'i don't wanna play host, play host to ???, i've got to set my mind free'. i know where the samples from i just can't rap my ears round that one word.
@MrImpulseX Oldskool rave did make a come back. There was a second coming back in 2003/2004 - 2008 where the scene was really great. Sadly the big names choose not to push it but their own sounds and therefore it just stayed underground. Its still going now but not as strong as is was, plus all release's of it are mp3 and not vinyl like it was a few years back
I was born a few years too late (1981) and on the wrong continent (N. America) to be a part of the Golden Age which was mid-late '80s to the early '90s, but out of all the Electronic Music I've heard over the last 20 years, tunes like this are the absolute best.
I'd give anything to have been in the UK in the early years, but those of you who were have my absolute respect. It was YOU who made the early Rave Scene what it was - the most exciting musical revolution in centuries. *\o/*
@robophreeq hi mate, yeah i was 18 when this came out and went to all the raves like helter skelter, labrinth, world dance etc, cool to know people on the other side of the world know about it,better late than never, like i say it was our own underground thing and never thought anyone outside the uk would know it then or 18 years later, nuff respect
Been a long time since I've seen this video but was a great laugh travelling up and down the country making it. Not gonna say which one I am but will say thanks to matt, dave, trev, brad and mark for making it all possible. can't have it like we use to but still makes me smile thinking back.
@reachmart respect to you mate. bet you didn't think at the time that you were part of a revolution that would die out like it did. I was born about 2 decades too late and wish i'd been part of it all. The clubs these days are full of wannabe gangsters and the music just isn't on a par with this. Too many people on different wavelengths. It doesn't make it much of a party.
@reachmart if its true... i envy you :> you were in your late teens and I was in my early teens :> just few years after berlin wall fell down :) greetings from Poland (never worked in UK though sorry If you had opportunity to meet some nasty poles) ;)
i can't stop playing this really miss 1992 oh well at least i was there and its really funny when i read whats under the old tunes how much it ment to us what an era
this tune just makes you smile and to think its 17 years old timeless everybody in that video is or nearly 40 years old inclueding me where did the time go good memories cheers
the vocal is from tony terrys forget the girl i dont want to play host, play host to her ghost, i got to set my mind free and you might find a copy at music and record exchange notting hill london
Finally found out what the vocal says and where it comes from. The vocal comes from Tony Terrys forget the girl and it says 'i dont wanna play host, play host to her ghost, i got to set my mind free'. For years that has done my fucking head in and now i got the original acapela to play with :-)
Brilliant video, i only wish i'd heard this in the clubs i went to at the time. I only discovered this and a lot of other tunes through Freeze fm. Upside is another cracking tune.
It's freaking awesome guys, like Beethoven in the classic,Sy-kick in the techno everybody whatever they do they have to pass from them first and create ideas after
absolute timeless classic tune...!!!!!!! yeah.... friday night party zones were brilliant on MTV in the early 90's... the music on MTV now is poor compared to back then
@englandsbest316uk me 2..watched it almost every friday night or recorded it....then watched it the days after..briljant show...later on i went to great houseparties!!!
Thanks for re-upping this vid. Damn MTV probably requesting removing the previous one. They could concern on showing some quality music today like they used to instead of taking our memories.
I'll take hold are the words. What a tune. Happy days and good times. Thanks to the uploader. One of my favourite tunes of all time.

@djhalfords Too much about image now, no substance. Agree with englandsbest about Partyzone, that was complete class. Would be banned these days.

@Mannin89B63 there is no accapella. If you listen the lyrical samples are mashed together albeit seamlessly.
unless you just want "hip hop n doobedy ba ba"
