Am I the only one that seems some styling cues and resemblance to the Dodge Viper here? When the company Daimler-Benz, bought Chrysler Corporation in 1998, I am some some brains/ideas moved between the two branches. The first thing that made me wonder was the exhaust tone, sounds more like an North American muscle car (Viper) than a European sports car (Insert Euro touring saloon here).

It not that their styling is similar because of the Chrysler-Mercedes relationship, but that the trype of car they are necessitates it.

If anything, I think the SLS looks a LOT like the new Z4 :/

The reason the SLS and the SLR perform about the same yet the SLS is less than half price is mostly simply due to the TRANSMISSION being behind the driver creating a 53:47 weight distribution unlike the SLR's 51:49. So, it makes braking, accelerating, and steering easier relieving MB from spending a lot of time on the aerodynamics and on forced induction. That's why the SLR looks so 'busy' and shorter.

because Mercedes don't do manual gearboxes. paddles do have their advantages though, the gearchanges are much quicker, they're easier to use than manual gearboxes and you dont have to take your hands of the wheel

Ferrari Stopped making manuals years ago, they dont get any shit for it like merc do. The 599 was listed with manual, but I bet you cant find one anywhere. You tried to order a 599 with a manual, the dealer wouldnt do it, talk you out of it, claim its going to cost this that and the other, legalities etc...

I trust you have read your mail. Maybe you do not understand gearboxes. Firstly there is the stick controlled manual gearbox, This around the world is regarded as "the manual" gearbox. (Ferrari have stopped making this type of gearbox forever) Next is the Auto box, sometimes operated by paddles in a manual fashion. Then like the auto, there is the Paddle shift manual Not the same as stick manual, and then the DCT as in the ferrari california. By the way its not advisable to be threatening ;-)

Nice, but looks too much like the Dodge viper. When they were testing this car, they used the viper body. obviously they just changed a few things around like the interior and exterior dimensions, suspension and doors, but it is still basically riding on the viper platform. Not a bad thing, I just thought it should look more like the past gull wing
