it doesn't leave permanant numbness, if its on the top of the hand like it seems, my friend had a cyst on the same exact spot.. she had surgery, and it didn't go numb permanantly at all.. hers did grow back though.. but thats probably because the doctors purposely didn't remove the core.
ive whacked mine on my left upper hand ,just below the wrist joint bout 100 times, from a book to a rolling pin n its still there, tried pressing it,didn work, but i aint eva gonna have surgery cos it can still come back n the scar is not pleasent from wahat i can gather
just pop them you pussys. Ive had them about 3 times, they come and go, but i found the best way is to pop them, ive had one on each wrist and the first time i popped on was when my friend went to punch me, missed and hit my fucking wrist right where it was and it never came back , # 2 was at martial arts and got hit with a weapon right on the ganglion, also has not come back.. but i have what seems to be a crater in my wrist from where it used to be LOL
It is not a great idea to pop them just go to your doctor and have them aspirate it and give you an injection of cortosteriod. Have had mine for a few years and the doctor that told me to hit it with a book I looked them in the face and said .." And should we grab the leeches for the boil on your stupid ass too?" Since ganglions are believed to be caused due to joint fluid leakages from TRAUMA to the joint how frickin bright is it to HIT the joint with a flipping book?
You need an encyclopedia for that shit, or the Bible XD That book is WAY too thin!

I tried draining mine with a needle.. Didn't work though.
If you get surgery on it, I guess it leaves permanent numbness.
