People reckon it makes the game harder but i found it to get MUCH easier, it probably depends on how you set unions up and if you switch to different characters alot to affect stat growth.
@Devslash It's been two years, but I might as wel still respond.
Leveling up BR like crazy let say to BR 90 right at the beginning of the game is wrong, since you do not have all your Unions yet so if you level up right away then your new unions and soldier that will join you later in the game will have crappy stats at BR 125 since they only got like 35 BR to up they stats, but if you was BR 30 when you got all your max unions and Soldier then all your unions will have great stats.
@Devslash Also, if you are very low BR and you fight VERY strong enemy like these blue dude in these lost Ruin (Don't remember the name) Then you will gain CRAZY stats up every battle.
My Rush ended up so damn powerfull that I was able to solo the final boss fight with only him alone with no other unions or soldier.
what is the easiest method to NOT rise your BR..because im kinda stuck in the first cd because my BR is way too high..i never watched these before so i didn't know its not wise to link as many as you can..what is the best choice for the first weapon and how long i should keep it
By doing forced fights only (It's possible to avoid all random battles) but if you need to grind then fight enemies with high HP 1 at a time to get the most out of stat/art skill ups, bandits are a good enemy for this but they take quite a while to spawn, look on gamefaqs[.]com for a detailed guide on it.
I think dual wield Dragonfly katana are the best you can get on disc 1 and they can also last until towards the end of disc 2, last remnant wikipedia should have info on how to obtain it.
the best way i know off is in a dig point at the end of the 1st area of the aquaducts in the water by the steps, save the game then keep reloading until you get high chains full of i think it's mermaid stones which sell for quite a bit, it's still pretty slow and tedious so i wouldn't recommend it
Apparently bandits are good money but i've never tried them so don't know anything about them, another way which slowly increases BR is to fight glagonos at the entrance to darken forest, they drop multiple earrings that sell 1750 each (you can get like 10-15 from 1 fight with 2 links)
at the start of disc 2 you can go to the ancient ruins 2nd floor for a malystrix (2 handed spear with 110 ATK and some add effect) as long as you can beat ymir, it's possible to beat him at BR9 and i have a video on that if anyone needs to know how
i have only just started playing this game and its awesome lol but why do people not want to get there BR up i dont understand

Well i'm on an 86 chain so there's quite a few enemies to deal with but they stop eventually.

Then it killed me lmao
If i knew that they stopped .. i woulda carried on and just killed the rest of them.
