The new 5.0 is quick at best, high twelves aren't exactly setting the world on fire! My g8 gxp does that and its ok for stock. Don't get your panties in a bunch over it!
@ksr5610 i believe it's the ls1.. only 60% sure though..he could've bought an lt1 383 since it's iron block compared to the ls1s aluminum block.. since it's turbo and sounds like it has good power he may have went to the stronger and more reliable iron block. Hard to say without the owner saying exactly what.
@amyntage yea thats what i was thinking but could quite put my finger on it, deffently if i was building a ls series and go out of my way to find an iron block just for the fact that iron doesnt heat up as quick as aluminum leading to less expansion so iron is more durable and more trust worthy imo but both have their pros and cons id get aluminum simpliy for the fact that its sooo much lighter which is better for strip racing
@ksr5610 There is only like a 80lbs difference in the weight between the iron and aluminum blocks. You will do just fine with aluminum block. There are plenty of 1000 hp ls1 blocks out there. Iron is more dense, and will resist vibrations and warping more than aluminum will. But 99% of us will never make that much HP to have to worry about it. Definatly a LT1/LT4 motor.
Gosh that thing is sick. And I know having dual tips wouldve been more for show, but I love how those look with them. Id have run the wastegate tip out on the other side but thats just me. Sweet ride man.

I like those new 5.0 motors, I read they actually spray motor oil at the pistons from underneath to keep the temp on the crowns under control! Genius!
That Trans Am is fucking tight. I want to hopefully soon, buy one with a 383 or atleast a 350. I have a 1995 Firebird but it has the 3.4L. It's a nice car but I want a Trans Am or a Formula. Enough about me though, badass trans am man
A stroker motor just means it has more stroke then stock.
I know my 383 small block has a 3.75in stroke and stock is 3.48in, stock bore is 4in, mine is 4.040 [a little more then 383.]
A traditional 383 stroker was a 350 block with a 400 crank and a .030 overbore, so a 3.75 stroke and 4.030 bore is the traditional 383 small block.
No reason you cant stoke and turbo a car, only negative to stroking is your pistons have to move faster so things wear quicker, especially if you rev high.

That is odd the car has the 98 and later tail end and lights but has the first version of the car the 93-97 front end and hood. You remember the early camaros and firebirds or z28s and T/A's 93-97 you sat in them and there was no hood to be seen just two giant windshield wipers. The problem was fixed on both cars in the 98 redesign of them but this car already has the redesigned 98 tail end I wonder what year that car was? Also the engine looks like it started out life as an LT-4 not LT-1.
I have a 96 and I see my hood perfectly fine, and the only thing on the rear that is different from 93-97 are the taillights and it is a simple process to take 98+ tails and put them in. As for the starting life out as an lt4? how is that possible to tell? usually the only give away is the intake
there are more than one way to tell an lt4 from an lt1,with powder coated red intake being the biggest clue lt4's dont have an egr system,lt4s also have 1.6 roller rockers,and there are a couple other ways of knowing I just can think of any more right now but damn that car in the vid sounds sinister

Go to sts turbos website, they have pictures of how its installed. Basically the left exhaust pipe is where the turbo's air filter is.

its a rear mount turbo, it mounts with the mufler and such, and there is only one outlet, so yes it IS single exhaust.
