to get the jet i think you have to beat the jet dude or or you will have to pass a mission were an autobot tells you that you have to scan it like the chopper

if you become a vehicle that flies (or any transformer) fly over a building and descend until you are touching the top of the building. i descend a little more just to be sure. then you transform and begin doing melee you will be floating (but you can't move in any direction or you'll fall.
