i have one with a dimarzio tone zone p-90 sized bucker in the bridge and that smokinp-90 in the neck, ialso have a pelham b lue custom shop,custom pro one of 50 made, and i like tthe studio 50 better, i swear ido
I've tried one.To be honest, the 60's Goldtop looks and feels like a toy guitar in real.Litteraly light as a feather, the worn finnish is not very nice, and for the first time with Gibson I saw a PLASTIC jack plate wtf?That plate can break if not sat down gently. You'll have to buy a hard case if you want one, theres just a gig bag included. The one I tried was set up bad so can't say much about playability, and I didn't plug it in. Think twice before buying this "amazing" guitar
My $2500 Historic '56 Goldtop has a plastic jackplate, FYI. Not a big deal to upgrade if you think you'll bust it. These Tributes are pretty damn close to getting the same tones, esp. if you get to choose a really sweet one. You are saving a HUGE amount of money and getting a very good guitar, much better than other Studios, IMO.
I have the new version with humbuckers. Same color. Love it! I ordered the P90 version, but they sent me the wrong one. After playing it, I decided to keep it. :) Great guitar for the money!
@Guitarvirtuoso666; @ZKDanika P90s are Single Coil pickups just like Fender Strat or Tele PUs, only with a wider coil. Hence they PICK UP more noise than a humbucker PU, but they do not PRODUCE noise. Stay away from computer monitors and neon lights, use regulated power supplies, avoid excessive gain and your sound will be as noise-free as you can possibly hope for!
Good show... your body language while playing almost bests that sweet sweet tone.

The P90 better or other Gibson humbucker (57 classic Burstbucker Pro etc). What do you think? Great playing and tasty sound!

These 50's and 60's tributes are amazing guitars for their price.
Check out an 11 year old playing his gold top 60's tribute and judge for yourselves.
Look for "Soft rock eléctrico" (guitarrista de 11 años)
:)

1 question . Are those pickups very noisy ?

@ZKDanika
in case he himself doesn't answer: yes they are, P-90's are the noisiest pickups out there
