Why do pro football players make more than doctors? Because that's what the market says. That's capitalism. Do you want to have laws made that decree what members of each profession should make? Pool cleaners should make more than barbers. Nurses should make more than plumbers. Accountants more than airline pilots. If someone offers me a million dollars a year to clean their toilets, I'm not going to say, no that's not fair that I am making more than MDs, I going to take it.

And also, how is it a special fucking right? People should be able to marry whatever gender they want. Letting gays marry hardly seems to be guaranteeing them "special" rights.

They should get to call it marriage if they want to. What I'm talking about is in Iowa, where gays can marry (and actually call it marriage, instead of a stupid civil union), there are conservatives wanting a vote on marriage... so they can take away that right from the gays. Thus taking away a right a JUDGE decreed we should have here in Iowa. It's not constitutional to vote to take away a right it has already been decided gays have.

nobody's forcing gays to deny their attractions or raiding gay marriages in churches. gays can freely express their feelings of love in a church and get all the benefits that come with marriage through civil unions down the future. however, as soon as you step outside the private realm of RELIGIOUS marriage and enter into the public sphere of CIVIL marriage, you are subject to the law and public opinion or vote because civil marriage is about public policy.

how do you take away a right that doesn't even exist in the first place?
gays and lesbians have always been allowed to marry someone of the opposite-sex for the purpose of procreation and rearing of children which is what the state promotes according to over a centuries worth of federal constitutional law. What your proposing we do is create extra special rights that exist outside the constitution and common sense
