Yeah Master at Arms! Get some! I tried doing this here at Corps school only to muster the next day and have my platoon LPO tell us to drop our sleeves because someone showed up with them down. Never again.

@Namikaze1230 i can read, thank you for the heads up. but after reading the policy that the Commandant released, i left a comment expressing my mild objection to the new restriction, on a video that demonstrates how to roll sleeves, which is no longer within policy boundaries.
Did someone just ask if they had an option to wear it up or down? Bloody hell mate USMC and USN wear sleeves inside out that's why in previous wars locals called them White sleeve to tell the were USMC
It's the ARMY that wears the sleeves with facing out side in
@TBKSLyCooPeR It depends on what your command wants you to wear. Sometimes they want you to have your sleeves rolled, sometimes they don't. You don't get to choose what you want to wear. lol
@TBKSLyCooPeR It usually depends on the season. For example, during the summer, you're usually going to have your sleeves rolled. And in the winter, down. But sometimes, depending on the situation, your command will make you do something different.
Awesome. I'm an MA and I used to wear that uniform. I wear desert cammies now, but I'll be wearig that unifomr again soon. Your sleeves look sharp as fuck shipmate.
In the AF, we roll the cuff of our sleeves back over the thick part to make the uniform a uniform color instead of the ends of the sleeves being much lighter than the rest of the uniform.
Im in Civil Air Patrol, and I was wondering, why do different branches roll the sleeves of their bdu's differentley? In CAP I'm pretty sure everyone rolls it so the colored part is on the outside which is much harder than just rolling up your sleeve. Personally, I think it looks better this way so I don't mind the effort to get it right. But yeah, just curious.
Just wanted to say, man...I'm US Navy, here working on a Marine base in Yuma, AZ and even though I roll my sleeves a bit different than you, I watch your video every Monday morning when I'm rolling mine....I love the non-talking; you just go and get the job done...very relaxing and theraputic...like a game of golf, or turning a record over to side "B." Thanks for the weekly motivation....!
Thanks. I bought a BDU from a surplus storenear me, but I live in texas so it's damn hot. It has been over 100 degrees every day for the past 6 weeks.
@TheKommykiller no you have to earn the right to wear it. in the marines everyhting is earned. the poolee shirt is the last thing you will ever be given

In recieving they will tell you to roll your sleeves, and you will see everyone else's sleeves look like ass. Then on black friday, your drill instructors will probably teach you the way. In Canada it is against regs to iron the cadpat operational uniforms because it screws the IR coating on the uniform. It makes it much easier to roll the arms too because there is no need of an iron.
I love how a simple instrucional video turned into a bitching fest.. does it relly matter why people join the service? the point is that these men and women are keeping your ass safe so you can paint your precious pictures. stop criticizing troops just because you want everybody to believe what you want to belive.
Great sleeves man! they gotta be the most perfect sleeves i've ever seen!
@xXMoshxTilxDeathXx thank you! finally someone realizes that. my dad was in the air force for 4 years and i want to join the navy, and all he keeps saying is how low of pay that they get. i said to him, they dont care what they get paid.
@userunavailable3095 there are better ways to prove your worth other than killing brown people with advanced weapons... you could write a poem or paint a picture, or learn a skill. but i guess to people who like being told what to think it is important to fold their sleeves in a perfect crease.
@obSCENEoneTW0 I guess that means you believe in a perfect world where everything is all sunshine and lollipops, and there are no mean or evil people of any color who would ever hurt anyone? Must be nice. I guess you don't think that brown people ever need to be protected from other brown people? Or white people? Or yellow people? Or what the heck does the color have to do with it people? Why does race enter into this at all? Do you think there are no brown soldiers?
@obSCENEoneTW0 Thanks for the compliment, but no, I'm not in the military. Actually, I write poetry, paint pictures and have many skills. But I've gained enough wisdom to get my mind out of the box yours is in. Utopias can't exist, and people who try to create them always end badly, because they are too naive to understand human sin and evil. There will always be evil. That includes some among soldiers. But most of them are pretty altruistic people. Open your ears and mind.
@userunavailable3095 oh okay so you are just a patriotic american, as long as evil corrupt people are in control than the world will be in perpetual warfare. i know a lot of people in the army, my brother is in the army, and altruism is low on the list of why they joined the army. i think after $, the second reason on the list would be blowing shit up, right after that would be killing shit. so i think you are the one thinking in the box my friend... bombs for peace? doesnt make much sense.
@obSCENEoneTW0 Umm, no, I am a former far to the left wing liberal, who learned to actually think and research for myself, instead of thinking only government approved thoughts indoctrinated in public school. Sure, bombs for peace sounds silly, if you are silly enough to think that the whole world is peaceful and altruistic except for the US.

@pmarine81 yeah im not going into the marines. It has never once crossed my mind that i want to be a marine. BUT, you cant just send out marines to do the job. you need evey branch. But to have a little fun, at least we know that the branches we are going in arnt sausage fests hahaha
@daft4life actually all branches are paid and insured the same we all have the same health care i dont know where you got your info but thats wrong and you can send marines to do any job
all branches are not equal. the air force gets a shit load of money and the best gear even though they don't do shit. the army guys shoot each other, the navy runs around in blue camies (WTF???). i usually forget that the nat. guard is even a branch and the coast guard...? really? the marines are the best. bottom line. we make the most out of the least. in the end, we are all on the same team being a service member gives you the right to talk shit!
@crankingsteve1 recommended that you do iron after every step. It ain't required, but it is that much sharper looking. Even if you roll them with the cuff showing, like me.
damn, like putting your asses on the front line wasn't enough. How long does it take you guys and girls to get ready? If your willing to risk your life for this country the least the government could do was let you roll your sleeves. Marine's & Navy do look good in uniform though :)
I am not in the military yet so i dont actually know from any experience but i have heard ironing your uniform ends up damaging the uniform. is it true?
@ArmyofUglyAnon is it because they have 300 pockets ur not aloud to use? well they have the spiffy little pen holders and thats about all you can get away with using.
This method works for small Marines but I have 18 inch arms it doesn't work for me. I have a 32 inch waste and weigh 180lbs. I should wear large utilities but have to buy XL . oohrah!!!
Wow, does this work with the new digi utilities? My husband, love him, tries so hard but ends up, usually with Gunny Rolls. So I thought I might learn to roll them for him.
If one of my Marines ever used this meathod, I would give them an UNSAT on an inspection for improper care and cleaning and also those sleeves are not rolled properly as they can not be unrolled easily. You also took 10 times longer to do it this way than the proper way.
@Kodiakian1 What a fucking ignorant statement. Where would all the grunts be without the non-grunts, that would be DEAD. All Marines wear the same green and have the same uniform regulations you fool. For rolling up the sleeves, the Navy follows the Marines reg. I EAS'd before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye. BTW 8 years as 0352 so go shoot up and continue doing so until you die. I pray that you have not reproduced as the gene pool does not need your level of ignorance.
(the pleat effect in knees allows flexibility!!! look at your & youll the the skin is folded!!! bend it & youll see they disappear while the skin stretches & knee's & elbows have harder skin!) the best uniform is like the body!!! since our skin does not restrict us▐▐▐
i let the cuffs decide the wideness of my sleeve rolls!!! anyways if the armpits of a uniform allow aspiration there is little need for rolling anyways since in summer its best to cover the arms cause from sunlight!!! but rolled sleeves are cool & they free the elbows!!! to bad there are no high boots to allow the same freedom for the knees▐▐▐
Yeah Master at Arms! Get some! I tried doing this here at Corps school only to muster the next day and have my platoon LPO tell us to drop our sleeves because someone showed up with them down. Never again.

damn, like putting your asses on the front line wasn't enough. How long does it take you guys and girls to get ready? If your willing to risk your life for this country the least the government could do was let you roll your sleeves. Marine's & Navy do look good in uniform though :)
MissBreBerry 1 year ago
I am not in the military yet so i dont actually know from any experience but i have heard ironing your uniform ends up damaging the uniform. is it true?
pele42891 1 year ago
look at how sloppy that shit looks.
i'm pretty sure i prefer the Army's way of doing shit.
DustinTheGoth 1 year ago
This is a much faster and easier way to cuff!!

I got to wear my sleeves rolled up one time. It was during KP in OSUT. (Army Tanker)
danvega18 1 year ago
@danvega18 Its more of a Marine thing
RebelliousPatriot 1 year ago
@RebelliousPatriot
It was an Army thing as well, but the AC.Us do not permit the sleeves to be rolled
ArmyofUglyAnon 1 year ago
@ArmyofUglyAnon is it because they have 300 pockets ur not aloud to use? well they have the spiffy little pen holders and thats about all you can get away with using.
RebelliousPatriot 1 year ago
@RebelliousPatriot yeah but USMC rolls their sleeves because they dont blend in with shit so they might as well do do green lookin shit

the new navy digi camo's have the last 3" of the cuff rolled back over so the back side of the fabric doesn't show.

This method works for small Marines but I have 18 inch arms it doesn't work for me. I have a 32 inch waste and weigh 180lbs. I should wear large utilities but have to buy XL . oohrah!!!

Does this style of folding work for the digital marine uniform?
Skyline750 1 year ago
yeah it does you just need to use alot of steam so you can see the crease mark
sergeantjeremy 1 year ago
wow thats not easy

This style of folding won't work on Air Force ABUs.

Robbob9933 1 year ago
@Robbob9933 UNSAT, for sure.

Kodiakian1 1 year ago
@Kodiakian1 What a fucking ignorant statement. Where would all the grunts be without the non-grunts, that would be DEAD. All Marines wear the same green and have the same uniform regulations you fool. For rolling up the sleeves, the Navy follows the Marines reg. I EAS'd before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye. BTW 8 years as 0352 so go shoot up and continue doing so until you die. I pray that you have not reproduced as the gene pool does not need your level of ignorance.

(the pleat effect in knees allows flexibility!!! look at your & youll the the skin is folded!!! bend it & youll see they disappear while the skin stretches & knee's & elbows have harder skin!) the best uniform is like the body!!! since our skin does not restrict us▐▐▐
Czaendermajer 1 year ago
i let the cuffs decide the wideness of my sleeve rolls!!! anyways if the armpits of a uniform allow aspiration there is little need for rolling anyways since in summer its best to cover the arms cause from sunlight!!! but rolled sleeves are cool & they free the elbows!!! to bad there are no high boots to allow the same freedom for the knees▐▐▐
Czaendermajer 1 year ago
thank you. It's realy helpful :)
