not much heavier, both 3.5L engines but 04 had a bit more hp and torque.

Gear rations were probably reworked too to make it more efficient and faster than the 02 gen.

04-06 are the best last maxima's, they are very fast and durable..

The only reason that the 09 and 5.5 gen are faster is because they are a full size smaller than the full size 6th gen maxima.

The 5.5 was also the last Japanese Maxima.

4th gen (95-99) maximas to me are the best, and most reliable.5.5 gen (02-03) were the fastest from the factory until the 09 maxima came out
