I think i would love this phone. I wish it talked. What does this phone sound like when you get a call? I might get one but i think the price is crazy. I found it on amazon for 250 dolars. I think that is crazy.
Bluetooth is also very useful with Windows mobile phones to sync emails, files, notes, tasks etc. It's a lot better than connecting with USB cable or cradle.
Yes but in this world I think we're too digitized. I mean it's okay to be connected, to a point, but do we really need emails on our phones? Really that sort of technology was designed for businesses, not so much the average consumer. Also the phone was originally meant to make & answer calls, so I call this nostalgic modernism. LOL :)
That reminds me of some of the older/cheaper Nokia mobiles out there. Do any of these personal wi fi Skype phones have cameras in them? When you say the phone doesn't work with wi fi services that require internet authentication what do you mean? Is the battery user replaceable? What sort of battery life do you get out of the phone? If the phone is meant to be used with Wi Fi how come it has a USB port on it?
What the internet authentication means is this: If you have to sign into a page on a web browser in order to get the WiFi to work, the phone won't work, because there is no web browser to allow for this sort of thing on the phone itself. The battery is user replacable. Talk time is almost 4 hours, standby time is 30 hours. The reason why there is a USB port on the bottom of the phone is for charging & firmware updates.
Being the avid tech enthusiast that you are I am surprised you didn't go with a smartphone capable of more than just phone calls. I know it is cheaper, but that comes at the cost of no email, messaging, internet capability. Thats like a ferrari enthusiast driving around a ford taurus.
One can be an enthusiast of a smartphone, but back off on them, because of the cost. I plan to do a video on LG vs. IPEVO when it comes to cost (specifically citing the Verizon network).

@gallagher123123 Even over WiFi it sounds like a traditional cell phone. Skype on the PACmate would be better.

With FREE Wifi available at THOUSANDS of hotels, and available for a very low cost at MOST McDonald's stores - this is a GREAT gadget.
