consciousness is NOT our brain. An analogy might be that the brain is a switchboard between the mind (our consciousness) and the body. Exactly what Bob is teaching us - as have so many others before and since - is that we are not our bodies. We are not our brains. And so there is no death. We just recycle into another body

@nhlpens There is no consciousness in the brain in the sense that it exists as subtle energy fields around a living object. Perhaps it can be said that you/your 'consciousness' posses your body and when your body dies your consciousness goes elsewhere.

@morton420420 - Bob Monroe passed away on 17 March 1995. I was fortunate enough to be able to meet him one week before he died, at a Gateway program at the Monroe Institute. I was at the last talk he ever gave for Gateway participants. Brother, he was an OLD SOUL if I have ever seen one! :>

Individual focus is an illusion and byproduct of biology. Jung was correct about the universal MIND to which all humans are attached as though by a special umbilical cord that is never disconnected. Mankind is really a single organism in terms of MIND and the individual mental focus (phases) respond in a process of cognitive differentiation. In a sense...
