The train had to slow down because south of the station there is a S-Curve section of track that the train has to go through. That's why the train slowed down.
the acela is fun to ride on but if you ever get a chance to go to france, ride the TGV from Paris to Geneva. Amazing route. train reaches 300kph (186mph)
I love it too when Amtrak toots their horns, only sometimes in my videos the camera jerks because of the element of surprise the engineers give me when they toot them. Most are really friendly to railfans.
I'm going to say NJCL, they are allowed though to enter Penn...
Anyhow, they are supposed to honk, when passing a train. Speaking of which, one time, I was railfanning Princeton Junction, and an NJT train was stopped picking up passengers, and an Amtrak AEM-7 blew by and tooted his horn as much and loud as he could as he passed the NJT train, it was really annoying.
Did the acela have to slow down for the station?

Why so slow?

NORAC rules require a train passing a stopped train to sound the horn.

i think an acela passing by at full speed is louder than the horn of an amtrak

2002 has a K3LA?
buggiecar 4 years ago
It's probably a K5LA because the rest of the Amtrak fleet has them.

It is a Hybrid K5LA and he didn't blow it all the way so it sounded like a K3L

There is actually a high and low setting on the horn. This is a low bast.

That is a northbound push/pull consist, likely originating from trenton.
