  • quick question where can i get a rechargable battery device for a powermat & the dock for a laptop?

  • Thanks tesla!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @yamumishot2001

not quite what Telsa was doing.

  • Comment removed

  • @menacekop1 That's right...He didn't have a blackberry...I just didn't think!!!

  • Seems nice. I wasn't expecting full wireless obviously, but I wish we could do that someday.

  • not worth it at all the commercial made it seam like u could stick any device on their and charge its a recession ur better off using a surge protector for $10

  • I dont think the case looks ll that bad

  • soooo i buy a stylish, white device like a phone/mp3 player/ipod only to put a ugly and bulky black box around it.......had it worked like in the commercials i'd buy it.......but like that.....it sucks..............WHERE IS NIKOLAI TESLA WHEN YOU NEED HIM

  • wow if you get right down to it! this pointless bull shit device is just a piece of shit ha retarted

  • Okay if it could possibly power your fridge without an increase in power input, then why shouldn't we use it? could you imagine, you could run a whole house off one powermat with all your devices in cases.

  • i know dont you think putting that thing on is more of a pain then just pluging it in i mean if you cant plug a phone you just suck

  • hahah exactly! shit! u have to b]put some bullshit thing on ha wtf the point? it just like pluggnin it in! ha i wld buy it if it didnt need those things

  • speak English, this isn't a text message to one of your high school buddies

  • looks nice and everything but too expensive for something you don't really need at all

  • RIP OFF piece of s**t.

  • I thought it was cool from the comercial..because it looked like you just tossed your device onto it. Now that I see you have to put on some stupid adabter I'm not very impressed with it, especially since it's so expensive.

  • So for $139, I can avoid the pesky chore of plugging a small cable into my iPhone to charge it? This is the dumbest thing I've seen in a while.

And that laptop charger... WTF! Why would I set my charger on that if I still had to plug a cord into my computer? And pay extra to do all this.

  • I will park my car over it!!!!

  • if u buy this crap u have to pay 100 for the mat or 100 on the portible and the resivers r about 30 this is GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • this is the most pointless invention since the dvd rewinder. another solution looking for a problem. how difficult is it really to just plug the damn phone in? way too expensive and the cases are clumsy and bulky.

interesting concept and technology but it fails in terms of practicality

  • i wonder if a power mat can charge a power mat.......

  • that would generate too much power and destroy the solar system...dont try it

  • but what would you do with the powermat charging the power mat. you would need a power mat to charge that power mat.lol

  • @steelekilla101 hahahha

  • I want to hear some statisctics. Will charging with this device make it charge faster or slower? If it could fully charge my phone in an hour then hell, sign me up. I always find myself in that kind of fix. But I doubt it.

  • Never going to catch unless they cut down that price. So to charge your cellphone on a novelty mat, it's going to be 100 dollars for the mat plus 40 for the special case. That's 140 dollars to be able to charge your phone through a mat. I think I'll use the wall charger that came with my phone.

  • THE laptops charge wirelesly.....with a plug XD

  • Now a laptop would make the most sense in this case.

  • rofl. its a good idea but fails. so no cord but u cant move it..... id rather have a cord for my laptop and be able to put on my lap than set there next to wall. they need to figure out a way to use radio waves to charge. that would be worth it than.

  • That would defy the law of physics. Radio waves could not safely carry electrons. Electronic devices charge with DC while current going through the air would have to be AC. If you don't know the difference head to google.

  • lol. im saying that would be usefull if something like that could happen. but powermat is retarded. solar rays are still a possibility if u could manipulate them.

  • I can't wait to see the day when we manipulate the sun.

  • ok, this would be cool if i could just set anything on there and it would charge but the fact that everything has to have its own special, somewhat bulky looking case, makes this idea a flunk in my book, sorry powermat, when i first saw this product i wanted it now, did some reasearch and now want it never.

  • in some way it is a wireless charger but for the device to complete the it's purpose, wouldn't a wireless charger mean to stick that receiver to the back of a device for it to charge but you would be able to move around with it. And what about small phones like the juke from verizon

  • its really really cool but waaaaaaaaay to expensive. if u were to have only three things u want to charge it would be $220

  • yeah its an okay idea but for the price its so not worth it...

  • its a good idea but y would i spend atleast 140 to get rid of one wire. 180 for 2 wires.

  • Powermat should comewith some cases or something. Though if they can make a wireless charger that I can set on a mat with out needing a certain case I think I may get that.

  • the powermat is stupid, having to buy a very specific case for each device is such a rip!!!!!!!!!!!!!! besides its not truly a wireless charger

  • what a rip off... just use a wire, and charge it that way. i was looking foreward to this coming out, but having to buy cases for devices is a joke!

  • so i gotta spend 100 on the matt and another 40 for my mytouch phone and another 40 for my ipod and another 40 for my xbox controller.....or i can just use what i got for free with my phone, i pod, and controller and use 3 outlets....i dont pay for electricity so screw it.. this is gay

  • how is this a wireless charger? you still have to place the device on the mat, its not like you could walk around and your phone is still charging "wirelessly". I think is it the most stupidest thing i ever seen. And they want over $100 for this. I guess this product is good for those people who are REALLY REALLY lazy people. But seriously, they need to stop saying that is wireless charger, THIS IS NOT WIRELESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i dont understand. does it only charge a blackberry since theres only a case for a blackberry? -.-

  • aswell as the iphone 3g / 3gs / touch / all blackberrys / nintendo dsi

  • if i cant charge my HP digi cam, my Samsung Jack, or my xbox controller, i dont need it

  • Technology can't get better if u keep saying all the new stuff is bullshit. They need customers. I hate people that don't help mankind progress they actually hold them back. Then they complain. FAGS!!!!!!!!!

  • it's cool, but definitely not worth is or even groundbreaking new technology. worthless.

  • it actually is new technology you fucking dumbass.

  • Gee dickwad, I didn't know magnetism was new, seeing as how it is a part of our Earth and every day human life. Go ahead and buy it and see how fucking worthless it is for yourself. it only works with DS, BB, and iPod, so I hope you own all of those as well, and like having a bulky and otherwise worthless case around them. Go crawl back in to your mother's snatch.

  • You just lost.

  • I have to wonder, why are you such a stupid useless shit?

  • i don't care what anyone said's im buying one, i hate useing cables

  • this is bs, more shit to buy, just for a "convenience" of wireless tech. i dont trust it. most wireless you have to buy betteries, and still theres no guarenteed connectivity. wireless charging would make alot of companies lose alot of money. so if they do get it their going to hold off for a while, so everybody can get their own "rightful share" of money. its all bs.

  • It's amazing how little you actually understand about the product. And yet here you are, speaking as if you're an expert, or even have a remote idea as to what you're talking about.

Here's an idea, keep your mouth closed when you're not speaking, so the next time some uninformed little shit nugget of wisdom rolls off your brain it won't accidentally land on your keyboard and grace us with its ignorance.

  • HEY !!!!! TU es Stupido!

if you understand so much about the product, why don't you tell us how this is WIRELESS???? dum ass mother fucker....

  • You can speak when you learn how to spell and enunciate, you mouthbreathing mongoloid fuck.

  • I'm not saying that this isn't scientific progress, but why don't you just plug in your device. Until there is wireless charging, I don't see much point in this because you still have to have your device 'connected', in a sense, to something.

  • The lap top charger doesn't look like a good idea unless it have a longer cable whit more multiple ports so u can put a lot of lap tops at the same time!

  • why dont they just magnetize people so we can charge the device just by holding it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh and i talk on my phone when it charges i dont think it would work to well with that method lol

  • interesting idea

since our body can conduct electricity they should be able to find a way to do that.. eventually

but that could over load your battery if your holding onto it too long o.o

  • well what if they made it so it was not so much a battery, but if it was something like when u hold or have it so close to you that its kind of like "plugging it into a wall"

but then there are all kinda of disadvantages to that idea...

  • that already sounds uncomfortable haha

  • lie, it does not charge at normal speeds, it charges at 85% efficiency not 100%

  • great now we get cancer faster

  • lol

  • @Hivefleetbryan

lol, did you even watch the video or are you really that dumb?

  • This is a stupid idea. More trouble than its worth at the minute.

They need to get the technology imbedded into products factory standard. Who wants a silly case or a 'wireless cable' to charge their stuff?

  • It would be great if it was slightly magnetized, to keep your stuff from gliding of :]

  • This will be much more impressive once they start building the technology into the devices instead of having those cases.

  • ha your right. they either will, or power mat will make it so companies cant, therefore they make more money on the cases.

  • Well, it's useful. When you get home you just dump your mobile technology on top of it and in the morning pick them up.

  • so to charge a laptop, i get a powermat and a dongle, is then plug the mat into the wall, then put th dongle on the mat then plug into the computer..... hmmmm as oposed to walk to the wall plug in, then plug into laptop hmm

  • When the main unit is lowered to $39.99 and includes several different device cases PLUS if you order NOW we'll include a second set for FREE.... thats when it'll take off........but WAIT theres MORE!!!!

  • I like this, however abit pricey if I would get one I'd use to charge ipod, phone etc that I usually take everywhere when I go out.

  • A little to pricey for the cases that go on the items but that should lower overtime.

  • i think pandaman0529, you've mistaken me with someone who cares about what the rest of youtubes users think, this is pretty much an anonymous "conversation" here, i'm never gonna meet you or anyone else i "converse" with on youtube.

maybe that's because i have a social life aswell, oh wait, did you take that personally? maybe that's because you're the one with the insecurities, i mean, why are you reading this if it's not a reply to you're message?

yeah, i thought so, BEATCH! P

  • shut the f*ck up jenny, nobody cares :P

  • EPIC FAIL! DO THEY THINK WE ARE STUPID?

1st: you have to plug in the mat itself

2nd: you have to plug something into the machine because it's not compatible with the mat.

3rd: the thing costs 100 dollars and the things you plug onto the machine cost 30.

    TOO MUCH

ALOT OF PLUGGING AND ALOT OF WIRES

    NOT WIRELESS

  • The problem everyone seems to forget is two-fold... one, its a new device. as in any new device, it will have its bugs and you will have to deal with it..second, if it was as easy as laying a device on the mat and let it charge without a using a special adapter for the specific device, then it will sell very well..

  • way too expensive i wouldnt pay a grip of money to charge something when i could just plug it into the wall

  • whats the point in it?

  • You liked wireless internet?

    Then you'll like wireless charging.

Having no cables is useful and cool, fool! ;-)

  • But is not wireless its stuck to a big magnet

  • In a similar way your stuck to this Earth.

Anything beyond this board would require someone figuring out Tesla's long-distance electric energy transfer. Anyway, let's be realistc - Powermat is a good start.

  • it's a "start", i wouldn't say a good start, are you seriosly gonna pay $140+ just so you don't have to plug something into the side of your phone??? why not swing by spec savers on the way home and buy a monocle too LOL

  • I wouldn't pay even $100+ for it. Personally, I would consider it at around $40.

What I'm saying is that this is (relatively) new product on the market and the price is set accordingly. There always early adopters, i.e.geeks in a particular market. They're prepared to pay more to be first to play with the technology. If they have the cash, of course. ;-)

FYI, the 1st iPhone users payed 33% more than people who waited for ~3 months. The price of being the 1st geek on the block. :-)

  • i havn't got a beef with you, i just can't stand listening to PR people talk shite lol

  • Doesn't powerful magnets erase/harm data on the electronics?

  • It would mess with Magnetic Strips such as on Credit Cards and such ... At least i would think

  • The powermat does absolutely no harm to any person or anything that a person is carrying, including credit cards. Yes, your credit cards will NOT be demagnetized, even if they are touching this product.

  • how do u know this...

  • shut up atferber, yer 18, ye don't know sh*t

    LOL!

  • Its simple high school physics...

  • and your what 16?

  • Exactly. Simple high school physics. Magnetic flux, etc. Judging from your assumptions and conversation manner, I bet you couldn't even differentiate between a diode and a transistor (without the help of your friend Mr. Wikipedia). Don't have much but potatoes in Ireland do they?

  • ye havn't got a bleedin notion

  • I should be saying the same to you. Have you "got a bleedin notion" about how this device works? Or how credit card magnetic strips work for that matter.

Sure I am sixteen, but I do understand. Age is irrelevant in this conversation. It is knowledge.

  • listen, go shove a hot potato up yer arse, i'm not wasting any more time on a sixteen year old ponse, no need to wikipedia that, it's just a picture of yerself ;)

here's something ye obviously havn't learnt in school, nobody like a smartass

    HWAH HWAH HWAH

  • Nobody likes a dumbass either.

    "HWAH HWAH HWAH"

You obviously haven't had the level of education suitable to hold a decent conversation with a sixteen year old. Your use of insults and failure to adhere to the original argument's purpose clearly shows a weakness, maybe an insecurity about your own intelligence level.

Basically, go ahead, spew all the insults you want. They just further prove your weakness. I'm not a smartass, I'm just smart, and you obviously are not.

  • Any of you guys ever see mythbusters? some of the strongest magnets in the world cant even erase credit card data. and magnets are in all sorts of things. Even speakers are just electromagnets.

  • niodinium i watched what you said

  • You have your facts wrong, they did erase the information on a credit card with an rare earth magnet.
