@Bugy34 Somehow I don't think putting a knife in it's head would have caused it to 'suffer' less. But the idea that it feels pain the same way we would isn't quite correct. They have a different nervous system - similar of that to a grasshopper. While I'm sure it isn't pleasant, it doesn't feel the same way to them that it would to us.

@Bugy34 Did you know that if you kill lobsters before boiling them you run the risk of getting foofd poisoning because lobster meat spoils extremely fast like in under a minute after it is killed.

There's a reason you're supposed to drop them head first guys. The lobster feels no pain at all because as soon as its brain touches the boiling water, it instantly dies. I'm sure stabbing or freezing the poor thing would be torture.

If you wanted it to be humane you should have put the lobster in the freezer 10 - 15 minutes prior to cooking which would have painlessly killed.

What are you doing? How would you put a beautiful animal into steaming hot boiling water? Would you want to die in a boiling water? Have you ever put your hand into the hot water and how many seconds could you resist that? Probably not more than 1.5-2 seconds...

next time, take the rubber bands prior putting the lobster in the pot. Use scissors.

@Idtelos That's actually not great advice. They are still alive at that point and can pinch you. Taking off the bands after they have been boiled will keep you safe and does not effect the cooking of the lobster at all.
