It would have been great to be a part of this version of the ride.. I am only familiar with the Jeremy Irons and Dame Judy Denche..

My wife informs me that she went on the Vic perrin version.. Original version!

It's really sad i went to Disney last month and I get very annoyed when i ride Spaceship Earth...It's not the same anymore.. Even my wife who would snore during this ride admits the original was far better..

what is the rare chance is people petition Disney to bring back the old ride again.. I know this sounds insane but so what the hell.. You would be surprised what can get accomplished by people's displeasure of this ride..

OMG I hear the bumping sounds at the beginning of tomorrows child. I used to hate that but now miss it LOL. I was little and all I can remember was bouncing in the seat LOL.

I am not sure, this camera cannot pick up some lighting, and this was late 80's here, so it may have changed in 1994.

I have a feeling that old ending is coming back. There are figures installed that look like those old screens and it is rumored that Tomorrows Child is coming back.

@omg122448 You may be right, maybe the ending isnt finished yet. I was there last march and they had the emergency lights on at the end when you go backwards and we were able to notice everything was covered by a black cloth. We wondered if they arent 100% done with the ride and maybe the ending will have part of classiscal spaceship earth.

@soggyaugie They didn't add those dim triangles for nothing. Before the stars at the end I was looking at the celling and saw light sources for fiber optics, they were lit but I couldn't see where the fiber optics ended. They were also blinking. If you look at the celling there is mesh that looks like it is going to serve as some effect. I also saw what looked to me like light rods. I have a feeling there wont be any scenery but some nice light effects. Maybe they will bring back the city.

The original Spaceship Earth was a classic and I have to say, had the best ending of all of all three version. I like the 2008 version the best overall, but dispite the fact that the new version's touch screen stuff is cool, the original 80s version had the most charming ending.

I wasn't around for this version of spaceship earth and it looks really cool (well atleast the parts I see) and I do like the new version, but the one before the refurbishment was really nice. I wander how it would look if they kept the song at the end for the version before the touchscreen.

But it's nothing to like, hate disney about. Sooner or later all the rides will be changed. Tho the older versions could be and sometimes are better, they're always going to be changing them. Like half the rides there are now might be renamed or changed completely or taken away and replaced.
