ago
If only our government would listen to this and remember the foundation this country was based on... "from the people to the leaders" ... sadly our politicians think they should rule over us without us haveing any say.
This tenderhearted man says it with just feeling and love for this nation. If he were alive today I think he would break down and cry at the way the government is running this country into the ground !! Red, I wish to thank you for this. and RadicalRon1 Thank you

Can we send this to obama & the rest of the hoodlums ruining this great Country that we can still barely call AMERICA before they prevent us from calling it that?
GOD help us all!
In God We Trust, One Nation Under God. great post, I love it 5*****
mikestheman3 1 year ago
Red Skelton really meant that too. It's really a shame that "Under God" has been taken out. Thisnation was founded because of religious persecution and what Red said about that "Under God.....wouldn't it be a shame if someone said it was a prayer
and that too would be banned from our schools." Do the kids still say the Pledge of Allegiance in school anymore? I am just glad that Red is no longer with us for he would cry because a lot of people don't respect Old Glory.
Ronclown 1 year ago
@Ronclown

The battle begins with the school it seems.
saab4u2 1 year ago 2
@saab4u2 Unfortunately, there are pinko commies everywhere, ready to subvert the freedoms (and future liberties) of good folk everywhere.
And, schools are full of them, brainwashing our kids.
DunlopDaytona 1 year ago
The first grade teacher at my sons school should watch this to realize that the Pledge of Allegiance is not a terrible thing and that, when a child asks to say it, she does not have to tell them NO. They are trying to infiltrate and tear down our country but I will not stand by to watch. Here comes the battle with the school...
