  • I want the 46 seconds back that i lost watching this dumb clip.

  • fuck hipsters and yuppies and gentrification i want old nyc back!

  • yeah, what the hell happened to this place?Thompkins sq. pk. looked like fuckin shanty town in the 80's!Crime,drugs,in your face new york. You are missed. :(

  • old new york was great - you could catch a screwdriver in the head as you walked home. i sure do miss the good old days of being murdered, chopped up and left in a suitcase in some subway tunnel.

  • NYHC

  • taxi driver sucked! lets be honest!

  • So this is a video about a serious matter involving the loss of the soul of NYC... and you schmucks can't do anything but argue about whether or not these guys are racists? Fuck you.

  • i like taxi driver to

  • Fuck yeah Roger loves Taxi Driver!

  • Their music came all to Croatia!

  • Who are you to tell anyone what to Believe? talk a about it now! - - iuchat . com

  • I used to like AF in the early '90s. Too bad they got back together and put out a bunch of crappy Hot Topic records to cash in on the Warped Tour scene. Lame.

Their lyrics are so ridiculous and childish. All the lame slogans "Hardcore pride, blah, blah, blah..." What the fuck is anybody even talking about?? It's like bad hip hop. Just empty hype. Stupid material for the stupid masses= SELLOUTS.

Everything they've done after One Voice is SHITTY. And Vinnie can barely even play guitar. Haha...

  • @capmkrob you are a fucking idiot !

  • @capmkrob ,i like cause for alarm and liberty and justice a lot.the rest i care less.but when a band makes just one great album they have justified theit existence in my opinion.and i dont gove a fuck if they go for the money.i choose qualitiy.and those two albums i mentioned were that.the commerce afterwards i don buy.aint that hardcore haha

  • real talk

  • i hate it when people simply say something was better cose it is older...thats stupid ... the "age" of a certain music hs nothing to do with its quality. Abou AF's music ...i can say their old stuf is fantastic, bu new stuff aint bad at all either :D

  • Right on to the "pendulum" comment...though I have heard people say "Bring back 4-Deuce, how it was"...

Another issue is that with gentrification is a McDonalds & Starbucks on every corner...it cuts down on local flavor, and thats NYC or Madrid or Baghdad or Tokyo.

I love to travel & it is sickening the lack of local flavor in places. & I don't just mean food either. Used to be you gig away from home-1/2 the appeal is seeing new shit. You don't get that as much anymore, anywhere

  • Roger Merrit is hispanic?

  • @IrishDroog

    um duh

    his last name is Miret

  • Yeah, Cuban...and Freddie has a Columbian dad. So much for all the Nazi kids that worshiped Roger back in the day, huh? Jokes on them...suckaz!

  • @MFMoshDEK ok, I'm gonna have to call ur BS. There are whites and blacks that live in Cuba and Columbia. And yes, there are actually white power scenes in Cuba and Columbia. So, I'm not sure what ur talking about now. And as for the Nazis worshiping them back in the day.. maybe its b/c both Roger and Freddy supported the WP scene along w/ a lot of people from back then. Don't believe me? Ask any older head or google "Freddy Madball Skrewdriver shirt". Its not really even debatable dude, sorry!

  • @mlb1mhs Dude you might wanna do your research. Agnostic Front were non racist skinheads. Watch their 1980s documentary and the interviews they did. They were unfortunately grouped into the same category with Nazis, because like the 80's British scene, Nazi skins attended any show that had bands that they could sub-culturally relate to. I did Google your shirt reference and nothing came up. Also keep in mind that the early skrewdriver tunes were non political.

  • @mlb1mhs Oh yeah their song "united and strong" and their cover of "crucified" should tell you how not racist they are. I'm not trying to have an online "beef" I'm just an skinhead who gets tired of people misrepresenting American bands who have positively influenced my culture.

  • "You don't get that as much anymore, anywhere"

I agree; you can find stuff but it's much harder. The proliferaiton of damm travel 'guides' doesn't help. I'm in NYC for the first tim ever this week. My wife called me yesterday and said "What's it like?". My reply? "A bit like London". People wear the same shit as well!

  • As a father its a bit strange to hear him defending drug dealers, gangs etc...

  • To be fair I don't actually think that is what he is saying. As you say no one wants to live in a high crime area. What he is saying is the age old thing of the pendulum swinging too far. They cleaned it up a bit and things were looking up. Then as things were pacified and certain elements were gone (drug dealers and gangs) the area was primed for gentirfication.

  • yeah, you're so oldschool, back then everything was better... all the new stuff is hist... bla blaaa

  • It is all shit, all the new stuff is fucking crap. Simple as really.

  • why cant agnostic front sound like they used to when they first started???

  • @punkfan91 guess evolution works on all levels

  • @punkfan91 Cause for Alarm is their best album. Fucking brutal.

  • @abomb83 BOMBER ZEE.YEAH !

  • @punkfan91

cannot agree more. needs more victim in pain and less jocks

  • @punkfan91 noooo shit man.... those were the days...

  • @punkfan91 totaly

  • @punkfan91 your handle is mad creative

  • Have you ever worked with him? He is musician, songwriter, producer, technician and well known all over the world...

  • Having to loose touch with apart of your identity because some decided your corner of the world is kitsch and cool can leave a bitter taste. It dosn't solve crime it just means everyone of a lower income bracket have to move to another dump. I guess it's all ok for trust funders. To be frank I'd rather street gangs on my door steps than town councils extorting what I try to make of life.

  • well put my friend. the 'hood I grew up in, was never gentrified, they just tore the whole place down and are building high price condo's on the land..crazy..I agree w/ you Walrus..like I said, well put.

  • Roger is not the smartest dude in the world. But he and his band fuckin rock, just sayin

  • I like how he doesnt say AVENUE D. The hardest avenue up there. That shit is all project up with a fucking 24 hour chicken store on ST 4. That shit is never going to change. maybe ave A and B.

  • Gentrification is no solution to poverty, crime, and drugs - they just move. Like I did in 1985, out of NYC... never to return. I used to walk through alphabetland quite a bit at night, never had a prob (and I'm whiter than snow). In the late 70's early 80s to boot.

  • Maybe you don't know what gentrification is but its when middleclass and upper class people begin to move into a lower/working class neighborhood(to find "culture' and whatnot to make up for their own boring lives) and the latter are forced to move out because rent becomes unaffordable. It is basically a way of forcing folks from their homes. Yeah, support it 100%(sarcasm)

  • gimme a break. Ill remember that next time you want to visit NYC to strole around and eat Ice cream on the lower east side of Manhatten while you check out "the scene"

  • Sounds pretty good. If you got the money, do what you want.

    Bye bye, scum.

  • Same in Boston...last year was the first time in my life I ever saw what was on Mass Av south of Tremont St.

  • that's awesome i didnt know roger is hispanic.yeah racial tension sux i live here in missouri...

  • yup.. his mom lives here in S.FL. :)

  • Born in cuba.

  • god could roger be any cooler?

  • 100% Latino....Puro Latino!

  • You would think that being a grown man you be glad to see that people cared enough about your neighborhood to move in and clean it up.

I mean New york is a city in constant flux.

why would you want to go back to the crime ridden streets of the 70s and crack dealers of the 80s. Man I know it sucks to see where you grow up change but damn ny is alot better place today than 20 years ago.

  • I know that is strange, especially seeing how much of AF's work is bitching and moaning about all the "low lifes" and druggies and thieves.

  • Nah man, the low lifes he's talking about are the people in nyc that bring this city down. I agree with him 100% on gentrification. It's ruined my neighborhood in Brooklyn.

  • nice -- Roger is much more articulate and insightful than their last album would suggest.

  • victim in pain rules

  • VIVA CUBA!!!!! VIVA HC!!!!

  • Roger Miret... The GODFATHER of Hardcore... Vinny Stigma is the Underboss. NYHC4LIFE!!!

  • Roger is the best
