I have a question about the chrono- do you or anyone on this comment board know if it is accurate with paintballs (.68 caliber)?

Does the bb go threw the chrono or does the chrono have a black plate which stops the bb? and does a paintball chrono work with airsoft.

Depends where you are. At Michigan events, they are separated into groups that have engagement limits. If you have xxx FPS you have to be XX Feet away in order to fire your weapon 10 FPS over a certain limit would either put you into a different Engagement Limit group or, yes, make you unable to play.

Question. Can any one tell me how one would modify the UTG L96 Sniper rifle in case I ever try to enter into an airsoft event? Right now it is in stock form and I think it shoots about 450-500 fps. If an event required say a maximum of 350 fps, how would I decrease my guns power?

a sniper is worthless at 350 fps,(you will be outgunned by everyone) but you would need a laylax m100 spring for vsr-10 or APS2 or type 96, they all work for snipers.

Define type 96, please. My sniper rifle is a UTG L96 sniper rifle. Are you saying I would just have to change the spring, or that the one I have is fine?

Type 96 = maruzen type 96 (L96) The UTG uses the same parts. You just have to change the spring to m100 or sp100. The obvious problem is you are gonna get owned by everyone who has an AEG, as the L96 was designed with 450+ fps in mind, it's performance really dies at 350 fps. If you are playing CQB (that's what 350 limits are generally for) then you shouldn't have a sniper in the first place.

yea but at 330 fps u can use a Tk twist barrel and achieve the range of a sniper

swap out the spring to a m110 or something lower Id either run your gun at 450+ with a Promethius tight bore or at 330 fps with a TK twist barrel its designed to give incredible acuracy for Severely restricted energy. 330 fps is max for the TK Tb to work it uses a rifling that creates a Cyclone of air that cusions the bb on all sides resulting in a decrease in the number of possible angles it can come out of your gun.

Sorry, typo there... I meant it does work each and every time on the mp5 but it didn't on the BAR10.

I tried shielding it from the light and it sort of helped but it doesn't record the FPS each and every time. It's like 1 out of 8 to 10 times.

I guess I'll try with a new fresh pack of batteries and in daylight today to try and figure it out.

daylight or no daylight its not gonna matter because its electronic, not solar powered. well anyway good luck man!

I'm not saying it's solar powered but I did read that light sources affect the sensor.

So it's possible that at night its a bit more sensitive to light (like lamps, bulbs, etc) than it is during the day.

Well if it didn't work on the mp5 I would think it's that but it isn't.

I think it's the light, I just got it and only tried at night. Guess I'll wait till tomorrow morning and try it during daylight.

Hey nice review. I just got one of these (non rechargeable ver) from AirsoftGI and it's exactly the same (black ver) just without the usb port and indicator.

What I'm trying to figure out is what the MAX FPS reading is cause it'll register my 400fps mp5 but when it comes to my BAR10 upgraded spring rifle it will not register at all... it'll just stay at the previous reading (from my mp5).

I did manage to get two readings out of like 30 shots and it said 507FPS but no more.

the shots have to be taken 1 second after and no more than that otherwise it will read the same reading.

Of course they have them man! Watch the last part of my vid! This happens every time I go airsofting, when people dont know how much theirs gun is shooting at, specially jgs and echo ones, they shoot too hot for most fields. Unless you dont go to fields, I would understand.
