@alamahao Niklas Sundin did the cover and the rest of the layout. The basis is a photo of the bass player Kimmy, supplied from the band. It was taken during the same photo session as the rest of the shots in the booklet.
Hey - anyone who likes this band should check out the album 'Doomsdaylight' by the band Rutthna; it is a Thyrfing 'side project'...very different from this, but quite good \,,/
And what have lyrics to music? For me, viking metal is that kind of metal that played Bathory on albums Hammerheart, Blood on Ice etc.
And Thyrfing has nothing simialr to these albums. I don't care about lyrics. I care how does it sounds like. Amon Amarth has lyrics about vikings and its not viking metal.
I see your point. But then again, it isn't so strange why they don't sound the same. Bathory had a huge background in black metal while these two bands...well, death metal quite obviously.
Bathory is "more" viking metal than Thyrfing, I'll give you that. But to say Thyrfing doesn't have anything to do with the genre - nah, that's wrong.
Yea, You're right. Im just sad that so few bands play "old wave of viking metal". Thyrfing and many other great bands create "new wave of viking metal". Thanks for giving me a new look at viking metal music.
It's very hard for viking metal to have some melody to it, while being brutal but not to the point where it's pure noise. Some come close, but Thyrfing imo, stand alone as the the masters of that art.
THE greatest. I personally think they are better than all the other Viking bands, although all the others are great. Thyrfing just has a totally different feel to them. It's awe inspiring.
Now usually I favour harsh vocals in metal, but in Thyrfing's case I find that some absolutely godlike songs are marred by the harsh vocals, and not enough emphasis s placed on the kickass melodc bits. This is apparent in this and also in songs like Angestens Hogborg.

Bathory - Blood on Ice is the best. Thyrfing isn't viking metal band at all. Where are things typical to viking metal in this song?
