You guys rock....I love the commentary and the cars are fantastic!!!.....Most people don't realize that these cars needed walked off the line...not sqawling the tires and losing traction! Pure power and fun respected!!! I doubt most of today's drivers could even begin to figure out what respect means with cars like this! Thanks for the great videos!!
Hi Bernie, Cupcake runs the Jack Lord special through the gears better than Danica Patrick! Book em' Dano!! I'll be watching for Cupcake and the Cyclone. But in my neighborhood watch for Five-0 they will getcha!
Buyin' old 4 doors doesn't take much dough! All our cars are drivers - not trailer queens. If I got a chip in the paint - I'd probably never notice. Stay tuned - more 4 speed vids are in the works...
Hi 4spd. Cupcake is not afraid to make that old Breezeway Merc stand up and bark! No power steering and no power brakes. That Boeing engineer was all about speed and economy (relatively speaking) in a land yacht. Bernie, I think you should let Cupcake run that gem of a Comet through the gears for the next video. And if the neighbors don't like it they can move!
Hey ya Mike! Cupcake's not afraid of anything and she's already plannin' on time behind the wheel of the Cyclone - yes - watch for the vid coming soon. I'm thinkin' some drivebys in your 'hood perhaps - that ol' Cyclone kinda has that goosebumpy vintage NASCAR sound - need some more of that...
That's a neat old tach. It was a kit assembled by the original owner, Mr. H.G. Robinson, an engineer with Boeing Aircraft in Seattle. Apparently he did not want an original Ford tach because it would mean cutting into his dash pad. His tach still works today - 47 years later.
Yes, it has the Breezeway rear window. I han't thought of a surfboard - but that's certainly do-able. I think the first owner used that window feature to carry lumber - something the Mercury designers & ad guys didn't anticipate...
Like the bloopers at the end. It's a little newer than what you show on your site, but I'm working a deal for a '70 Olds Cutlass right now. $400, and it runs! A little rough, but what do you expect for the price?

My dad had a 64 Merc Breezeway 4 door with a 352 automatic and no power steering or brakes I learned to drive that big car when I was 14.

Did it come stock with a floor shifter?
biglinc1 1 year ago
Hello,
Yes it did. It was a special order placed by a Boeing Aircraft engineer in late '63.

Unusual combo and in a 4 door! I meant the car! My 66 Galaxie is 4 speed and no power anything! Was 3 on the tree once upon a time!
gokomets77 1 year ago
Nothin' better that no options - enjoy your Galaxie 4 speed - how about a vid? Let's see one!

Does that have the (surfboard) rear window that goes down? [So you can stick you surf boards inside the car] that what I thought as a kid...
