@kenzo5716 Bosch is a German manufacturer, a manufacturer (like most other German makers) that is VASTLY overrated, never as good as you expect, and ALWAYS overpriced!!! Jags are beautfiful, i agree!!!
Sounds like its running rich, had it just been started?
Its a shame you guys had side markers, oversize bumpers, side rubbing strips & small outer headlights, they do spoil the lines slightly.
Euro spec ones look purer in design, but I that goes for most euro cars there!
Its also Jaguars fault, they could have integrated the side markers into the bumpers(unless theres a height requirement?). Did your laws mean cars HAD to have side rubbing strips & couldnt have 7" headlights?
In late 1979 the XJ was facelifted again, and was known as the "Series III" (pronounced Series 3). Using the long-wheelbase version of the car, the XJ6 incorporated a subtle redesign by Pininfarina.
These numbers may help you;
Mark 1 - Series 1, 2 and 3 (1968-1992)
Series 1 (1968-1973)
Series 2 (1973-1979)
Series 3 (1979-1992)
The last Series III XJ with a six-cylinder engine was produced in 1987. Production of the Series III XJ continued until 1992 with the V12 engine.

Bosch electrics might suck, but those Brits sure knew how to design a beautiful car. Thanks for the video. I'm jealous!!

You'll have to check the year when your XJ was built, see the comment above.
