instead of giving it one big punch of throttle and releasing the clutch, should feather it in and out and then give it one big punch as you let it out, so instead of going closed throttle to open, go closed throttle, dip the clutch, rev it and close it slightly a few times and then release. This keeps the bike up and you don't have to be soo violent with the throttle when your up. that's why you were losing it. Smooth throttle and easy on the rear brakes. 1st and 2nd shouldn't need rear brakes.
Keep trying and you will get it, just make sure to keep that gear on man ;)
--Gotta give ya props for having the sense to be practicing away from other vehicles and people, too many people wanna risk the lives of others just to learn a stunt
dude dont get to clever i saw a guy get killed today he was going about 50-55 mph near my home i was on my way to college and he lost controle doing a wheelie and smashed into a post took that out and his body was chucked like down the road and the bike was compleatly fucked it was a gawjus yamaha r1 it was his own fault were not sure what happened he was doing a wheelie and let cluch out well well to quick just saying i wouldnt do this on a road....
may i say as well as good vid and good riding, thats the best comment ive seen in a long time, with truely fair constructive comments :) i salute you sir :)
in this video i was attempting balance point wheelies, a lot different then popping the clutch on the highway - and it is a lot safer to crash learning at 2-5 mph then 40+ mph
ur gunna hurt yourself wen ur on ur nees like that either u start falling and roll the throttle or if ucome down hard u will fall off or ull get ur bike to tip over
its actually not bad for a beginner, but the worst thing he did was take his foot off the rear brake, NEVER take your foot off the rear brake, even if you panic, the rear brake is your best friend in this situation it can save you and your bike. but its not bad. now you just gotta find your balance point and you'll be doing wheelies all day long
you know the reason you crashed was because you didn't have your leg on the rear brake (if you rush for your goal you will soon fall if you be patient you will get what you guessed)
Nah... his dad would probably say something different... like "if you don't sell your bike, I reject you as a son"! or something along those lines....
dude there was a hand brake on there thats why he had his feet up you can see whenever he is coming up he hits the hand brake and the bike stops going back
I almost felt the same way! Tryn to listen to my more exsperienced friends tellin me to slip the clutch ! Easier said than done ! Well i found a wheelie for noobs video on here ! And dude was like just open the throttle up to like 11rpm n first gear and the bike comes up without any effort !! It worked. Than after getting comfortable with the almost weightless feeling and stomach dropping acceleration.Slippin the clutch just made the bike come up higher quicker ! Now just got to pracdtice
thats pretty god damn good for beginner shit. i been doin wheelies for over a year and a half now and still havent gotten the balls to do slow wheelies in a lot yet. respect like crazy
yea I retract my question I hear him revving then popping the clutch,, dude that just doesnt look safe Watch "Learning slow wheelies" thats how I'm gonna start !!!! I could just see dude launching that thing across the parking lot like he almost did in the end. Might wana cover up them arms too..peace n good luck
he was clutchin right..? cause it seemed awkward and wrong -- granted I know nothin! it just sounded to high revved for what he was practicing right ??
Give it some more throttle when you get your front tire up...if u get scared thats why u got your right foot down...rear brake it and the front will go down...but really power whellie that shit like a man, get both feet on the pegs son.
A power wheelie is like "rolling" into a wheelie, you rip your throttle open, your bike will speed up quickly and if your bike is powerful (anything generally over 500cc) you will start to lift into a wheelie.
A clutch wheelie is where you "pop" the clutch giving the bike a rapid increase of power which pulls the front up hella quick. (done it once accidently and scared the shit out of myself)

hey if you need parts for your bike go to e-bay. they are cheap and might be stolen. but your are a stunter right. support your local stunter foundation. fuck you learn how to ride man.
Actually, using the clutch is the preferred method. I'm not a stunter, but from what I gather it's common practice, and what they usually suggest people learn by doing.
It offers more control and a slower rise in the front tire. "bouncing" is kind of erratic in a way and much more violent to me of a rise.
well first of all everyone always says to start off with power wheelies its not bouncing u get the rpms to about 6 and let go of throttle and put back on throttle and the front comes up very slow. with the clutch its more aggressive its not preferred to use the clutch its just with the clutch the front always will come up and with the power wheelie it dosent always work sometimes.
With stock gearing on a 600 you generally have to "blip" the throttle to about 30%, decrease to 0%, then full throttle to get it up, why I used the term "bouncing" as you described.
Clutching wheelies gives you more control and IMO is safer. I've yet to hear an actual stunter curse clutching, or in that case, not use it or suggest others not to either.
Not bad bro keep it up and you'll get it. Smart starting out at slow speeds your going it about it the right way. I figured it out along time ago the wrong way. Clutching it up in 2nd and riding em at the balance point. Did that for ever really well then was ready to start shifting made a shift to 3rd and rode it a ways and did a tank slapper after I came down. Good luck and keep it up bro! Keep it slow ;)
