@poorlymadeproduction Really? If you played Hotel Mario itself, you'd find it's an enjoyable, if average, arcade-y game. It'd probably be excellent Wii material.

Speaking of which, Nintendo obviously ripped the idea straight from Phillips. I mean come on, a remote that also functions as a controller? "Button 1" and "Button 2" also existing on the CDI? It's just too coincidental to not think they took some inspiration from them.

@KawaiiDesuNekoBCSK well i have played it and to be honest i was offended because they pretty much ruined mrio with the cutscenes and the levels are good its just the controls screwed me up infact if it where about anything but mario and just some random gam,e about two random poeple who had nothing better to do than to shut doors while poeple are trying to kill them i would have loved it

PHILIPS spent all the money on music for this and the zelda games so they had no money left for the cartooon cutscenes! (The gameplay is decent, especially hotel Mario, wich is a nice little arcade-ish game)

@Terryracoon Just a small correction: Philips didn't make these, they oversaw production and farmed out the games to small developers. The first two Zelda titles were developed by Animation Magic, ZA by Virdis, and Hotel Mario by Fantasy Factory. They gave all a very limited budget so the gameplay became flawed as a result. Though I wouldn't exactly call the Zelda CD-is "decent"...mildly amusing or mediocre, maybe, but with horrible cutscenes.
