Awesome tune and best version! You should hear the version on the 2007 remaster... it's been butchered down to 4 minutes and it really isn't as good...
yeah this is Killing Joke killing funk. i musta played this song more than any other on the cd i have of this album, except maybe Exiles. Such awesome bass and drums - with Geordie riding over it all. Yes the sound is too polished and too clean (no surprises for the mid 80s!) but it just keeps driving and driving relentlessly and in the day it blew me away. and today too. I kinda wish they had this rhythmic clarity, drive and melody more often but with more of "Extremities" venom...
@878commando Yeah, I guess people weren't expecting this kind of sound after, say, 'Turn to Red', 'Land of Milk and Honey', etc etc. It was actually my first KJ album, so I didn't have that problem, heh.
I had the cassette version of the album when it was new - this was pretty well my favourite track. I love the sentiment...
I know many people reckon the early stuff was better, but my intro to KJ was when University Stagecrew put Love Like Blood on to test their gig rig - and at 50+ yards it went right through me :-)))))
yeah dude my english teacher had this and said after one listen to it, he gave it away. i was like WHAT??? this album is the shit! too bad this song wasnt on the LP version. its not on my copy i have. i have it on my pod however. Wintergardens also is not on it. instead Goodbye to the Village is. i think i got the 87 Spanish release....oh well. i know the UK release didnt have Victory as well.....his favorite by KJ is Fire Dances
@RuudVanPistolrooy They were (and are) a very eclectic band, which probably has something to do with them never getting a huge amount of recognition, and is a HUGE part of why they are absolutely brilliant!!
Nice song! I have most of Brighter Than A Thousand Suns, but not this track. Interesting changes. I can really see where Faith No More were influenced by Killing Joke with this song.
I like Killing Joke, I prob like their pre-nighttime era better but this song is pretty catchy and upbeat. Almost reminds me of a game called Dracula X from the PC-Engine.

@878commando because they refused to sell out to the US market after Love Like Blood hit the charts

The way the guitar and bass interact is quite possibly the best I've ever heard.

Love KJ. this sounds like the spin off of the brilliant singles of the 80's?? dont you think???

A lot of people hate on this album, but for me it just shows another side of KJ and yet another style of music they have total mastery over.
The play between the bass, drum and guitar parts is just superb. 5*

Haha, I didn't know the album had a bad rep... Yeah, I think it's great that KJ are THAT good at such a broad spectrum of stuff.
