@Crosisborg "Oh and it's only called "gay marriage" by assholes like you."
LOL, and you spend your whole time calling people retards?? I don't know what world you're living in but everyone calls it gay marriage. Gay people, politicians, civilians, etc. It's called gay marriage and that's what liberals, militant gays, and people like you are fighting for. You know good and well that it's a special right.
@RepublicanCookie ...Militant gays? As in, the ones that exist inside your own mind? Seriously, you may need a reality check asap.
And the reason people call it gay marriage is so people like you know what everyone else is talking about. Funny how the "majority" has to have a separate vocabulary to ordinary people...*sigh*
This is a very silly analogy in that Christians or Muslims getting married doesn't re-define marriage. What it means is that they're learning from the Hebrews and trying to follow more in their footsteps. But notice how when Christians or Muslims get married it's still called marriage, not Christian marriage or Muslim marriage, like it's called GAY marriage.
I'd accept it. Why would I want to be associated to a religious concept that I despised anyways? To me, it makes no sense to merge a civil union construct with a religious concept that has been around for centuries.
LOL if it weren't for us Christians there wouldn't be any AMERICA and you wouldn't have ANY rights LOL talk about a "dumbass" lol Read the bill of rights... we are endowed by our CREATOR,,, NOT CONGRESSMAN lmao this is way to easy..
2 guys living together is just that 2 guys NOT a Marriage. Here is a simple equation Man plus woman= children, life, future generations
Man + Man = 0 , AIDS
Woman+ Woman=0,?
so the equation is clear homos are NOT equal to a man and a woman LOL
Who told the homos that they were equal to a man and a woman??? What parents do for their children in terms of time, money, worry , selflessness NOT selfishness is in no way comparable to 2 guys as roommates with a cat? Why don't the alleged non-bigoted , loving, open minded, intelligent homos just work on CU's? instead of tearing down America..I know why because they are a bunch of lying, loser weasels who are just trying to get us to pay for their recklessness and perversion.
Tell me how 2 guys living in an apartment is any different that 2 guys living in an apartment with a cat?! homos are in no way shape or form equal to a man and a woman who engage in a unique union that perpetuates our society and all that goes along with it. 2 homos are virtually identical to 2 guys living together, and why don't they get benis. Could you imagine going into your job as a straight man asking your boss 4 benis for your "friend" at home who doesn't have a good job?
Canada's largest protestant church (United Church) supports same sex unions as well as homosexual church members! So do Unitarian Universalist, Quakers, Metropolitan Community Churches, and some Anglican and Jewish congregations. God loves homosexuals and so do I.
obviously they don't see it as being against their religion, otherwise they wouldn't do it. They see everyone as being worthy of God's love, and don't see anything wrong with sharring love between same sexes. There's a documentary on Youtube "For The Bible Tells Me So" it's about homosexuality in Christianity.
There is no other God but God right? And to worship other Gods is a great great sin, so, I don`t understand how I don`t see any christian person protesting against other religions, I guess it should be ilegal to believe in other Gods if you really have such strong beliefs that you will not tolerate a homosexual couple get married because the Bible says it is wrong. Yet we see that there`s so much hypocrisy going on, christians do tolerate other Gods and beliefs but not my lifestyle, mmmh, why?
Very well agrued point. I thought that in America, we would have been beyond this shortly after the Brown v. Board ruling, but apparently we are not, thanks to religion.

Moreover, if the government refuses to allow gay couples to marry, it will stick in people's minds that marriage should not be equated with gay civil unions. Even if all of the rights are the same, they still aren't equal, otherwise they'd be the same thing.
I live in the U.K. where our government introduced "Civil Partnerships". They were unwilling to upset the religious by calling it marriage and perhaps they felt the legislation would be passed more easily if they avoided the marriage term.
I agree that civil marriage should be available to all fully consenting adults.
fakesagan- :) you desire to desperately place me in this mold you've fashioned in your mind as does Crosis and others...you shouldn't try so hard as the truth is much simpler, although certainly not as noteworthy and attention grabbing as some would like but im sure you know this. peace
@Francie32 Wow! such an insightful NOn-bigoted rebuttal so so typical of the left. 2 guys living together are in no way shape or form equal to a man and a woman who sacrifice themselves to bring life into this world like NO one else can. The time , money , blood sweat and tears in raising children is EQUAL to raising a cat to you? lmao homos are shaming the benis system to take care of what ? Their roommate with aids. For all the propaganda of being smart they have THEE highest % of AIDS why??
@carlindelco You are the bigot. Some people are gay. Get over it. Maybe you are so stuck on protesting b/c you are the gay one. I embrace all of humanity, ALL, if you don't...then you are the one losing friends, I have nothing else to say because arguing with losers is boring...
@Francie32 Actually YOU ARE the Bigot! You are the ones who want to change American culture and rip off tax payers and business owners. A grown man getting benefits for another grown man who stays at home playing with a cat? I mean how much of a loser is that? Is that fair to str8 guys who are roommates? That is more similar to homos than homos are to traditional Married couples
Who told u 2 dudes are equal to what a man and a woman does?
@Francie32 LOL you have nothing else to say because u can not refute my argument.. you don't need religion to deny this farce, California is bankrupt because of crap like this and with all that going on in the world today the homos are worried about a term Marriage and getting benefits for the loser half at home. wow Just like the Bible predicted " lovers of themselves" so true..
If you're going to say I'm dishonest you should back up your comments with proof. Otherwise, perhaps you should grow up and stop throwing out stuff that does nothing but show your incompetency to formulate an argument without attacking my character.
Next time a xtian mouths off about gay marriage, point out:
"I would like everyone to be unmarried, like I am. I say to those who are unmarried, especially to widows: It is good for them to remain like me." (1 Cor 7:7-8)
According to the Bible, God would rather have no one marry. Badda-bing, badda boom.
I disagree. If, for the sake of argument, they were the exact same thing as you said, why would it matter what you call it. Saying there's a difference because one word has "an emotion" sounds irrational, like something a theist would say. And besides, who's to stop a same-sex couple from saying "we're married", if there's no difference?
These people are not only lying to people about science. They lie about American History, people of other religions, ateists and homosexuals. For a group of people who know that lying is a SIN in their religion, they have no problem in lying and bearing false witness.
I think that pretty much sums up Crosisborg point about how marriage has a certain feeling/image to society. (not only to society, but to the people themselves imo)
I posted a video response to him and he denied it because "it was not a direct response to his video". So what? It answers just about very question he asked. I am not going to make the same video within a small time period.
Marriage shouldn't be a legal institution at all-and as thus, it is neither legal nor illegal, as the government just shouldn't interfere. Civil unions should be the only legal institution, and those should have no religious or spiritual connotations, and in that case, discriminating against homosexuals are basically against that one amendment-the equal protection one...
When you first think of something to say, you don't always have the ideas formed perfectly. If you say you do, then fucking die you fucking liar.
Same with him. If anything it shows honesty. That he isn't just one of the script-reading mindless sheeple. That he wants to get the point, and his beliefs, across to as much people as possible in a peaceful manner. And that he speaks his mind.
Scapegoatism is a part of every human society in the world. In America, gays are the current scapegoat. Scapegoating is a negative aspect of group dynamics. In difficult times, people vent all of their frustration on a seemingly less powerful minority group. We see our concept of a prosperous, free, and good America being replaced by a reality of an elitist fascist America. Instead of confronting the elites, people attack gays. Thus: "You fucken faggots aint getten no rights!"
Americans are getting screwed by the government and by the elites who control the government. It would take some actual thought and courage to confront those in power. No, instead, Americans bash the gays. Prop 8 was a huge cry from middle class America: "We're fucked, but at least we're better than fags."
In the cold light of day, no one gives a shit about homosexuality. It's a distraction and gays are a convenient target to vent people's frustrations. That's why rights have to be universal.
I think you have alot of great things to say in this video and i'm thankful you said them. Though I am worried that the people who NEED to hear this will be turned off by how you prefaced the video.
But all in all, from some gay bloke you don't know except through a comment on YouTube... Thank you.
Just curious as to why you would bring Jack's name up? Is there supposed to be a vid showing that he was went "off" on? I would like to actually see it
I would take civil unions anytime. The popular opinion around here is that we should have neither so throw me a bone and I'd take it lol. And if they convicted people here for hurting gays I'd be ecstatic. I live basically in a backwoods area (ok close to backwoods type areas) in the Bible Belt. I don't think it's equal but it's a start.
LOL about the restrooms. Actually I think that places that supply mens' restrooms with urinals have fewer toilets than the womens' restrooms, so it kind of evens things out. I really can't believe someone would try to use that argument.
The marriage issue is a power play by "christians" & incorporated "religions".
Gays want the rights that they are guaranteed under the U.S. constitution & Bill of Rights. The "holy" people see themselves as "better" than EVERYONE else & practice EXCLUDING others from their rights because it is an EGO trip.
Gays aren't going to just let these turds walk all over them. They want the SAME rights in the SAME society that they are already GURANTEED.
no marriage and civil unions are not equal. I understand the proponents of gay marriage want marriage and they aren't going to settle for less, so ultimately there will be gay marriage in the end. However, can you understand people's aversion to changing something as important as marriage after it has meant one thing (and so much to so many people) for so long?
no i dont think so dude, if you'd like to cite examples of homosexual couples being married in mass over the past few centuries im all ears. Granted, homosexuality hasn't been socially acceptable until just recently. Also, marriage in the sense that we're talking about it is simply a civil contract, or civil union. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with God.
Rome and Greece had, so far as we know, no problems with homosexuality. And insofar as that, no logical opposition with "gay marriage".
And that doesn't mean that they had to perform "in mass" marriages or record all of them when they did occur. Logic: no opposition, no reason not to have happened.
Technically all civil unions were based with God (or a god) as a witness, like a covenant between people. So it is under God (even if he doesn't exist, since the base was thought to be under God).
My fav. thing you said was "It was never yours to begin with". Going off of that alone it should show that how they feel about gay marriage doesnt matter, its wasnt theirs, their opinion and what they want doesnt matter.
The problem here in the US is we let marriage be defined by religion.
My parents were married in Belgium in 1955. In Belgium marriage is a function of the state, you get married at city hall. People wanting to get married in church do so AFTER the civil ceremony.
No civil ceremony=No marriage. It makes much more sense, that's REAL seperation of church and state.
Do people go to their preacher for the divorce? Marriage and divorce should be a state matter. Church marriage optional.
@justintempler " separation of church and state" where is that written? That only applies and means that CONGRESS shall make no law. The States have the ability to have an official RELIGION... u prob don't know that
@justintempler Ahhh what law?where in the constitution is that? The supreme court is the Judiciary they do not write law. Ahh YES they can The 1st Amendment if you read carefully states that " Congress shall not.." That would be the federal government. NOT the state Is English your second language? Why is God almighty mentioned in 47 state constitutions? Why don't you read the preamble to Alabama's state constitution Virginia's Gen. Assembly protected the established church in law. LOL 2 easy
@carlindelco So which official state approved religion do you belong to? Catholic, Baptist, Protestant, Mormon, Muslim, Janism, Hindusism, Scientologist? ...
The governemnt protecting established religion is completely different than sanctioning it.
Case in point the federal ruling to remove the 10 commandments monument from an Alabama courtroom., so much for the preamble of Alabama's constitution...Explain that one to me.
@justintempler hah PS I know I am argue with idiots now.. when someone quotes something that doesn't exist.. not even know where or what the context that extractions came from and the kicker .. you don't even know the difference between the federal constitution and state rights.. But actually this is a tragedy and another glaring example of the FAILED education/indoctrination school system. In the early 1900 all Americans understood the Constitution better than most attorneys do today!
@justintempler LMAO I win!!!! You have No rebuttal which I knew of course.. because there is NO refuting the TRUTH!! You really need to decide which is it that you want.. your ideological bigoted hatred of America OR truth.. because you can't have both.. you ideology is in diametric opposition to reality ,historical fact and the very foundational truths that has made America great and unique..Read the 5,000 year leap and learn about the true American history
@justintempler Well that's what I have been doing if you think about it.. oh wait that would be the problem u can't.. which leaves me arguing with myself.. because any factual statements fall on deaf ears... I win!! thanks..
The Government has no business handing out marriage certificates anyways. Civil Unions for EVERYBODY. Nobody get's a marriage certificate unless they go out and find a church willing to give them one. There's plenty of liberal church's out there. It's none of the governments business.
I heard an idea about getting rid of marriage all together as far as the government goes and offering a civil union type thing for any 2 adults. It doesn't have anything to do with sex or romance, just a union thing. So like, 2 siblings that live together for whatever reason or whatever else you could come up with i suppose. Does that sound like a well, sound idea?
This was one of those issues that I always tried to avoid, b/c quite frankly I'm not for or against gay marriage. Honestly.

(The bathroom thing was just....moronic.)

Different but equal is unequal. Enough said.
RedXIIIx 3 years ago
no marriage and civil unions are not equal. I understand the proponents of gay marriage want marriage and they aren't going to settle for less, so ultimately there will be gay marriage in the end. However, can you understand people's aversion to changing something as important as marriage after it has meant one thing (and so much to so many people) for so long?
mattschol 3 years ago
Actually marriage has almost always meant just the union under God of two who love eachother...
The rest is just now being argued against/for...by the Montheistic assholes, no less...
onijester56 3 years ago
no i dont think so dude, if you'd like to cite examples of homosexual couples being married in mass over the past few centuries im all ears. Granted, homosexuality hasn't been socially acceptable until just recently. Also, marriage in the sense that we're talking about it is simply a civil contract, or civil union. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with God.
mattschol 3 years ago
Actually, homosexuality was perfectly acceptable until Christianity started spreading.
Wanetae 3 years ago

Briena1982 3 years ago
The problem here in the US is we let marriage be defined by religion.
My parents were married in Belgium in 1955. In Belgium marriage is a function of the state, you get married at city hall. People wanting to get married in church do so AFTER the civil ceremony.
No civil ceremony=No marriage. It makes much more sense, that's REAL seperation of church and state.
Do people go to their preacher for the divorce? Marriage and divorce should be a state matter. Church marriage optional.

Agreed.

@justintempler " separation of church and state" where is that written? That only applies and means that CONGRESS shall make no law. The States have the ability to have an official RELIGION... u prob don't know that

@carlindelco " separation of church and state" where is that written?"
United States Supreme Court rulings...that's where..
u prob don't know that.
The states do NOT have the ability to have an official religion.
justintempler 1 year ago
@justintempler Ahhh what law?where in the constitution is that? The supreme court is the Judiciary they do not write law. Ahh YES they can The 1st Amendment if you read carefully states that " Congress shall not.." That would be the federal government. NOT the state Is English your second language? Why is God almighty mentioned in 47 state constitutions? Why don't you read the preamble to Alabama's state constitution Virginia's Gen. Assembly protected the established church in law. LOL 2 easy
carlindelco 1 year ago

@carlindelco calling people idiots now are we?
I'm done with you troll. have fun arguing with yourself.

@justintempler LMAO I win!!!! You have No rebuttal which I knew of course.. because there is NO refuting the TRUTH!! You really need to decide which is it that you want.. your ideological bigoted hatred of America OR truth.. because you can't have both.. you ideology is in diametric opposition to reality ,historical fact and the very foundational truths that has made America great and unique..Read the 5,000 year leap and learn about the true American history
carlindelco 1 year ago
@justintempler Well that's what I have been doing if you think about it.. oh wait that would be the problem u can't.. which leaves me arguing with myself.. because any factual statements fall on deaf ears... I win!! thanks..

The Government has no business handing out marriage certificates anyways. Civil Unions for EVERYBODY. Nobody get's a marriage certificate unless they go out and find a church willing to give them one. There's plenty of liberal church's out there. It's none of the governments business.

I say that if they have the same definition and provides the same rights, why don't they let them be called the same thing?
onijester56 3 years ago
Truth right there. If its equal why are they so affraid?

And still someone decided to mark my comment negatively. Idiots in this world need to face the truth.
off topic a little, I's actually good to have someone support my ideas...Maybe we can work on forcing all people to open their minds...
I'll work on the cram-a-matic as soon as I can...after Christmas vacation.
