I was at this launch...I was completely surprised by how incredible an experience it was. Loud, the ground shakes...like being with God. "Godamn, what a rush!"
I was at this night launch. My dad works at thiokol..oh lord. The video is fantastic, but it doesn't do being there justice. The whole ground shakes, it's loud, it's bright and brilliant. It's almost a spiritual experience. I always get emotional watching the shuttle lift off and this was an awesome thing to witness. Can't wait for the next one.
Totally agree. the video dosent show that booster turning the night into day. truly amazing!! you could see it all the way from ogden i hear, probably further..
I was there at this launch. The video is great, but it doesn't do it justice. It's so much better being there in person. What a rush! The whole ground shakes like an earthquake. Plus I was much closer than wherever this video was taken from. Can't wait till they do another one at night. Yippee Kai yay!!!
That was some kind of an expensive test I'll bet. Silly, no, they have to make sure they work right before they get strapped onto a manned space vehicle.
Yup, it's better to blow up a few tests on the ground than lose priceless gear in the sky - a lot of new cutting edge technology that needs to take to the skies has no second; it's one go or it's gone (for at least a long while)
Tests like these are crucial, and worth every penny.
throw some cows n pigs in there let have a fucking bbq

@yamjam01 Why do you say that?

@yamjam01 hydrogen is the fuel meaning the only byproduct is water. It is cleaner than your hybrid

@PirateMcSandwich Not on this one. The solid booster (this test) uses aluminum powder as the fuel, with ammonium perchlorate as the oxidizer.
