  • Great song-one of my JP favorites-nice job!

  • always been a favorite 4 me (your version)!!!

  • I've been "Macynized". Can't get enough. I just listen over and over again.

  • Wow!!! 12 years old, how old are you now and do you have any current videos? My name is Rhonda Radetzki. I would love to be your facebook friend.

  • very nice , what kind of thumbpick are you using?

  • I don't remember. This was recorded when I was 12 years old. It was probably a modified Dunlop. That's what I use now.

  • @busker12 In your other vids it looks like this pick has an extension and goes back farther on your thumb

so it has no possibility of rolling or coming off, is that correct ? You said it was modified , How? you do it yourself? I like thumbpicks but when playing live you always are worried about it rolling. Thanks for your help. You are superb.

  • It is just a normal Dunlop thumbpick. I modify it by cutting down the point so it isn't too long and making the loop smaller so it fits my thumb better. You can just dip them in boiling water to reshape them. Sometimes it wants to roll or come off, but I just fix it on the fly.

  • I love the sound of your voice, it's relaxing.

  • Nice...end of chat.... ENJOY..

  • you did a great job with this newer one of JP's...one of my favorites

  • Hi Young lady, what a great rendition of John's song, I love the sycopation, could you break down the way you are playing in terms of the strings you are hitting?

  • Unbelievable! You are great! I love your voice, its so honest and natural. It is rare to hear someone sing honestly and not some manufactured junk that is so popular. People will copy you one day guaranteed. You have the potential to be remembered long after your gone. Keep the honesty in your voice and always sing from your heart.

  • One of my favorite John Prine songs and played excellently and song beautifully..you go girl!..

  • Top notch! I see you learned it the same way I did...tabs are for suckers ;)

Your voice reminds me of Iris DeMent. Have you heard her sing "In Spite of Ourselves" with John Prine?

  • First Class. Great vocals in a home recording, a little hammering, and some runs. Your technique is better and more reliable than mine. Not much more one could ask. Really like Prine and you are a compliment to his music. Keep it up and keep your own style. Hope to see more . . .

  • very 60's sound...awesome!!

  • Hey very nice

  • You are an excellent guitarist and you have a nice, original voice too.

    Great performance!

  • beautiful.

  • Great song. I love your guitar playing. Is there anyway you can show me the tab or sheet music you used for this. I've got the chords just can't figure out the specific pattern. Please help. Great job on the solo.

  • Glad you like it. I don't have any tab. I just made this version up from listening to the recording.

  • very nice!

  • It is D7 with F# (bass) in place of the D chord that you play, for the rest great job!

  • Thanks. I think that does sound better.

  • good job!

  • Great job! I don't like the style of the singing but you do it very, very well. That's not a personal judgement so please don't take it as such. Your playing is excellent. I can only imagine how well you will play when you're in your twenties.

Just curious. I'm a gear junkie. What kind of guitar is that? At first I though Guild but no. Q#2 is that a Cascade Fathead and a SP-B1? LOL Sorry.

  • My guitar is a Petros. It has Claro Walnut sides and back, and an Englemann Spruce top. It is a model FS (finger-style). Petros guitars are made in Wisconsin.

  • Really nice playing! Hey, Macyn I have a question for you: do you remember GinaMarie, the incredible irish fiddler in Milwaukee? She plays the green fiddle... I met her once after a performance, we got to talking and she mentioned that you also played at Divino Gelato, she said to give you a "hi!" if you at all remember her. Keep up the great work! -Callie

  • It is a real treat to see and hear a young lady that can really play finger style guitar. I especially liked "steam engine train". Are you tutored or are you self taught? I would really like to know. I am positive you have a great future in music.

  • I was self taught until I was invited to attend the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. I am now in my second year as a finger-style guitar student.

  • Nice job -- you play that song just beautifully.

  • I just figured out who you sound like Macyn.

    Iris Dement
