  • the youtube bandwagon is the best bandwagon!

ive applied to aberdeen :) x

  • I am coming for your wages when you get out of university. You better be ready for Satan always claims his prize!

  • Im sorry - I respect your opinion. But I cant see what action you are proposing from this question. Is this a cry for iether a new politician, or a new political system done by computers?

What do you propose he does on youtube? Ask for opinions on each proposal parlament has? Instead of a general "i dont want war. I want money. Tax's are to high"

  • you rock

  • LOL pwnt!

  • I think it's a perfect idea for the PM to launch this services as It will allow ordinary people to have their views heard especially young people who are stuck and don't vote and make an influence because they don't know what is going on with the government.

Why not do it if it is available now and not before!

Hardcore economy that he run for 10 years under Tony Blair but unfortunately he is unlucky because of Northern rock and Global melt down in which he doesn't have control..

  • you are an absolute legend

  • lol i like eggs

  • Good question, nice chin :D

  • Re: Does the PM want to connect with younger voters or widen his demographic of voters?

Minimum age to ask a question is 13, by the time the next election arrives, the current 13 yr olds will still be ineligible to vote. You should be grateful he's even giving you the time of day. If I was his advisor I would ask him not to waste his time on people who use youtube especially if the questions submitted to the PM thus far are anything to go by (apart from 2-3 questions, the rest are terrible).

  • very astute, well done.

  • Brilliant question, I hope he answers it !

    x

  • lol he wont answer that just like he wont answer my question on the london bombings.

  • Bloody BRILLIANT question!

    have subbed

    ;)

  • I think that with YouTube being a new platform for communication and expression of opinion, the government have no choice but to embrace it and attempt to use it to their advantage.

I do however appreciate the unique opportunity that this presents and think that it is a rather brave move.

    peace.

  • This IS a shameless attempt by Gordon Brown.

However, let's see what he has to say for himself.

  • Hopefully this question will get answered.

It seems that out of all the question this one is quite popular with YouTubers!

  • Nice question Kevin! :)

Are you going to post more videos?

  • Good question.

  • Aren't you jumping on the Youtube bandwagon?, and you don't even have.. the most important job in the nation.

I'm an analog man .. whats wrong with that? I'm very proud. If Cameron really said that .. dear god.

  • The only opportunistic behaviour on my part was using this "initiative" to ask the Prime Minister a question. I have nothing to gain from this "initiative", which is in contrast to the honourable gentleman in question.

Mr Brown has to be seen to be electable, is this a last ditch attempt to appear so? Does the Prime Minister really want to connect with younger voters or is he shamelessly just trying to widen his demographic of voters simply to get his party re-elected?

  • Oh that wont happen lol

  • The Videos we upload, including our Question to Gordon Brown don't get a fraction of the views yours has reached in so little time.

Please view our question and please see the video description.

  • how is he an analogue politician where have you got this conclusion from??

  • I was quoting David Cameron, perhaps you should ask him. However, I feel that general public perception is that he's stuck in the past. This YouTube "initiative" reinforces that Gordon Brown feels something needs to be done to shake of this perception of him. This must be true; otherwise he would not be trying so hard to "crack" YouTube.

  • This is such a fantastic question, because although he said that he wanted people's opinions, it is interesting that he chose to do it over the internet- where so much hate can come in!

Fantastic question.. Hope to see more from you!

  • hiya

  • Oh come on, the internet is open to everyone, David Cameron does not have exclusivity to Youtube or this channel, David Cameron was not the first politican to broadcast from the internet. Every political party has some representation on Youtube already, even the BNP and Respect Left List. This is no different to the Question Time. The questions on QT are selected questions raised by the general public, it is the same. the only difference is that those asking the questions are not in a TV studio.

  • The question only sounds good to apolitical people like most of those on youtube, but its very challenging.

Any politican could answer it. Gordon will answer it something along the lines of an excellent opportunity to interact directly with the electorate and reach a wider audience which will be beneficial to the running of democracy in this country. Gives people a chance to get involved etc etc. Then mention London Mayor election which used Q&A interaction on youtube.

    Easy, Next Question

  • Ok that's fair enough, but I would like to see Mr Brown respond to the allegations that he is just carrying out this YouTube "initiative" because he feels he needs to keep up with other politicians such as David "WebCameron" Cameron with regards to technology. To engage directly with the electorate surely it would be better if the Prime Minister held a "David Dimbleby style Question Time" TV show once a month instead of the gimmicky idea of doing it through YouTube?

  • Why did this video post receive so much press coverage? its a question typical of the BBC's 'Question Time.' Do you have contacts in media or were the other questions so bland? 1800 for 48hrs is good by Utube standards.

Its probably not Gordon's idea, only last week one of his ministers suggested he do a TV show similar to Alan Sugar's Apprentice to lift his popularity. I doubt Gordon has used Youtube in his life. If The Queen, BBC, ITN are on youtube, its logical the PM follow should suit.

  • why have only 1500 people watched this vid when it's all over the "media"? note to Ann Treneman: you have to add all the vids of GB picking his nose to be fair: way more than 250,000

  • This is pretty clever, I hope that this one over others is answered.

    Very nicely done.

  • kev why arent you studying politics haha

congrats on being in the times though!

  • question was fair enough, the prime minister is just a cunt, and your fucking fit

  • very good

  • Congrats with being on More4 news tonight - family recorded it, so ill be putting it up soon..when i get back from university... dam exams :( u got them too at the moment yeah?

  • He'll probably claim to find out what the public care about in regards to politics. But it is just a publicity stunt to shake off negative comments as you've said.

Doubt he will answer this one.

  • At least he's trying, and I haven't heard of another politician actually use a youtube account to connect to the public. Though thousands of people use Youtube, it's pretty new for a politician to use, even if it probably won't change anything.

  • Yeah you're right, he IS trying. I'm just interested to know why Gordon Brown feels it so essential to do so. Is he competing with David Cameron's initiatives such as WebCameron? Does Mr Brown risk looking out of touch if he does not take steps to use technology such as YouTube? I'm interested to know what everyone else thinks.

  • Oh my God. Is there really something called WebCameron? That's pain-making. Although quite clever, in a really lame way.

Good question, anyway, and you have a nice voice.

  • Haha interesting question dude =] look foward to seeing a response...let's hope!

  • I applaude you thefunnymoney.

  • ha ha

  • i really hope that the PM responds to this video, as i believe that it's a dam good question. He'll have time to think about his answer though, I'd love to see him answer this in person...

    ...quickfire style lol
