after gaining the confidence to continue his training through process of being run over by a steamroller, beats was attacked by a vicous youkai that poped up from friggin' nowhere which reduced him back to his meek self again. later he was hit by a bus......which by this point goes beyond the impossible since there are no buses in gensokyo
