  • Bon ça !! Ma chanson préféré des J5 !

  • good job

  • This is GREAT!

  • I love the way you play and I love this song. I'm new to the bass guitar and is there a way you can show how you did this song

  • Excellent bassman! Love the J-5! even if Im Irish!!

  • I like your clean sound, good timing.

  • This sounds just like Jamerson!

  • Carol Kaye is also trying to take credit for playing on "I Was Made To Love Her." That song exemplifies Jamerson's style. Ron Brown also played on most of the J-5 material up until the Get It Together album, when William Salter took over most of the bass chores for the J-5. Contrary to what folks believe, Jermaine did NOT play on any of their studio recordings. It's a damn shame, because I have a few rare J-5 live recordings and Jermaine is absolutely KILLIN it on the bass.

  • Can we PLEASE put Carol Kaye where she belongs? She did not play on ANY J-5 songs."I Want You Back" was played by Wilton Felder, as was most of their early hits. Jamerson played on "Darling Dear", "Who's Lovin You" and I believe "Never Had A Dream Come True" on the ABC album. Taking nothing away from Carol Kaye, but there are SWORN affidavits from the producers of those tracks stating that she didn't play on the master recordings.

  • VERY GOOD !!!

  • all i know is according to Standing in the Shadows of Motown, Jamerson did go to LA... albeit temporarily.

  • hey man this was wicked .. keep it up

  • Sounds great, nearly has the Jamerson sound down.

Try with the one finger like the 'hook' as davey256 said :)

    Nice upload.

  • A lot of recordings made on the West Coast were sent back to James Jamerson in Detroit for overdubbing. Ofcourse, I can't say for sure whether this was one of those... Even if it wasn't James, it was written in his "style".

  • nicely done...now try it with 1 finger like jamerson lol

  • I think "Nobody" was produced by the Corporation therefore it was probably recorded in LA. The bassist was most likely either Wilton Felder or Ron Brown.

  • Very good.

Are you sure it was Jamerson? I don't want to start the old thing again, but Carol Kaye played on most Jackson 5 recordings.

    Regards, A

  • Really? Surely Jamerson played on I Want You Back?

  • no wilton felder on i want you back.

  • That's an awesome bassline

  • Where can one find the sheet music to this and more motown music? I already have the book Standing in the Shadows of Motown.

  • Spot on

  • It's got groove all right. Post some more! And could you show us more of your right hand?

  • you've really got a groove mhbass

  • Nicely Played, Ive always been partial to that bass line. Its a Classic

  • well done. it's good to know that there are still competent, groovy bassists that pay homage to the great Jamerson

  • in the pocket, nice!

  • Great Playing!

  • Groovy!
