In 1995 I dreampt this, seriously. I woke up out of a dream and said to everyone I just dreampt of liquid crystal newspapers. In my dream I woke up to get my coffee and pulled up to the table a flexible, almost 'newspaper-like' plastic material, shaped like a newspaper but it was a computer of some sort, maleable and the news appeared on the front page. When you touched it, like a touch pad of an apple today, with a swipe it turned the page. i was like, wow this is so cool. Then i woke up.
This isn't worth the time....for the simple reason that 1. we have phones laptops tv's etc to tell us the news...newspapers are becoming out-dated because of technology and 2. the price of this would be high, no doubt...a newspaper is cheaper...a phone will not only tell you the news but connect you to your friends...when all this simply does is tell you the news... which is 1 thing. also money and production wasted on motors that replicate printing, :( good idea though :) well done.
@nksharpshooter funny you say that about newspapers being outdated, that's what they're trying to do with one of these, they're getting people to increase their reading, this will be the perfect way, keeping things normal how they used to be but also moving forward with technology, not using soo much paper as their trying to cut down now, i certainly would purchase this, this is a genius invention, yeah people have a phone but a lot of people stick to old phones, this would be perfect for them.
Do you hear that blood-curdling primal scream? It's coming from the sales and circulation departments of every newspaper in the world—well, at least those that haven't already folded (pun fully intended.)
i appreciate the nice idea behind this concept! imagine how the upcoming apple tablet will blow your mind with its revolutionary e-newspaper thing! ;)
