@blacksmith835 I think the drummer or keyboardist does it in the studio, so they just played it off the album with the other instruments.

This is not really playback in reality. In fact, the lead guitarist also plays bass during the recording of albums but in live he plays lead guitar. In an interview, they said they prefer have a "playback-bass" and not have a bassist who can't understand Wolves.
