    THANKS.

  • Lee Marvin always cried when he heard this song...

  • GOOD OLD HANK. BETCHA YOU'RE SINGING FOR MOM AND DAD ON THE OTHER SIDE!

  • This is what you call real country music, thank God it was recorded for all people to hear.

  • im 66 years young and i thank god i was around to hear hank and his music it is what amercia is about........

  • JourneyOne@comcast.net...I couldn't agree more..I love Pedal Steel Guitar...even bought one myself hoping to find someone to teach me how to play it but so far all I can find is music for it..Anyone out there willing and able to teach me for a fee...Please call me..Always Vivian 1-10-12

  • Isn't it just amazing that this is how radio shows were back in the day with real artists and bands that actually played in studio for me i have not heard much of this being born in 1990 but that is how it should be not pre recorded bull that we hear on the radio now today.

  • @marcman5109 The BBC did a lot of artists live.check it out.

  • great song.

  • thank goodness this old stuff was recorded, 1950 was only 60 years ago...so all the new music- filtered fabricated computer maintained music- have this old stuff to credit with making radio music so fun that it became big and grew..by the way, these old recording were made live at the radio staions and broadcast live, the band actually came to the station and performed and it was beamed out !!

  • @fuzzypige222 and the delta blues and folk players deserve credit for the "old stuff" from the 50's. Music evolves and both are fun.

  • 60 years or so on and he still does it for me.....thank you Hank!

  • prob the best ever, love you hank.

  • Iv'e heard Willie do this but this is the first time Iv'e listen to Hanks version, both are brilliant

  • live and in person, most acts today wouldn't even consider doing this

  • I think it's even better than Willie Nelson's version.

  • @MrRazorblade999 I agree and I'm a huge Willie fan. Everything that Hank did was "hard core" and that is the edge that is so difficult to hone in music. In terms of most important American artists, nobody is higher than Hank, not even Elvis or Sinatra.

  • @LesbianVampireLover there's like no other thank you

  • @MrRazorblade999 yeah i agree i like em both

  • Hank Williams was simply an amazing talent..no other country musician is on his level...his ability to really "grab you" and give you goose bumps is something else ...what a shame he died so young..his pain comes through in all his songs .. you can just feel the sadness of a love that will never be again is crystal clear here..

  • @ClTIZEN Nice display of ignorance and childish behaviour.

  • @MrRazorblade999 It's funny, you are using the word "ignorance" in entirely the wrong context. Ignorant of what? I don't think you actually know what that word means you stupid old bastard, now fuck off back to whatever swamp you crawled out of.

  • @ClTIZEN You need a good spanking, boy.

  • @MrRazorblade999 Would you like that you fag enabler?

  • @ClTIZEN get your shit and die m f g

  • @ClTIZEN Dude I am none of those things, and I never directly called you a yankee but I said you probably are one. And I don't believe in all the Christianity beliefs I am a spiritual person. To us there is no god we are all gods. Anyways, your the one that needs some education because I was trying to say that talking like that had no class what so ever.

  • @vmr2017 Despite your "class", you seem to have absolutely no grasp of the English language. Let me clear this up for you so you don't embarrass yourself any further: YOUR = possessive. For example, YOUR taste in music is terrible. YOU'RE = assertive. For example, YOU'RE a bit of a hillbilly. Do you not have books in the swamps? Do you not read any newspapers? Even the bible? Can you not figure it out? Seriously? It's embarrassing.

  • @vmr2017 u mad bro?

  • @ClTIZEN Come at me bro

    lol

  • @rds1958 I feel the same way! (:

  • :) He's my cousin!!

  • Why is it dat to really make it today as a country star you have to be on da grand ol oprey and say the right things. Forget that, I like this idea of old. Let your words, your voice and music tell us what and who you are. Thats what is wrong with country music today. No balls, afraid of being different, not one original note in their heads. This is why i love listening to artists like this gentleman.Thank you Hank.

  • Id actually never heard this. Id thought Willie Nelsons had to be the best version...now Im quite convinced that this is.

  • premier songwriter of the 20th century. he will never be surpassed and will be in our hearts forever. hank was a godgiven poet, the simple tunes were binary but the words were powerful!!

  • I want to be famous and sing like this somebody know a really good upbeat blues song I should post ???

  • This is the first song I sing after I come home singing "Help Me Make It Thru the Yard'

  • I love his song and his voice.

  • all I can say is i think hank jr should run for president! straight forward and dont ask a question unless you want a honest answer! this country needs a good shot of back bone! instead of all the fork tounge snakes that are ruining this great country!

  • @southernboy91chevy amen! you know he wouldnt take crap from no one! he would be the best president to get us back on track and make America the best it could be! he wouldnt sugar coat whats really happening and tell the American people whats really going on and what hes gonna do to fix!

  • @TheFarmerfitz --absolutely I knew what Hank meant, after all he's been saying similar since the 2008 elections & I was a long time Hank Jr fan, thus I realize he likes to rowdy on down but this time he took it too far for me--you may think I'm not ordinary but you are welcome to your opinion of me--I am just completely through with Hank Jr ---I like Hank, Sr & Hank, III--there's a lot of good music out there so hopefully we can agree to disagree--sit back and enjoy the music of your choice

  • the good stuff

    ...

  • Your opinion counts in America. It does not keep you out

of sink with the Constitution of the nation. WE are born and will pass

but never know the truth unless you can express it any day you wish.

That's America as Apple Pie and ' cussing if you like. God Bless You and Your opinion counts + or _ negative ... you go , we die for your right to say it.

for Freedom to express it any way you like.

  • @gwenneighbors What a disjointed rant that was.

  • willie is still unknown as a talented song writer

  • @pricetag956 You say it's unknown? So, somehow you alone are privy to this information?! Do you seriously thinks no one knows he has written thousands of songs, hundreds being major hits?!

  • aye que chinga hank

  • Your son is a dick. Love the original Hank.

  • @sstrohlo8 Do you not recall how low W Bush's popularity ratings were? In Jan 2009-- they were 22% lowest ever! W wasn't blessed by the people--we knew he went into Iraq without certain knowledge of "weapons of mass destruction," the man couldn't say a sentence intelligently...people recognized W was not a genius...but Hank has been mouthing off since the primaries of the 2008 election...it's time he learns there are some things your boss won't allow you to say--hooray ESPN

  • These radio shows were amazing! Such personality and real life, radio these days are dull, lifeless, PC, and pre-recorded. BRING ME BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS!

  • @slowstang88 Amen!!

  • @slowstang88 Hank assumed that the audience for this show was very small and so he was able to loosen up and really dig deep into the music and talk. What he didn't know was that the audience was large and very loyal and that the shows were being recorded for posterity. Thankfully

  • @RossM3838 Very good point, I'm just ecstatic that it was recorded for the later generations (I was born in 1979) and heard Hank all their life, but never saw anything but pictures really (like me).

  • I just wonder what Hank Sr would think of his son's political opinions which are so divisive and compare the current president to the most hated, evil man in modern times

  • @ladyeulailia i dont understand why you idiots are so disturbed about that, the libs drug pres. bush under the bus for 8 years [including madonna referencing his administration to the nazi party] and nobody gave a shit then, i dont think obama is hitler maybe a idiot but not hitler, but after what you people would say about bush i dont see what the big deal is

  • @ladyeulailia He would be the first to stick up for his kin!!! Most ordinary people know what Jr meant and it should have not been blown way up out of poportion!!!!

  • This man is beyond any other star on the Opry or whatever. There will never be another Hank. My deepest respect......

  • @dvdohlman I would love nothing more than to find a place that hires County Western Singers...!!! I live in NJ and there is no place I know of that has it anymore...I miss it sooo much...JourneyOne@comcast.net

  • Thups up if you listen this in 2011 these comments are overecycled but still i beats ASS thumbs up

  • this song is a tearjerker fer real

  • Hard to imagine that Hank never even saw his 30th birthday....

  • completely agree with ya ako

  • I don`t like country music but i do like hank williams

    he is a grand sing

  • these are the songs that were on the jukeboxes in the bars we went in as a child

  • Fred Rose was Hank's publisher, close friend and occasional writing partner. They saw the world through the same lens. Its not surprising that Hank would sing Fred's most famous song so well. He believed every word of it.

  • @RossM3838 Thanks for the info I knew Fred Rose wrote the song but was unaware he was a publisher (with Roy Acuff) apparently.

  • Some people are off in the head when they say Hank was a bad singer. If that is the case why did he get so many encores the nite at the Grand Ole Opry when sang Lovesick Blues?????? I don't care what people say he is TRULY THE KING OF COUNTRY!!!!!

  • Hank is the embodiment of country music.

  • ????? (question marks mean that your comment is incomprehensible) Did you listen to the song or just comment? What the man is singing is 1940s style country western or as they are nostalgically known today as 'old cowboy songs.' This is music you either like or hate. There's no in between...in that respect it's rather like hip hop I think.

  • @whiteboy3033 go away

  • hank doesn't need to be in the grand ole opry, he's in a class all alone. The opry is for stars and superstars, there was no name for the category hank's in.

  • @aknowneemus I'm pretty sure he did play in it though.

  • Comment removed

  • @klsygrms you are correct, i believe there is a video of roy acuff introducing him at the opry.

  • @aknowneemus You got that right

  • @aknowneemus see, words have meaning.

Hank is not only the word maker.

    He delivered the words.

All we have to do is listen.

"I'm so lonesome I could cry"

  • @icouldbecontacted these words he didn't write, this one's courtesy of mr. rose.

  • @aknowneemus That is true... He did sing some of Mr. rose's songs....

  • @aknowneemus I AGREE the best singer songwriter ever

  • @aknowneemus Your comment about Hank Williams said it perfectly.

  • my dad used to sing to me now i sing to my grand kids

  • the supreme ruler of country music

  • This beautiful song was written by Fred Rose. It was originally recorded by Roy Acuff in 1945. Hank recorded it in 1951 and Willie in 1975 on his "Red Headed Stranger" album. It has also been recorded by several other artists, including Elvis. It is thought to be the last song he sang (and played on the piano in his home) before his death.

  • willie did not write this song he redid it in honor to the great hank sr. all in all both guys are awesome singers and proformers

  • Comment removed

  • 13 people are out in the rain.

  • Hank Williams makes me wish I lived back then when music was like this...

  • Wow!!! I'm not a Willie fan at all, but always considered this the only song he sang well and the one that made him. I'm a huge Hank fan, and never knew he sang this (in fact I thought Willie wrote it nearly 30 years later). This totally shoots Willie out of the water (any time Hank is singing it obviously would, lol)!!!!! I was listening to Jumbalaya and saw this on the side. I thought it was too good to be true and must be fake until I heard it. Absolute gold!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

  • Hank sr. and Kayla Patrick sing this song the best, that Ive heard

  • I loved Hank William Sr songs ever since I was growing up. He the best one of all :)

  • Don't like them kinky headed fellas ,

    Me neither.

  • @88Thyra damn straight

  • A gold voice!

  • ..if Hank was still around and bumping elbows with us again, I don't think He would be bashing other artists & performers with negative comments. He did not have that kind of personality. (in my humble opinion)

  • @MisterSlothfull you called that one right my friend...thats not the country way.

  • @MisterSlothfull I agree. He wouldn't be bashing anybody.

  • @MisterSlothfull Your 100% right this guy was the greatest, He put country on the map like Elvis did for rock and roll. Hank jr. is just plain greedy when he knew he had a sister out there he only worried about money. Go get em Jet, you look more like your father than he does.

  • @MisterSlothfull To hell with with anyone who does not think HANK is as good as it gets . Do you know any artist who can go into a studio and record three #1 songs in one day today ?

  • Hank Williams was the real thing!

  • TO A GENTIEMAN , WHO LIVE'S IN THE UK , LET HIM SMILE EVERY TIME HE SEES THE POSTER OF HANK HANGING ON HIS WALL !! ( GOD BLESS HIM ) HE IS ONE OF THE GOOD ONES !!! REGURDSLESS !!! CHEERS GLEN..

  • Why do folks have to use such filthy language on here? I'd like to share music with some younger folks. All that filthy language just makes you look ignorant.

  • Toby Keith can suck one. He's a serious untalented piece of shit.

  • hank was also known as luke the drifter

  • he was the greatest DRUGS killed him just so the young listerners know

  • @realquet8 , are sure it was not the BOOZE ? I don't know

  • Hank lived it and no one could ever sing it better !

  • I love this version.

  • toby sounds like a damn goat. i put him in the same catagory as big n rich and rascal flatts... the almost country catagory.....

  • Hank Williams defies genre, obviously a great country musician, but his influence can be felt in everything from the blues to hip hop. A truely remarkble lyricist.

  • i listen just rap but i love hank williams song :)

  • Hank Williams is one of the best ever. So sad he died only 29. He would have had so much more to offer to country, blues, gospel and rock 'n' roll in the subsequent years.

  • I've never heard Hank Sr. sing this before...ty 4 sharing..Great Song!

  • Comment removed

  • Fred Rose wrote this back in the late 40's. It was first recorded by Roy Acuff,

Then Hank Williams, and a couple others before Willie recorded it in the 70's.

  • His voice is hauntingly good. What a gift to be able to listen to him.

  • I thought Willie Nelson wrote this song.......can someone please help me and set me straight? Thank you.

  • en.wikipedia(.)org/wiki/Blue_Eyes_Crying_in_the_Rain this should help u out

  • The legend!!!! Ladies and Gentlemen, Hank Williams.

  • Im like you sig, never knew Hank did this one but he was very good at picking, writing and singing great songs, thats what made him a legend that will never be forgotten!

  • Never knew Hank did this one but, it is great. Of course anything Hank sang was gret!

  • Willie: I know you listened to Hank before you recorded this one. [';

  • .....The "Hank" was a God!

  • @Shamagogue yes two gods in america ELVIS & HANK

  • i make an effort to try and purchase every record by mr. williams, and still i had no idea this was out there. a million thanks for posting! like christmas in june!

  • Hank is the REAL deal.

  • See that ad on the right? Damn tootin it obama's fault.

  • @joeasmythe damn, even hear, i can't escape your racist jack-asses... Jesus, Mary & Joseph!

  • @joeasmythe It's Obama's fault that Katy Perry supports Proactive? That bastard!

  • @clintpiercejr lmao

  • I heard another recording of this song by Hank Sr. It was a demo with just Hank and his guitar. In some ways it was even better.

  • @loverofcountry506070 i thought i had all his stuff, but i havent heard that. love to know where you found it if you can remember. not many things on this planet than Hank and his guitar alone.

  • @MrByaeger Sorry to say I can't find it. Being a "pack rat" I've accumulated too much stuff. It was on a three record set(331/3). I got it on my 11th birthday in 1956. I played it countless times and remember "Blue Eyes Crying in The Rain" very well with Hank and his guitar.

  • @loverofcountry506070 well thats ok, and thanks for answering. i grew up with this song from Willies " red headed stranger" album. it is an important part of my childhood too, my best friends mom would play it on 8 track on the way home from the laundry mat in ohio. just knowing its out there with just Hank and his guitar somewhere will give me a new hobby i figure. When i find i will send it your way.

  • He's not singing in to a fan. The recording is off a radio show broadcast about 65 years ago before all this de-natured hi fi and digital stuff was thought of and faithfully portrays what I would have heard on the old battery wireless when I was a boy. The quality of popular music seems to have gone into reverse over the past half century - instant gratification is what its all about these days - pandering to the lowest common denominator - Hank was the real thing................

  • if he was still alive there wouldnt be any of this rock and pop "country". you can put all that "country" music on the radio but people who like true country music will always play the greats

  • I grew up in the West Midlands UK and when a child I remember listening to Hank many many times. My Dad was a big fan of Hank and also the Hobo Jimmy Rodgers. I love Hank and am so happy that we can hear AND see Hank [Jimmy R too] on You Tube...I like Hank as Luke The Drifter too [as they are heartbreaking songs, you have too choose your time for these].

  • I think I just figured it out! When you see thumbs down on a video that obviously doesn't deserve it I bet you anything those people hit the wrong thumb by mistake.

  • Hank was a true patriot, not much like ole skanky willie n.

  • @joeasmythe Dolt

  • @joeasmythe Oh come on now. Willie Nelson is a patriot. He smokes weed...is that why you don't think that Willy is a patriot?

  • @MegaBeerwolf Yeah, a patriot who cheats on his income tax and puts down Pres. Bush for fighting a war because most of Congress approved it, and he got bad info. regarding WMD

  • @MegaBeerwolf It's Willies song. Willie is awesome . But he's not Hank . Nobody is

  • father of modern country, all country fans can respect ole Hank, even though he was wild as a pepper, but pure as the moutains...RIP/Hank williams... your music will always live on ....

  • nothing against the song or hank. but does it sound like he's singin into a fan or is it just me. lol

  • I like this better than Willie Nelson's version but then I like Hank better than Willie in general.

  • I love it by Hank.

  • It's wonderful to hear this version of this great song by the king of country.

  • so wonderful to hear Hank's voice talkin to us on the radio from across the ages.

Sure would be good to be able to go back in time and shake Hank's hand and thank him for all the great songs and the memories. He's my kind of man! RIP Hank Sr.

  • Hank williams wrote over 1500 songs in 13 years with many of them never recorded, and some sold to other artist, and many are completely lost forever, no one has surpassed him and no one ever will. His songs were a mixture of hymms, heartbreak and lonliness. He sold quite a few for a six pack of beer at some honky tonks in Alabama, and it would be embarrassing to a few artist if I named some so I won't. You are remembered forever, RIP HANK

  • FANTASTIC.

  • peace.

  • @boscoruby Dont forget Kenny Chesney either . Like Garth Brooks its all about marketing . These oldtimers stepped to the mike and sang . Remember Chris Gaines?

  • @boscoruby TOBY IS GOOD

  • @boscoruby Amen

  • This was a surprise. I had it in my head Fred Rose wrote this tune in 1954. Turns out it was 1945.

  • pay no mind to the no Sayers I love this

  • The 10 people who have disliked this, can kiss my white hairy ass!

  • We need more like Hank nowadays.....

  • 10 people must be Justin Beiber fans.

  • Fred Rose huge influence on Hank Sr. they collaborated allot of great songs!

  • In the twilight glow I see her Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain.

As we kissed good-bye and parted,

I knew we'd never meet again.Love is like a dying ember.

Where only memories remain. Through the ages I'll remember

Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain.

Now my hair has turned to silver. All my life I've loved in vain.

I can see her star in heaven. Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain.

  • @willsandroses Hank must have written the "hair has turned to silver" stanza. Even Roy Acuff didn't sing it that way.

  • it is a SIN talking bad about hank......period

  • @michaelvienneau He's a

    cowboy not a God..dummy.
