  • I like her but I wouldn't hire her.

  • What is one of the strangest thing you came across while processing a body?

  • @ShamonWhoo One of the best books I have ever read regarding the death industry in general was Death's Acre by Dr. Bill Bass. It discusses how the infamous Body Farm was created.

  • Hey there! I love your videos. I have been contemplating going to mortuary school for about seven years now. The closest one to me is Mid-America in Indiana. Your videos have really gave me a lot of enlightenment, and I just wanted to say thank you.

  • 'Sorry U Died' LMAO

  • how did i end up here?

  • kkkkkkkkkkk

  • Oh lord. I was doing my standard messing around, listening to music when I stumble upon THIS...

    awesome =D

  • but that IS how mortitions are made..

    and everyone else.. ;)

  • SHES WEIRD

  • @MrLabrinth12 and.. ?

  • This is absolutely fantastic! I saw one of your videos on Neatorama and am in the process of watching the others. I personally respect the fact that you are talking about death and what happens after we die; it's something people should want to be comfortable with, at least a little bit. Like my Aunt and I always say, 'No one gets out alive.'

  • At 1:10 is that you in the bottom row with bangs? Or on the far left with bangs?

  • great

  • stai fori de testa

  • are you an atheist

  • Make-up tips from the dead! ::jumps up and down:: Like how they shave the face for the make- application, if waxing would be a bad idea, and such!

  • You make me happy !!!

  • JAJAJAJAJAJ :D

  • i want to be a mortician <3

  • Five minutes vid and I laughed and I had fun and I learned something new! (not just talking about the chocolate cake, btw). So I'd say... pretty damn nice vid!

  • I hope you had a good holiday season, and can't wait for more videos!!

  • That's a pretty hawt mortician, I would.

  • @thlaylia I def wouldn't :\

  • tell us all about explosive casket syndrome in your next video hehe

  • @TheUnknownManInBlack *exploding*

  • Do you have any good book recommendations about death/dying other than Stiff by Mary Roach? (which I LOVED btw)

  • what do you know about Indonesian corpse walking?

  • Here's a question, what do you think of people who are obsessed with death and also necrophiliacs?

  • GALERA DA UMA OLHADA EM ( APAIXONADA SIM TABACUDA NÃO )

  • I dont know why i find this video fascinating:0

    subbed!!(:

  • i would really love to talk to you! after watching your videos i feel more comfortable about going to mortuary science school. still doesnt help that we cant talk, i really would love to ask you questions that the local funeral embalmers/directors would not take the time nor interest in answering. im 26 yr old female in boondox tennessee so please dont think im some obsessed stalker fan lol. i take this super serious and i think u can really help me!

  • Do you think keeping an urn of a family member in your home is disrespectful and/or creepy? My bf finds the idea both selfish and repulsive to keep an urn of someone or a pet in your home on a shelf as an 'ornament'. I tried to explain to him why people do it, but he just views it as selfishness. I think it's just a difference in culture that is not right or wrong compared to another. What is your opinion?

  • Subbed :)

  • Hey, you mentioned 'natural burial.' What exactly is that? I would like to be just thrown into the ground, no coffin, no alteration, but I was under the impression that this was illegal. Is it, or no? o.O

In a perfect world, I'd like to just be taken out into the forest and left out in the sun. Whatever wants to come eat me can. :D Which I'm even more sure is illegal. Eh.

  • more episodes please!

  • look site opinion-maker org/2011/01/british-intelligence-reports/

  • Love the videos! May I ask.... You said in Ep 2 you would rather be buried than creamated. Well you said "Courps, hole, ground, dump"!! Personally I dont like the idea of rotting away in the ground or becoming "worm food" but you obviously know more about this than me so i'd be intrested in knowing your reasons for this choice. A fan, Denise.

  • Caitlin you have a great sense of humour and I love your videos, . Please keep them coming !!!

  • Friggin' coolest person ever.

#OpBlackout no será silenciada #Anonymous prevalecerá

  • о чем эта дура говорит

  • COOL WORK!

  • Hey, I'm a student in mortuary school and I just discovered your videos. I really enjoy how you show that this is an industry where it is best to find humor in death because the job can really be stressful. Thanks so much for uploading! It is a fun way to review!

  • Just found your channel. I love you vids, really interesing! Now I just have to ask: did you enjoy the show Six Feet Under? Hoping on an answer.

  • I seen you had cremated your kitty in a earlier episode. ( sorry by the way ) I was wondering. When people have their pets cremated, do they take it to the same place as one would take humans to? I know for a certain fact that none of the vets around my area in Arkansas have a crematory in the back for fido or fluffy.

  • Cool work!

  • i need to sleep with u !^^ come on baby !

  • u remind m sooo much of that punk girl from ncis

  • no entiendo nada de nada

  • 123456789....100

  • Are all morticians goths?

  • :)

  • Have you ever had any creepy/haunted experiences?

  • boreing like get a life this is sooooo stupid!!!!!

  • CUANDO APRENDAS ESPAÑOL ME SUSCRIBO XD

  • boooorrrrriiiiiiiinnnnngggg

  • I feel bad that somebody has to have such an awful job. That person probably dropped out because it sucks so much asshole!

"It's hard" yea sure, and so is my dick for you.

  • Could anybody get their body frozen to be saved for future ressurection? (if it ever becomes possible, which i honestly dont see happening xD)

  • I haven't gotten this answer from any of the morticians that I've asked except "we dispose of it properly"...my question is: what happens to the blood from corpses after it is drained?

    Gruesome minds want to know!

  • @kidzazou It goes down the drain into the sewer system.

  • @dsbassoon Thanks, I don't know why the morticians around here thought it was such a big secret.

  • you know who linetrap is? you

    you are linetrap

  • You mentioned in a former video a "director of death and society". Would one have to go to a specialised college to study death in more general terms than being a mortician?

And what sort of options does one in the death industry have in terms of work and the academic needs for such?

  • poxa

  • make more videos!

  • Im guessing you are single. BAAAAHAHAHA

  • she is very poor

  • shit

  • Jesus approves of this message!

  • Wheeeeee, dead bodies!!!

I would totally say that on a daily basis...

  • i love the show and i love the comments

especially the person who made the grease fire comment!!

    just awesome :)

  • Holy shit, Bombshell Mcgee.

  • Happy holidays! I hope everyone has a great Holiday this December 25th! May Holiday Clause present you with many gifts!

  • And then I fell in olve

  • Can not be as hard as deep frying a turkey? Why not deep fry stiffs?

  • I love your outfit!

Also, I love the show! Very informative.

    PLEASE KEEP MAKING EPISODES.

    :) -3 I wanna meet you someday. :D

  • My one thought on the 'graininess' of the cake with fake remains in it is to super grind the remains even more with a mortar and pestle. It'd be a lot of work to get it fine enough, but, if someone was ultra-serious about doing this, it'd create a better end product.

  • ummmm....you're awesome. kthnx bye

  • omg !

  • Amazing, knowledgeable, astoundingly beautiful and bubbly. Death himself could not touch such an extravagant soul.

  • You SOOO rock. :)

  • You mentioned home burials, something I'm interested in. What are the laws and restrictions regarding that? It probably varies from place to place, but where you live, what do you have to do in order to keep a body in your home for a viewing, funeral, and then burial on your property?

  • What kind of contact does the Mortician have with the family? Do you just deal with the body, or more of a whole funeral planning, etc?

Basically, what exactly is your job description?

ps. this is such a wonderful series and your sense of humor is so endearing- in a death-jokes-are-creepy way!

  • lol lol lol lol lol there are some beautiful videos of children where they are all dressed up etc but very dead sorry i know that sound weird but it shows the love for that child even in death

  • im viewer 6,666

  • These videos always cheer me up! Lol!

  • TATT FACE!

  • I am on my way to graduating mortuary school by this coming spring. I am very interested in being apart of home funerals, how do you make that into a career? The literature I have read about the topic makes it seem that their goal is to get further away from the funeral director.

  • you seriously baked (and ate) an ash cake!!

    you're my hero :D

  • I heard that there are now Liquefaction processes available as an alternative to cremation, could you please explain the process involved?

  • @Chiefenstien It is known as resomation or alkaline hydrolysis and it is basically getting liquified by lye. It seems it is the next big thing since it is greener but there is a lot of debate (as there was when cremation came about.) With time I believe it will be a huge hit!

  • I love these videos! So informative and interesting

  • WEEEEE BODIES!

  • You actually baked a "ashes" cake, you're my hero!

  • The ALTERNATIVE death industry. Wow.

  • what is the number one grossest thing that you personally have come across as a mortician?

i really enjoy your chipper attitude and sense of fun.

  • I live now for ur videos please never stop ur amazing

  • I love these videos!!! I hear people say, "I want to be buried with an item, like a shoe or something is that legal? Or can you be buried in a casket with someone else?

  • I hear crazy stories about people still alive when they're being examined for causes of death how often if at all does that happen...ps I love u!

  • Question about cremation: When someone dies and the family has a viewing, then that person is cremated, what happens to the coffin? Does it get burned with the person? Thrown away? I know you can't re-sell them or re-use them (any why not, by the way, it's not like the next dead person is going to catch an illness, right?), so what do they do with it?

  • 'faux remains'? that was disappointing...i plan on living forever by raising my grandchildren in my image ;)

  • Gosh, am I the only one who gets really excited whenever I see a new episode on my list?

  • Aw, I want to look into mortuary science college, but I already have a degree in Biology. Do those classes transfer?

  • Are the lips of corpses really sewn shut so they won't be wide open during the wake?

  • @LatishaJoneJackson Not the lips themselves, but a lot of morticians will sew up the jaw (mandible, etc). There are definitely more natural ways to go about it, though.

  • @OrderoftheGoodDeath @LatishaJoneJackson Actually, some funeral parlours still sew lips shut, while the morticians assistant holds the jaw shut the mortician will sew peel out the lips and sew them together further back up towards your teeth, then fold the lips back over and position them to look natural.

  • You are awesome. Moaaarrrrrrrr!!!!

  • can you explain how a flower guy sees dead bodies?

  • @kennyneopets You'd be surprised at what people in and around the death industry see.

  • Can i be your apprentice/assistant like in two years?

  • Question: I watched a "homicide detective" show where the body was completely sealed and buried, and eventually the organic matter in the body became liquefied. Does this actually happen, or was it just a fictional story device? If it does happen, what do you do with the liquefied remains for the ceremony for either a burial or cremation?

  • Awesome video! I'm DYING of laughter! LOL mwahahahaha!

Question - How many people die (relatively) in large cities like Los Angeles each day? or How many bodies/people do you process a day or week?

    Love this show!!!

  • How do you donate your body "to science"?

  • i can't believe you actually ate that

  • Great episode Caitlin.

  • Question: I know that human taxidermy is illegal in the US (excluding the related idea of plasticized remains in museums, like the Bodies exhibit). But I'd like to know more about the history of human taxidermy, as in the preservation, skin and all, of human remains--assuming there is one--and I'm way too lazy to google it when I could just ask you and possibly end up with a charming romp through the annals of human grotesquerie.

  • Can cremating a severely overweight person cause a grease fire in the furnace?

  • @crimsonprinny That's a good question!

  • Why don't you want to be cremated?

  • Did you learn anything in mortuary school which still surprises you in your career? Or something you wish they had taught you?

  • Oh, no she didn't.

  • Hi! I got to mortuary school in Boston, How can I get into the alternative burial "scene"?? I love the idea of green burials, but thats not really a big thing out here :(

  • @vdubaful Fine or NEI???

  • @dd1dd2dd3dd4 NEI all the way, Fine sucks!

  • @vdubaful YES!!!! I just graduated in May :)

  • @dd1dd2dd3dd4 Haha I probly Know you!

  • @vdubaful I second this question. I'd really like to know more about the alternative death industry and what options are available if you want your remains to be handled in an environmentally friendly way. I'm assuming being left in the woods for some hungry animals to go to town is not legal.

  • Funfetti!

    Q. What's your least favourite part about being a mortician?

  • What's the strangest muscular reaction you've ever witnessed a body go through while you were working on them? A medical student friend of mine was working on a brain-dead patient and experienced the "Lazarus Effect", which freaked her out.

  • Hi! Can you please talk a bit more about the alternative death industry? I personally would prefer to rot when I go, but didn't even know it was possible to do so in this day and age. I live in NY, do different states have different laws? Thanks!

  • You're so talented - I never thought I'd be so interested in mortuary science!

  • I hereby JUDGE YOU!

Funny, Pretty, and ate a cake with faux-mains in it!

    Balif?

    The Verdict is: You rock!

  • how long could a zombie apocalypse last? with the zombies decomposing at a normal rate?
