Yes it can take off on short grass........and I find that the plane tends to be nose heavy if anything, so just trim up maybe starting off with 2 or 3 clicks of your elevator and go from there. Get the plane air born first then start to play around with it's trim.
@Nosey10 the other thing to be aware of on this place is that if you go full throttle on grass and it is not going fast enough when it goes up it will snap hard to the left. there is alot of power and weight with this PZ. you gota get some air over the wings or it will go hard left. the flaps REALLY help on landings
When I give full power on takeoff mine noses right over on the prop? Is this normal or do I need less power or is something set up wrong? I did put the optional retracts and flaps on it.
@6Sally5, The stock motor in the p47 is larger than the power 10 so you would be making a big mistake if you switched it out. I have everything as stock with the electric retracts and flaps, and it still has lots of power. I would also say that it is the best flyer that I have and that it flies like nothing else out there. I up graded my corsair with a power 10, now it doesn't fly as well as it did when it was stock in my opinion. For sure it has lots of power and I can put it in a strait climb
First of all this plane looks amazing. The detail is flawless. It has the motor of the Extra 300 so it is much faster than the T-28 or Corsair. All 3 are great planes but the P-47 takes the prize. I took off with the retracts, pulled the gear up and belly landed in the grass. Not a scratch on plane or the bottom of the cowl. This plane flies on rails and with dual rates and expo it is VERY stable at low speed and VERY responsive at high rates. I give this plane 7 stars out of 5. It rocks!

@warwickcorvette1 I have one...very cool plane, but want to upgrade the motor to Power 10 before I add the retracts. What did you have your expo set at? Thanks.
Man I hope that that roll in the video was not all it had. They were either trying to make it look scale, or this is going to fly just like the t28. And for a warbird, that's really not what i want. But with a 15 size motor vs a 480, and a 25c vs 15c, It should fly like a warbird. But then again, once we load on our flaps and retracts, it may need all that.
Awesome looking Plane (one of my all time favorites), i just wonder why the retracts and flaps are not coming preinstalled in the BNF Version, most of the Fans will put them in anyway, still great looking Plane...definitely one for my wishlist
@steveoh2395 looks like it has very scale flying capability, but should have no problem flying in a manner that is aerobatically more aggresive should one choose to fly it that way. Warbirds aren't aerobats, where they really shine, is doing the kind of aerobatic manuevers that you would expect in dogfighting.

I've just bought one, also bought the E-flight electric retracts for it. Also fitting the flaps, using a couple of spare servos.
Bought the BNF, as it was only £50, considering there is a RX, Batt and charger.
