Was he thinking that fake frogs jumped out or that real frogs did? If fake frogs, he's brain damaged - if real frogs he's a sadist that kills animals to make a point.

Either way - he loses. And the footage of the frogs moving and his *shock* at the result say which.

Right after this segment he had the guest on his show, I forgot who, verify that the frog was fake. In all honestly the water probably wasn't even boiling anyway. Did it make his analogy less effective? Yeah I guess, but he didn't care. He just wanted to add humor. I laughed the first time I saw it so mission accomplished.

I was in movie recording and editing for 1 and a half years so I know shots like this one, if you notice the stages floor is BLUE not brown, and if you notice there are other people moving around, you can see their shadows, the next day on his show he talked about this and even showed the video of them recording that shot, I woundl't expect you to actually watch the show, just find something to use aganst him and go crazy with it.

I get the metaphor perfectly well. The humor of the clip is that it turns out that the metaphor is not actually literally true. Ever watch Mythbusters? It turns out this is often the case.

He threw the frog in water to illustrate graphically his metaphor. . . . and the frog failed to jump out - that's the hilarity.

I don't think you've grasped my point. Video editing aside as its irrelevant there are 2 possibilities:

1.) The frog is real

2.) The frog is fake.

If it's the first: the frog is real - then it means Beck threw a living frog into a pot of boiling water and left it there to die.

If it's the second: the frog is fake - then it means Beck was very dumb. After all he said "I swear I thought they jump out!" Only a moron would expect a fake frog to react to hot water and move of its own volition.

The other point I made is that I doubt Beck is that stupid; so his saying that tends to make the first case more likely.
