well i have a new iphone but i had to give it to my younger brother and i went back to blackberry....the email speed of blackberry is unbeatable ! i get my emails instantly .... if your emails are not that important.....you can get a iphone or android.
i have a blackberry bold 9000 and an iphone 3gs, the blackberry is much louder than the iphone and the sound quality is much better but thats all really. I am not saying that the blackberry is rubbish because thats just untrue but the iphone wins for me due to the amount of apps available to make my life easier. If i was to carry two phones all the time then i would choose the bold and iphone but if i could only have one then i have to pick iphone.
The push email on my iphone works if the phone is on (just at the main menu) but when its in standby, it seems to only fetch the data like every 15 mins, even with push on. Can anyone help me with this?
Well everyone bring up great points. However, being the owner of both of these phones, I would have to go with the iPhone. There's is more functionality with the iPhone then the Blackberry. The Blackberry is being phased out (at least here in California) by the iPhone in business.
I use the 3GS jailbroken. I have more apps and actual resources for business with the open source side of the iPhone. Although not illegal, the jailbreak makes the iPhone unbeatable compared to the Blackberry.
Why compare a 3g spec iphone against a edge spec curve? Either way they are both pushed from servers. You cant compare the two vs functionality. Iphone killing blackberry I don't think so RIM will continue to dominate the coporate and business world. First of all a touchscreen device is not device business consumers want as a phone. Secondly business consumers want security and Blackberry data encrytption is second to none. Battery life is also better on a Blackberry.
The iphone is not a toy. It seriously kills the Blackberry in so many ways. There are just a few things (like having apps run in the background) that would make it so much better. If you jail brake it, you can have all that. Apple likes to keep control of their products so they don't allow a lot of things that they easily could if they wanted to.
Get the one you can afford, but let me tell you that IPhone has some some things I don't like, one of them is that you can't have more than one app running at the same time, also I see better email management on blackberry than iphone, not for nothing but RIM has more years in email for mobile business than Apple, but also you may like to know that iphone has more app available than BB, but that may change soon as Open GL will be supported in OS 5.0 in 2010.
But in the end, Iphone attractive than Blackberry, (but Blackberry is more solid) and it all depends on the plan you can afford, in my case, in my country, BB unlimited data plan costs nothing compared to Iphone's, that's why I choose Blackberry as my entry to smartphone world, and I do not regret it.
if you want a toy go with iphone, if your doing emails go with the blackberry. i have the 8900 and was thinking of "upgrading" to the iphone. bought one yesturday. set up my email accounts, then played around with them a bit. needless to say, i returned the iphone 3 hours later. cool phone for the apps and fun purposes. but i need a phone that has better email functions so im sticking with my BB
i agree. I had an iphone. I just got the blackberry today. Its so fucking slow. fuck a half a second on email. try watching youtube on blackberry.....hope your not busy for the next half hour
We all no iphone isa better phone but it sucks i got da 8900 n it goes hard email myspace facebook all dis extra shxt jus not touch screen but it looks super crisp
go into settings, then mail, contacts, calendars and go down it will probably say like check manually, and it should say fetch new data... tap it and turn on push, then scroll down and tap every 15 minutes in case push isn't working in ur location
That was pointless the blackberry was half a second quicker because it was sent to the blackberry before the apple in the contacts to send to section.
I have Sprint and I think I'm going to get the Curve for Christmas this year, but I would get the iPhone in a heartbeat if it was optional for sprint. AT&T sucks! I used to get dropped calls all the time, and their customer service is shit, to be honest. I just wish Sprint was little more popular....
wow i realy thought the iphone was bigger and better and now thinking the blackberry curve recieve messages faster thats a plus for me i need to get messages asap in case of emergencies etc. but at&t could've been a little generous with the screen size of the berry big disappontement but the berry feels so great in the hand popularitie wise iphone wis obvouilsy the iphone has 3g and theblackberry works on edge ive been told but thanks really appreictive. on iphone battery life sucks berry yehhhh
"realy thought the iphone was bigger and better and now thinking the blackberry curve recieve messages faster thats a plus for me i need to get messages asap in case of emergencies etc"
Are you serious dude? It was like ONE SECOND LATER! Do you microwave your Pop-Tarts too?? :D
i personally dont like the iphone i rather the black berry but i do want a bigger screen on da black beery but apples products never really excited me that much
I don't think he did. He said the iPhone was working off of the exchange server. This means that the GMAIL was sending the email, not receiving it. The push function has to be available on the receiving end.
Yes, just to clarify, what we did was we setup both the Blackberry Curve and the Apple 3G IPhone to the same email account. The email account was setup through the IPHone Exchange email setup on the IPhone and through the Blackberry Server email setup on the Blackberry device. We sent an email address to that account to see which device would receive that message first.
Neither device was set (scheduled) to check for messages..both devices were setup to PUSH email.
I was just wondering how quickly the IPhone would receive the same message as the Blackberry utilizing their new Exchange Server option. Looks like the Blackberry won, but just by a hair.
Atlzxcracker - I agree with Fred, you have no idea what you are talking about. How do you post that dumb of a response. You don't even know that the new 3G Iphone is equipped with Microsoft Exchange support which maintains an almost constant connection to the server...DUH....IDIOT!
lol push email is where it goes to all your electronics automatically dependin on how you set up each indivisual device they get them at different times
no fool, Push sends it directly from the server to your phone the instant you get an email. when PUSH IS OFF, then thats when you set up Fetch, which you can set to 15,30mins, hourly or manually. Do you even own an iPhone?

wtf is that BB pin???? please tell me, many people are happy for it, so what is it??
alkhars11 2 years ago
BB pin is a popular way of calling the Blackberry Messenger, it works adding the pin of the device of the friend or contact you want to add.
So, it is an instant message service that works only within the Blackberrys. Each blackberry in the woirld has an unique pin number.

Do you even know what PUSH email is? Didn't think so. StFU
Fred87nca 3 years ago
lol push email is where it goes to all your electronics automatically dependin on how you set up each indivisual device they get them at different times
atlzxcracker 3 years ago
no fool, Push sends it directly from the server to your phone the instant you get an email. when PUSH IS OFF, then thats when you set up Fetch, which you can set to 15,30mins, hourly or manually. Do you even own an iPhone?
Fred87nca 3 years ago
lol thats wat i said is it not?
and yes i bought the 1st one in july of 07 and upgraded to 3g today
and yes push is usually instant but you can set it up to check every so often its a battery saver...
atlzxcracker 3 years ago
It wouldnt be push if it had to check it. the point of push is that it saves battery life.
Fred87nca 3 years ago
Wow, you really have no idea what you're talking about, do you?
You are confusing PUSH with FETCH! If you have PUSH on, there's no need for FETCH!
