  • bhi an banna ceol go hiontach agus bhi glor go maith an neil

  • sounds to me like neil s best band

  • Just wonderful...

  • Quite purely and simply the best, and what live music is all about :-)))

  • Einfach nur Endgeil!!!

  • Amazing performance! :D Eventhough his tie kept getting in his way lol

  • I always get goosebumps when i hear "I wana love you but i get so blown away" Forever Neil Young!

  • Fucking get at it Neil, dig it rite up m8 yeha

  • THE BEST!

  • I was also at this concert in Berlin ,82.. best concert ever !!!

  • THIS JAM is the BEST~

  • Why didn't he just take the tie off?

  • YES!!THE BEST VERSION OF THIS AWE3SOME SONG!!!

  • Let's be honest here people.. The guitar solo isn't that great.. The singing is sometimes off key.. But why the hell have I listened to this song a million times? I guess that despite the above, this song just kicks ass!

  • @urbanfolkie The solo is good, if you're into "Dada" and other impressionistic stuff, buy you're right, it's not the parts, it's the total. Great song...great artist.

  • @urbanfolkie:

Neil Young was into new wave guitarists (Tom Verlaine etc.) at that time + also had a collaboration with DEVO, someone who was and is into new wave guitar playing like me finds this solo superb, believe me ! And these guitarists were often also influenced by Neil´s guitar work !

  • That would be MISTER LA LA 2 u please !!! TEAR 'em up JOOEE !!!

  • So jealous I wish I was there

  • I got to see him LIVE in ORLANDO doing this RIGHT AFTER CATCHING my X trying to get it on with a jerkoff named RAY ELORANTA-SORRY you2 NOT I CAME IN With a basebaLL BAT THAT ENDED THE FAITHLESSNESS SORRY Sharon Lahawn

  • Yeah, I was there that night...Just got to germany a few months before I went to the show. Still Can't remember how i got home that night. One of the best concerts I been to.

  • He is one of the best artists in the world!

  • Yeah. I saw him on this tour of germany

    Goldener Oktober in Wiesbaden

King Crimson, Jethro Tull and then this bloke.

Crowd was half German anarchists, half US soldiers. Fucking weird.

Neil played a 3 hour set. Fuck me, was he good.

  • I want to love you but I get so blown away....High...Hhmmm...that's what that means...

    Fabulous!

  • What the hell has happened to our kids ? When I hear raw lyrics and masters like this and see all the mainstream crap out now, i just gotta say what the fuck has happened to rock ?

  • WOW! THE FANS GOT THEIR MONEYS WORTH THAT NIGHT AND THEN SOME.

  • Que de souvenirs... Neil Young : the last real musician, the last honnest man of the rock, the only one... I like, i love it! (concert à Lille en 1979...)

  • Bruce Palmer - may he rest in peace.

  • Immense. So awesome.

  • Just awesome!!!

  • With the accusations of Bruces substance abuse on this tour, there certainly wasn't any evidence of that here. The man was brilliantly superb! Him and Ralph were the perfect rythym section for Neil!

  • great performance. he sure looks younger..

  • these notes are just so honest.... I love his guitar style...it is just pure feelings.

  • you can tell its in Berlin, too, all of them sitting down and not doing anything...lol

  • You will never see it like this again.

  • @Dave29671 Yeah I will. As a matter of fact, I'm watching it for the second time right now. Then I'll watch it one more time, just in honor of Hurricane Irene. And I bet before the weekend's over, I'll watch it a couple more times. You are wrong, wrong, wrong!

  • Excellent!!!

  • A bit of magical nostalgic brilliance !!

  • Absolutely The Greatest.......

  • Bruce Palmer, may he rest in peace.

  • I saw the same tour in Stadio dei Pini, Viareggio, Italy 11 September 1982

    big moment.....

  • Just the best!

  • Brilliant stuff.......

  • Put a tie on, and burn down the house....

  • By far the greatest version of this song! I bet he never wore another tie agian after this concert.

  • Are certain melodic seams (as in seams of coal or gold) richer than others? "Runaway" by Del Shannon and "Like a Hurricane" by Neil Young are both in A minor (Am). Both follow an ascending, descending, ascending resolution that never truly resolves itself.

"Music is the answer to the mystery of life. It is the most profound of all the arts; it expresses the deepest thoughts of life and being; a simple language which nonetheless cannot be translated." - Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)

  • I get the feeling that Neil Young is not a man you would want to annoy.

  • I never realized Kevin Bacon was such a great guitarist!

  • Best riff in rock!

  • La meilleure version de Like in hurricane............... Enorme !

  • magic memory watching this after mushrooms smoking a joint of grass and hash oil.

  • Note for note, Neil drives this version home. A real intense mood throughout, showcasing Neil's vituosity as both singer, player, songwriter.. Awesome through and through !!

  • Magic happened this night....will probably never happen this good again.

  • There will never be another video close to this....ever!!

  • Best singer/songrighter of all time!

  • What a classic !!

  • Thanks for the video. My favorite Neil Young tune, what an amazing performance.

  • Great Song, legendary Young....

I have 1 beef.....man are those Berliners ever stiff.....how could you just "sit there" when Neil playing like that.....hope they have lightened up a bit since 82'

  • I worked i a video store in the early 1990s, and used to pop this in every night after I closed and while I put everything to bed. Twenty years, I've been waiting to hear this version (introduced me to this song, and several other), and I found it tonight. Next up: Sample and Hold, if it's on here.

  • This could never happen again.

  • Enjoy this, you may never see this again. This is Neil Young at his best.

  • Hahaha, that damn tie 3:35

  • The very fact that only 4.275 people have seen this video, tells what huge hidden treasure this Berlin 1982 version from Neil really is. I've loved it from the moment I bought the video. I would have loved to turn back time and be at this concert. I am just a dreamer, ..

  • I have tis DVD and it is the best dvd I own. Buy this "In Berlin" dvd and live happily ever after.

  • This is the best version ever.

  • This was a GREAT live show. Get the DVD! Cinnamon Girl was amazing. Looking for it here....

  • The video In Berlin was on HBO In 1982 and I was absolutely "blown away" myself by this concert! Also, the Who's farewell tour as I recall was on HBO also. It rocked as well. I need to find a video of it as well.

  • thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for posting this, been searching for it for years, had it on vhs tape back in the 80's and lost it to deterioration. Without doubt the best version of Hurricane ever recorded. Saw him in concert in Germany 1982 or 83 with the Sembach gang.

Where are you Jim ? Machinist with the 601st CRS. Do you remember Mark ?

    Great times. Awesome concert.

Thanks again VelanneSanity6511, you made my evening.

  • @striper62

completely agree mate.my favourite version also.brouht up on this shit.

seems to be a bit too high pitched though.

    maybe too fast?maybe my server?

either way, a true master at work

  • its just doesnt get any better than this

  • what power. what passion. why do I love this man.

  • The greatest version of this song ever. The solo break at the end is godly and I love how Bruce ups the tempo on this version with his bass playing ultimately pushing Neil into a frenzy.

  • @BarstoolBlues33 Agreed. Fantastic, energised performance. Have to say though, that one of the things pushing Neil into a frenzy is the struggle he's having with that fucking tie! You can feel his frustration!

  • @BarstoolBlues33 'The greatest version of this song ever' - a bold statement. Having listened to it all I can say is YES,YES, YES! You're totally right!

  • Thanks for bringing this version to Youtube! I have the concert on video, and this version of Like a Hurricane is great, Neil is making love to his guitar!

  • I attended this concert. Another time, another world. Simply great! This concert was scheduled just for one day. Neil Young extended for another concert following night - free of entrance! He was obviously "in the mood". I will never forget.

  • @kapalakuka Awsome. You are one lucky person to have gotten to see this concert. I watched it on HBO. Fantastic concert.

  • ahhhhhh!

  • the best! brilliant bass line by Bruce Palmer

  • @silvanski He really smacks that pocket like a baby's ass.

  • beyond doubt best version of this classic, lucky germans!!

  • this is the best

  • This economical version is much shorter than Young's usual live version, and more effective for that. He followed this song with a torrid performance of Into the Black.

  • The best version of this song ever - the solos are magical... actually its very like Comfortably Numb...

  • The best version of this song ever - the solos are magical...
