  • this truck is built in texas by americans...i love america...

  • @wave122101 no it is assembled in america. the engine, transmission etc. are made in japan.

  • @thenixter101 Transmission yes, but not the engine. USA laws requires the manufactures produce 50 + % ( if u know what I mean) in the USA. All the electronic staff is made in Japan. The frame, body, suspension, interior, engine are made in the USA, otherwise the have to pay 100% TAX to sell the motor.

  • @voitcs Thanks for the info. :)

  • I love a tacoma better than a tundra. But it's a Toyota so it will be a good truck that will run smooth on the roads and reliable. It's also compatible as well. So why hate them?.. i don't know why. As long as you take care of it, it will go for a while without having to deal with the frame rust and the headache, the rust from chipped paint, or whatever damages you think on a toyota. Come on people...

  • oh my a sliding rear window....my dads truck from the 80's has that.... impressive

  • Ok, so here's what I would say.... ALL trucks, doesn't matter if it's a Ford, Nissan, Dodge, Toyota, Chevy, Silverado, and Honda trucks are going to SUCK in SOME way... enough said. No reason to fight over which truck is better.

  • better than a ridgeline!

  • why are people so threatened by the tundra?

  • If I'm buying a pick-up truck, you can bet your ass it's gonna be American

  • @mashy816 The Tundra is American, lol.

  • @daveed793 Keep the truck, get a new engine.

  • I'm sorry, but this review sounds geared towards women thinking about buying a truck.

  • Toyota is good at making cars, their trucks are built like cars and cant take the assbeating that a normal American truck can take. In 10 years the Tundra will be all dented and falling apart with a warped frame and on its third transmission while the Ford f-150 is still running at prime performance, with more miles on it than the Tundra, and in pristine condition

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 My brother used to manage a transmission shop. He said if it weren't for the Ford motor company they would have gone out of business! Keep dreaming buddy!

  • @Fx4Ranger2002 dude i still got a 95 tacoma, only damages i see are a lil bit of rust from chipped paint, and faded paint on top of the the truck and on the hood. first generation and still runs like a charm after 17 yrs! so the only reason it would be dented is cuz u dnt take care of it..

  • @toyota4life94 i see

  • Why the fuck have I not herd about a Ram in this?!?! WTF is up with this shit!

  • @CrashJSTest Ford is behind the pack with the C channel. Flex puts so much pressure on key parts such as U joints, Break lines and Electrics.

  • i own a trd rockwarrior and it outperforms all of my friends fords, chevys, and dodges.

  • @CrashJSTest Ford dose have fully boxed frame in all there trucks.

  • Some ppl say that one brand is better than another ( for example ) when ppl compare ford to chevy they are wrong if they say one is better than the other bcuz ford trucks are better than chevy trucks but chevy cars are better than ford ones, so when people say that one brand is better than the other it's actually the type of car they hav to compare not just the brand

  • it dosnt have a fully boxed frame...

  • this shitty ass truck has the worst frame of all other trucks

  • no brand can beat toyota

  • @syedz1000

bitch wats so special about a shitty toyota and its for poor pussys like you

  • @Mudman1282 its all special my dear its hard like dimond its rock how rough u use it it will never let u down its a king of road u bloody americans

  • @syedz1000

bitch this truck is a fucking joke so shut ur pussy ass up bitch, the frame rusts so fucking fast and it aint a real truck, it doesnt even have a fucking diesel engine that is great for hauling and i let ya pussy ass know that is truck is for poor white bitches like you so get lost u white dick sucking queer

  • @Mudman1282 u mother fucker wat about i have enough mony to buy ur whole ford compny with ur mother and sis too u bloddy shit fuckkinn ass whole dont abuse if ur a humn

  • @Mudman1282 hahahahaha y u r soo angry i think ur bitch mom tell u that i fuck her wet pussy ritenow thts y ur so blush hahaha love u sweet heart now sht the fuck offfffffffffffffffffff

  • Well, we all know that quality is a joke.

  • tundra suck titan is better

  • tundra sucks

  • They should do a review on the tundras little bro, the Tacoma :)

  • yea this is make in America right? and the Dodge Ram in mexico

  • lÖl_ï_sìgñëd_úp_at_füll_tilt_põker

    _üsíñg_rëfërràl_cöde:_You600_àñd_got_a_600_Ðóllar_bøñús

  • It's ironic how the Tundra is actually more American than many of these so called "American" trucks.

  • wow japs should just stick to making overpriced vans and shitty suv instead of tryong to look good with an EPIC FAIL truck, leave it to americans to make it, they know how to :D

  • @0mgwtfbbq21 yea, buy american.... except all the money goes to mexico... you actually hurt the economy

  • Biggest peice of junk on the face of the planet, bar non.

  • if you cant climb in you buy running boards. try the ones from truck champ they are pretty good. no complaints cost me 170 dollars to the door from ebay and they are reall strong. cheaper than westin branded ones

  • my dads 87 toyot truck lasted untill this year

  • why dosnt toyota have a disel for this truck. the competition does shouldnt toyota

  • @toyota420xp hell toyotas gas truck cant meet the competition, so how do they expect their diesel to? but in all honesty their 5.7 liter was one of GM's old engines that they remodeled... so they are most likely waiting for a copy right to end then they will take another old blueprint.

  • box frame???? only the first 1/3 of it I think...

  • Is it good On gas???

  • this truck dosnt have a fully boxed frame

  • toyota: "because some vehicles have to carry the tampons"

  • @boon222222 toyota: because im to cheap to buy a real truck..

  • @hjuddm is 51,000 dollars cheap

  • I don't care for any imports, but Toyota could improve the sales of this truck. A 1/2 ton diesel could be a good seller. You can't get a diesel in the 1/2 ton domestic trucks any more. GM had one back in the 1990's, and that was the last one. Toyota has experience in making smaller diesels, so they would have an advantage in their market. Toyota's development costs would be a lot less than the domestics, so they should make the most of the opportunity.

  • these just won't stop, even when you really try

  • @saboobuu ha thats a joke, let me drive one il show you what they cant do...I guess you drive your like a car..or what they were meant for haha

  • @hjuddm i dont get it, and i know it is a joke, but the brakes problem on the cars are a BIG issue

  • Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you let your foot off the gas pedal..

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you stomp on the brakes..

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Even when you shift into neutral & pull the E-brake.

Toyota - "Moving Forward" - Until it slams into the back of a semi-truck @ 110 mph

  • @3619Country lol, ikr

  • This is a terrible review.

  • The biggest problems with Toyota trucks are the rust issue, and weak transmissions in early Tundras. A big auxiliary cooler will probably allow the transmission to last, but the rust problem is not repairable. It requires frame replacement, and costs more than the truck is worth to fix.

Toyota quality and resale have taken a major hit in the past few years. The way they have dropped makes them a liability, not an asset. They are now reasons to avoid Toyota.

  • @Zinizzle

Where the vehicle is assembled has little to do with the problems Toyota has with trucks. The transmission failures relate to poor engineering. Toyota set a high tow rating without taking into account the wind resistance of a trailer. That caused transmission failures, which Toyota was not covering under warranty. The frames rusting through is due to low parts quality and the use of substandard steel. Toyota was doing buybacks on trucks starting with models built in the 1990's.

  • @Zinizzle theres only so much that can be done with such shitty stuff to work with, so of course only what's made here will actually be considered quality

  • get a motherfucking turbodiesel in that thing

  • @NewToyotaTrucks the other shit comes with better hauling and good brakes

  • I know Toyota Trucks aren't the best but they are really nice. I know toyota wasn't building great cars for the few years or so but i know Toyota is not slowly improving than you know they will be building great cars and trucks again with great quality. I love Toyota's they are the best.

  • piece of junk buy american well built ad maybe something breaks cause its doin things toys wont ever be able to do

  • Toyota entered this size truck is at the same time as the fall of the big 3, I don't believe this is accidental. Truck sales segment of the auto industry is a big part of domestic sales number ( I think it is close to 40% and I believe the margin is also fatter then passenger cars'). Toyota have been making trucks of all sizes and diesel as well sold throughout the world. So if anyone waiting for diesel, then it is a matter of time.

  • Ford, and any GM product sucks, you can go out and buy those but youll be buying a new one or fixing it faster than you would if you bought a Tundra, Toyota is known for its reliability, longevity, and resale value. Its just as capable with those other trucks but a much better choice. Go Tundra!!!!!

  • @mogulsman but the brakes will fail ford is at the top with trucks dodge is awesome do yourself a favor and stay away from toyota any other company is ok

  • @u2u2ja1 tundra is a death trap with a motor and wheels

if you buy dodge ram at least you can haul with brakes that work

  • @Zinizzle toyota has a computer that gliches up so the brakes dont work

  • @mogulsman fords only the best selling truck for 34 years. nothing major

  • @mogulsman My dad sold his 1989 F150 to my grandpa. In the ten years my grandpa owned that truck it needed very little maintenance. During that same time, my dad went through two Toyota trucks and one Nissan truck.

  • @Chris82bc lier i went to a construction site in alberta called plc they have around 30 of these trucks and never had to replace anything you lie

  • my dad owned this, the battery died in about 6 months, piece of shit

  • the tundra is the best full size pickup on the market. thats just the way it is

  • Narrator reading the script seems illiterate with Toyotas known for quality and reliablity. If I had to choose a truck to save me through desert, jungle, rock, snow, it would be a Toyota, not a U.S. truck.

  • at 1:53 why are the reverse lights on?

  • people that say that fords or other american built trucks don't last, are wrong! neighbor has a 1995 ford f150 with everything original in it. never had the engine replaced, nor the transmission, nothing major! just basic things like the battery, brakes, ect. that truck is in the shop way less then any toyota i have ever seen! american trucks are built for work. toyota trucks are made for whimps who think they need a truck but they dont want to give up the car like drive!

  • @jkguitarfreak95 Have research American trucks and the new Tundra, or are you basing your entire argument solely on your neighbor's (admittedly problematic) Ford? The pre-2007 Tundra was designed to drive like a car. When it failed to compete against its American rivals, Toyota completely redesigned it, producing the current model. It has the same capabilities as American trucks, but has scored a perfect 10 on reliability. BTW, my dad is selling his unreliable 2001 Ram 1500 5.9 for a Tundra 5.7.

  • @marshknute that's because dodge has never been reliable, hence why they are the on the bottom of the big three

  • does she come with this truck is she do. i'll buy it!

if not then im sticking with gm

  • Why is it when US automakers get better Toyota goes to shit....hmmm...maybe because they're made in america now? but still a japanese company, so the profits go right back to Japan, but this is just ugly and bulky, retains wayyy to much sheet metal.

  • @Zinizzle no about any where from 17-27% goes back what ever is left stays here. how do you think they get paid.

  • @hank01 exactly like I said ''profits'' whichever is left after all expenses, goes back to Japan. let's say it costs them 7,000 to build a Tundra, after materials and labor and miscellaneous costs. Then they sell them for 35,000, 28,000 is going back to Japan.

  • It may be a little more expensive but you see it will go FOREVER unlike the others

  • @timbo3744

Toyota goes and goes, just won't stop. All those people screaming: STOP!!!..STOP!!!... STOP!!!...

  • Im a domestic truck fan, Im not gonna lie though the tundra is a pretty nice truck. Its good for the family, economic (compared to pickup trucks) and it will get light duty stuff done like every other pickup truck. But heavy duty work the tundra wont get it done and thats where I would rather have my Chevrolet silverado turbo diesel, cuz I just dont see a tundra pulling a 29' camper that weighs in at almost 10,900 lbs

  • The Tundra has more US part content than the "domestic trucks" and its made in Texas not Canada or Mexico. The Tundra has better engines, transmissions, brakes, front end components and safety features. Ask yourself why does the big three charge close to the same price or a truck when they use old technology and they pay to build them????

  • @1typhoonlover Your mostly right, however not all of that is true. Im a domestic truck fan and even more bias; a GM truck fan. But I do appreciate all vehicles because im not completley bias. I do agree with you for the most part but every vehicle has its advantages. The best transmission in a pickup truck is actually the Allison 6 spd transmission found in the 2006+ modles of GM Turbo Diesel trucks. the 5.7 Iforce engine is a decent engine but it really dosnt compare to most of domestic trucks.

  • this trucks a beast, everything on it is build like a ford f250

  • wow this truck is ugly lookin'

  • nice try totota but you wont be SHIT compared to a silverado or f150

  • @timbo3744

oh yeah the older ones the newer ones are known for shitty transmissions

(in the tundra at least) and all and all low quality

  • every time i've seen these trucks, they are spotless and are NEVER used for work, you buy these trucks when you wanna look cool and have alot of space. these things aren't real trucks..

  • @1uzi98suicide5 I wasnt event gonna comment on this video, but when I saw you're comment out of all the other stupid comments, it just pissed me off... what do you mean by these things arent real trucks? Are they fake trucks? What can a chevy or ford do that a tundra cant? The tundra is my favorite truck and I cant stand when people put them down and dont know anything about them. Can you honestly say that the majority of people but trucks for work these days? No! They're bought for pleasure.

  • @phaetegon4 meh, youtube arguments suck, so i'm not gonna start one. i'm just going to express myself. they can be actually used, because all of the tundra's i've seen have never gone off the road, even to pull over, or have never even had a grocery bag in the back lol.i'm not ragging on them, they just seem pointless. Some are bought for pleasure, especially tundra's for sure. if they could do what ford n gm could,or do it better, don't you think they would use them instead? but they can't lol.

  • Toyota Tundra's aren't bad, maybe Toyota needs a few more years to make the best ones cuz right now they are not making their best vehicles.

  • @gonehuntin018

why dont you look up how many north americans they employ. any one of the big three employs 3 times the north american workers. then dont forgett they sell less cars than toyota too. toyotas are 100% made in japan. 50% of those are also assembled in japan. the other 50% is only partially assembled by a small pitiful amount of north americans. look at the stats next time dummy. toyota only employs 30,000 americans. thats peanuts compaired to anyone of the big three.

  • @anthonyledo

Toyota also hires alot of employees in China. What do you say about that?

  • @anthonyledo

Toyota less about 70,000 employees globally. 30,000 in the US is already a good-sized chunk of their total.

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser

you must not be counting toyotas slaves as workers. i do suppose you total would make more sense. anyways the number is much higher than that, and 30k is peanuts. you need to go compare some stats.

anyone of the big three employs 3 times the amount of american workers as when compaired to toyota. you should also know that every one of the big three each sell less cars in the US than toyota.

  • @anthonyledo

Big 3 employees 3 times each that's why they can't pay those lazy ass overpaid workers and so they went under. Ford only staved it off barely by selling off everything except Mercury and Lincoln. If you want socialist cars, then Big 3 is the way to go. Hey, they get free money from the government, that's socialism.

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser

big three also employ about as many canadians as americans. we are not lazy. the government has rules the big three must follow. we are more civilized here. big three must have unions.

toyota has slaves. their operations are described by the United Nations as human trafficing.

lets get you straight. ford has never taken bailout. gm and chrysler for a first in history taken a bailout because they have a hard time competing with slave labour.

    toyota=gov subsidized.

  • @eatmydust"hahaha how old are you 12 .my dads got a tacoma that has 330000 miles on it and it still runs.the only thing ford has us beat on is the mpg by like 2 wow..oh yea my sister has a camery that has 160000..but i dont have to explain to you..go run your f150 off of a bluff for all i care...

  • fully boxed frame kbb? really whre do you get your misinformation, its an open c channel

  • The rear view camera is the favorite thing on the "truck" that's what japenese are only good for, making technology..... Not meant to compete with with amazing American trucks like the ford which invented the pickup trucks

  • toyota"s rule""i have a new one with v6 4.0 and its awsome as hell..and it was built in ky.were do you think your starter came from on ur f1shity came from..over seas..so shut up..

  • @secfan4life f150 will still be on the road after 200k miles, toyota will literally be rotting in a junk yard

  • @EatmyDust1311

    cool story bro.

  • The F-150 and Ram will smoke this. This truck just isn't that impressive, as with most Japanese cars..

  • the best truck of the warld

    1- ford f150

    2- chevy silverado-GMC

    3- dodge ram

    4- nissan titan

    5- toyota tundra

  • @Mr00fireman00

    wtf is the warld?

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser Japanese rules China

  • Cant wait till I get one!

  • no offense nice pickup but not the best if you want areal truck get a f150,chevy 1500,or the ebstf or me ram 1500

  • TOYOTA SUCKS! There have been so many bad reviews against this truck. The S.O.B. is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. If you really do your research, you will see that the frame is made of inferior metal. Look up "The Truth About Trucks". and you will see the real story.

  • This pick-up is one of my favorites! And it is the really-best for me!

  • This truck is garbage my dad has one and it feels very cheap and also has little power. my dads ford explorer could pull tundras across the parking lot all day

  • The toyota tundra!:... the official vehicle of the gay rodeo since 2000

  • at 1:36 the yellow mini copper is also in the sequoia video

  • this is supposed to be a truck? I guess when youre done with your prius you will want something else that sucks

  • it's un-American to buy American vehicles these days. Union workers at GM make $75/hr wages and benefits with just a high school diploma. What company can compete like that? Then there's no money left for innovations and research, that's why foreign cars put American cars to shame. Sad, really. Then when American car companies go broke they take our tax dollars to keep the cycle going. Screw that I'll buy Japanese, take your Obama Motors I mean GM truck.

  • Ugly thing with no resale value and all the elctronic problems you could want

  • @default99telecom

You are so dead wrong my friend...Especially with the resale value, there is not a SINGLE TRUCK in the world that can hold it's value like a toyota.

  • WOW!! What a payload In that junk!

  • I'll buy American when there are no more union mafias.

  • I'll buy Japanese when this coountry has become fully ran by them. until then, I will fight for AMERICAN!!!!!!!

  • i would never buy a tundra! it is ugly and it is a toyota (all their recalls and the people they killed)

  • chevy and ford and dodge all the way

  • toyotas hold their resale value for a reason. main reason being. when your socalled american/canadian/mexican trucks five years down the road have been in the shop for electrical problems and interior is cheap plastic is falling apart the toyota will be running as good as the day it was made. so wake the fuck up and buy a real truck

  • Wake up and realize you seem to be, based on your comments, about as blind and clueless as the rest of American's spending hard earned money on Japanese products that ultimately, along with our love affair with China imports and Korean products, is destroying this country from the inside out. Unfortunately, not enough people will figure it out until the damage is done.

  • you know what dip shit. you and all of your fucking red neck buddys need to wake the fuck up. you are a god damn hypocrate. what country is the computer that you are using to leave your dumbass coments. and bye the way take back you tv and most of the shit in you house. remember dodge is owned by fucking merceties benz. germany asshole and lets not forget toyotas are made in america. employing americans.

  • Stereotyping me as redneck because I point out a major flaw in America? Your answer to the problem is to point out how much of the stuff we have is foreign? lol, well I suppose that's the whole point is it not? Apparently you don't understand what manufacturing is, and what it means for the country, working and middle classes which make up majority of USA. Without the jobs, it will put most people in the slump. Typical brainwashed response, "Toyota is made in USA", please re-think your life

  • BTW, having a computer is a major necessary tool and convenience. It's impossible to buy a computer made in USA; parts for computers are made all over. The whole point is not to condemn buying ANYTHING foreign, it's to condemn EVERYTHING being purchased being foreign. Without any kind of manufacturing base in this country, it will continue to deteriorate over time. Buying everything foreign ultimately puts USA companies out of business, IF the companies have not already shipped off to China.

  • 1) Dodge is owned by Alfa Romeo not "merceties". (It's Mercedes)

    2) Please use some proper spelling and English. . .other wise your comment (yes, it has two m's not one) is easily dismissed by your apparent low level of education.

    3) I believe the whole point of ehsheeba's comments have been discussing the impact of buying EVERYTHING, not somethings foreign. If a country buys everything from foreign countries, then you become DEPENDANT on those countries, making the country weaker over time.

  • Yes, I acknowledge the fact that some Toyota's are ASSEMBLED here in the USA, but ultimately, it is a Japanese company. The money flow is going to end at the head of the company. . .back in Japan, not the US. Toyota assembling cars here in the US is only a gimmick basically to get people to say, "Hey, they make them here in America!" Which, I'll give it to them, it is smart business and has worked in their favor. You might want to do a little more research into this and general economics...

  • @JeremyFuhenstasser Who cares where the money goes? You should. . .its money leaving our economy and entering another one. One of the worst things to hurt the US economy is the fact that we have so much money exiting the country and not returning. We rely too heavily on imports rather than supporting our own nations companies that are the original backbone of this nation. If you are too ignorant to realize that, then I feel sorry for you. Money is not just a "digital number". . .

  • Also (and I'm doing this just to make sure you know for the future), here are some things for you to consider:

    "buddys" should be "buddies"

    "hypocrate" should be "hypocrite"

already pointed out "coments" is wrong

    "bye" should just be "by"

"you" should be "your" (thats excusable though as a typo)

and as I said before its "Mercedes"

People will take you a little more seriously if you can spell and use proper grammar, otherwise it looks like an uneducated "punk".

  • 1. alfa romeo isnt an american company. 2. i didnt know that this was a spelling bee. 3. you are a damn hypocrite, and a red neck that watches too much cnn. 4. if you look under the hood of your pos dodge you would see made in CANADA you seem to be able to read. the ones that are assembled in detroit their parts are made in CANADA. 5, I drive a toyota because it a very reliable truck. no electrical problems or balljoint problems like the dodge darango.

  • I never said Alfa Romeo was American, just pointing out you obviously don't keep up with the news. If I were a redneck why would I watch CNN, its ultra liberal. Rednecks are typically ultra conservative, so idk where that statement comes from. Who said anything about I drive a Dodge. . .I'm a Ford guy. You seem to only try and pull stuff out of thin air. . .not one of your comments has been based on any factual information. . .typical Toyota fanboy.

  • also proper grammar or not my point remains valid. sounds like you are one of those book smart people with no common sence. so get your head out of your colon and wake up. prety much all so called american companys out source to other countries. you know why? to save money. they dont give a damn about this country. just its money. so take you grammar and shove it up your ass up your ass if you can fit it next to your head.

  • The whole point of this argument is talking about foreign companies and how it affects America and American companies. Ford, Chevy, etc "outsourcing" to other countries to save money is so they can compete with the prices of the lower quality foreign manufactures which receive MASSIVE tax breaks in this country. So now, if it weren't for them, you would not see as much "outsourcing". Ultimately the dollar still is going to an American company which supports the American economy. . .not Asia's

  • List of Ford plants/factories in the US:

AutoAlliance Internation; Buffalo Stamping; Chicago Assem; Chicago Stamping; Cleveland Casting; Cleveland Engine(1&2); Dearborn Engine; Dearborn Stamping; Dearborn Truck; Ford Renaissance Global Logistics; Kansas City Assem; Kentucky Truck Assem; Lima Engine; Livonia Trans; Louisville Assem; Michigan Assem; New Model Programs Dev Center; Ohio Assem; Rawsonville Parts. . .

Crap, need another comment to finish. . .

  • ...Romeo Engine; Sharonville Trans; Twin Cities Assem; Van Dyke Trans; Walton Hills Stamping; Wayne Stamping & Assem; Woodhaven Forging; Woodhaven Stamping

Let's see, that is 28, yes 28 total factories for Ford here in the United States of America. You know how many there are for Toyota?...9 (2 are joint with Chevy and Subaru) Now...I guess Toyota is helping us out SOOOOOOOOO much more than Ford? I mean, I know you might not have the best education, but surely you know 9 is much less than 28?

  • Oh, and one of those "joint" plants (the one with Chevy) has gone under. And Toyota bailed when Chevy had their issues. Now Toyota wants US (as in you, me, AMERICA) to pay them for the workers they trained here. Sounds like a pretty good company to support doesn't it?

  • toyota isnt perfect but it is not the evil monster that they are made out to be. nobody told detroit to make a bunch of junk for all of those years. that is the reason that they are in trouble not because of socalled jap cars. you got to admit that some the the crap that detroit has spewed forth on the american roadway wear for lack of a better word, shit. they are only now atempting to inprove quality.

  • Uhhh. . .I believe that Ford has not been in trouble? They are actually dominating the market at the moment. You speak about all of this "junk" that Detroit has supposedly put out over the years, but I have never seen ANYTHING as big as this recent recall from Toyota. I guess their quality is not as "god like" as they and the Toyota fanboys make it out to be, eh? What's the most recent total on the recall? Last number I saw was up to 8.7 MILLION vehicles. Awesome quality there...

  • Thats because there are tons of Toyota's on the road. Ford may have invented the assembly line but Toyota has pretty much set the standard on how it is done today. All three of the American auto makers strive to emulate Toyota's manufacturing techniques. Also its not like Ford as you mention has a spot free record of safety issues. The Ford Pinto being the most notable where Ford actually decided not to fix the problem because they figured it would be cheaper to pay for the resulting deaths.

  • Well, Toyota has set the standard for how its done as cheap as possible for the company. But their "efficiency" has obviously lead to oversights in their quality. I will certainly not sit here and say that Ford, Chevy, or Dodge have never had issues, as they all have. My point was that I have never seen or heard of anything on the scale of this recent massive recall from Toyota. The main point originally argued though was just that in general American's are buying too many imported goods.

  • The defected pedals are made by CTS corporation and they are an American based company. I dont think it was an oversight on Toyotas part, more a cost cutting measure by CTS. The reason that Toyota is able to undercut the Big Three isnt because of their Japanese profits its because they dont hire Union Workers. The big three are all global companies as well and they are wildly successful overseas. I would love for the big three to bring more back to the US but im not betting on it.

  • No matter who makes a part that is used in a product, the end product and its safety, reliability, and proper functionality in its use sits on the main company's (Toyota) shoulders. It is their job to assess whether the product as a whole is good to be sold to the public. The recall is not all about the gas pedal issue either, but rather NUMEROUS issues that Toyota has decided to try and cover up over the recent past. I guess nothing Toyota does is wrong, there is always a scapegoat it seems.

  • Explain why they ingored the issue and continued building them for generations. Millions can NOT be built in just one year. Wake up! Besides it is NOT in the design of the pedal. It the programming idiot!

  • well acctually Toyota sold 8.97 million vehicles in 2008 alone across their fleet. As well it is obvious you have no knowledge whatsoever about the recall. It is fact that it is a pedal issue, they have been able to duplicate it. If you knew anything about the electronics in the car you would know its not an electronics issue there are multiple redundant fail-safe sensors that have to work in paralel or the engine will shut off or go into an idle. Also there is no evidence they ignored the issue

  • @Nickbusta29

toyota partially owns cts. the pedal is a toyota patent. furthermore the denso pedals have just as many reported cases. only cts is being blamed. either its both pedals or none at all. its more likely the toyota computers. but its too expensive for them to fix. so was covered up. first by blaming driver error, then floormats, now the pedals. people still dying after all fixes. shame on toyota for blaming american companies.
