Bedankt!
Please read my website on motion platform and choose the intertfacing page. That explains how to get signals out of FS. instead of 3 actuators you can combine them also for 1 actuator
Unbelievable dude... just unbelievable. +100 respect. What happens if you crash btw? Reckon the motors would fling you off a bit? Or at least cause some damage to the equipment
With realistic setting, FS9 will stop the simulator when crash is detected. More severe is hard turbulence, or when you land on dirt runways: roll and heave will be severe, I come loose from my chair, and at some point I have to switch-off the motor drive. The motor drive itself is very robust, due to V-belt system. The cockpit is more fragile, and the scenery display LCD's already show some wear: loose contacts etc. Normally I select my flights for moderate turbulence, and hard runways.
Using second hand stuff, the platform is about 500 euro's. The rest is just some old LCD's, lots of stuff from second hand places. So total cost less than 1000 euro's. PPL lincence is way more expensive, and renting a small GA plane in Holland is about 200 euro's for one hour flight. So using a nice simulator setup is definitely cheaper than real flying.
Most stuff is 2nd hand, or from junkyards. I also got some items made in Taiwan. Total cost of platform system around 500 euro's I guess. My simprojects website gives most technical details.
Bedankt!
Now totally close it up and you will have more of a feeling of being inside.

I think I will be building one of these, this would be amazing. Just the platform, then I would modify it to my specific desires.

Hello! Tell me please, how can I get only touchdown, turbulence and ground shake signals to single actuator without tilts?

Any plans now? Have you got any offers to use/implement your plan or to come work for anyone?
darkwizzard 2 years ago
New plans: Check out my new video "3DoF motion platform prototype"
There are a couple of folks building similar rigs according my plans, but nothing commercial: this is hobby, I'd like to keep it that way.

I have a question: how much did it cost you all to build this and how much would a pilot's license cost you?

Very good! You have a lot of talent

Actually my actuators behave exactly like linear actuators. I just choose a different way (V-belt) to make the same movement.
And yes, I'm an electronic engineer.

Hallo Roland,
Leuk resultaat: gefeliciteerd!
