Really? What "scientists" are you referring to? The Mayan calander you're referring to is cyclical and is meant to start over. Your calender stops at the end of December every year, but the next day a new year starts. It would be impossible to make a calander that accounts for every day on into infinity. You have to base it on reoccuring cycles, whether those cycles are 365 days or 26,000 years. There is nothing in Mayan proffecy or mythology that suggests that this marks the end of time.

There was the exact same hype for Y2K. People thought a global meltown from electronics failing was the end. Didn't Happen. Mayen Calenders have no saying of the end of the world. Someone assumed that because the final cycle ended on 12/21/12, it was the end but, that's not true. Also just cause a coincidental number theory of 9/11/01 + 3/10/11= 12/21/12 IS ABSOLUTELY a coincidence. Don't worry, nothing will occur, but if something does, i'll try to make my death quick and painless.
