nwnwiz is right. The fact that DH many times reach people who may never walk into a church is nothing short of a miracle. I myself was reached by them through God, at a time when I was very jaded with Church and feeling alone in my faith. Not just because they're a metal band, but they did show me I was not alone in my struggles, and my will to overcome. I know many of their fans feel the same. I'm not sure if i'd even be here today if it weren't for their music, and message.

This DVD that they released with STGOH was really lame. Like 10 minutes of them tlaking, and one music video from the worst song on the record lol, not that its a bad song just that the rest were better. I was excpecting like a half-haur of interview, some live songs, and a full show. Not just like twenty or thirty somthing minutes of them talking.
There are absolutes in life, but when it comes to gray things, right there's the key i believe. Why are bands like Demonhunter doing what they do? Can we really say it's good or bad when it's truely a judgment only God can make?
It's about the heart, something only God can judge.

Also, Gods Spirit within a person produces "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance..." (Gal 5:22-23) When this music is played without the lyrics what do you see the audience do? They start moshing, head banging, and violent emotions coming out. Just the opposite of what Gods Holy Spirit produces in a person
so its ungodly to get into the music and bounce ur head around? moshing is all in good fun also because its i guess a form of dancing, sure its violent but pretty much every form of dancing can end up violent. so what ur saying is christian music cant have any variety and is only limited to one type..

I have heard tons of unsaved people say they love the "music" and not the message. Jesus said in John 15:19 "If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you." Some of the messages are Godly and the unsaved hates it but they love the music. But Jesus said the ungodly will hate those who stand for Him but the heavy metal genre has a huge followings of unsaved people
well thats perfect for this genre, in the bible jesus has dinner with the "scum" aka the tax collectors and what not. They are the ones who really need help and thats why demon hunter reaches out to the individuals who like this type of music
My belief on God's view of Christian Metal is that God not being human, and not being corrupted by the world, he sees Christian Metal as just another form of music that glorifies him. Unlike a lot of people, all we can see is the bad thats in non-christian metal and we relate christian metal to this and can't see it as good. (well people like you anyway.)
I agree with that, its a really good way of looking at it. I can listen to demon hunter and still feel close to God. Call me weird but the words are praising God. right? Should it matter how they are spoken, screamed or sang softly, God hears it as his children praising him. And that's all that matters.

Metal breaks the laws of Sanctification Jesus prayed about in John 17. Sanctification is God setting us apart from the world for a process of being made holy. In John 17 Jesus was about to leave this world and He was praying for His disciples. Not that God would take them out but keep them from taking part of its evil ways. Every one agrees that rock/metal was developed by ungodly groups (the world) By placing Godly lyrics on ungodly music is violating John 17.
u must not know the meaning of these songs. they are probably more godly than alot of songs people sing in church. most of the songs sung in church u could swich god out and put in a girls name and it would make a good love song, these actually have a deep personal meaning

The very style of metal music it to draw attention to the music and the musicians. The extravagant clothes, tattoos, violent head banging, aggressive guitars and drums, and aggressive camera shots in the videos clearly show that the attention is given to the performer and not the Savior.

#1. Thats sounds like it means that YOU are suppose to understand the bible. #2. The music isn't violent, thats just what stupid people say about it who have no clue about the actually meaqnig of the words. #3. Someone's got to minister to the metal heads. #4. That can go with many popular christian singers today, not just the Metal Christian bands. #5. It's not doing evil. What is evil about making CHRISTIAN music #6 Again, you can say that about a lot of christian muscians.

Also, Gods Spirit within a person produces "love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance..." (Gal 5:22-23) When this music is played without the lyrics what do you see the audience do? They start moshing, head banging, and violent emotions coming out. Just the opposite of what Gods Holy Spirit produces in a person

so its ungodly to get into the music and bounce ur head around? moshing is all in good fun also because its i guess a form of dancing, sure its violent but pretty much every form of dancing can end up violent. so what ur saying is christian music cant have any variety and is only limited to one type..

I have heard tons of unsaved people say they love the "music" and not the message. Jesus said in John 15:19 "If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you." Some of the messages are Godly and the unsaved hates it but they love the music. But Jesus said the ungodly will hate those who stand for Him but the heavy metal genre has a huge followings of unsaved people

well thats perfect for this genre, in the bible jesus has dinner with the "scum" aka the tax collectors and what not. They are the ones who really need help and thats why demon hunter reaches out to the individuals who like this type of music

My belief on God's view of Christian Metal is that God not being human, and not being corrupted by the world, he sees Christian Metal as just another form of music that glorifies him. Unlike a lot of people, all we can see is the bad thats in non-christian metal and we relate christian metal to this and can't see it as good. (well people like you anyway.)

I agree with that, its a really good way of looking at it. I can listen to demon hunter and still feel close to God. Call me weird but the words are praising God. right? Should it matter how they are spoken, screamed or sang softly, God hears it as his children praising him. And that's all that matters.

Metal breaks the laws of Sanctification Jesus prayed about in John 17. Sanctification is God setting us apart from the world for a process of being made holy. In John 17 Jesus was about to leave this world and He was praying for His disciples. Not that God would take them out but keep them from taking part of its evil ways. Every one agrees that rock/metal was developed by ungodly groups (the world) By placing Godly lyrics on ungodly music is violating John 17.

u must not know the meaning of these songs. they are probably more godly than alot of songs people sing in church. most of the songs sung in church u could swich god out and put in a girls name and it would make a good love song, these actually have a deep personal meaning

The very style of metal music it to draw attention to the music and the musicians. The extravagant clothes, tattoos, violent head banging, aggressive guitars and drums, and aggressive camera shots in the videos clearly show that the attention is given to the performer and not the Savior.
