My 8800GT 512MB has no fan, and only an aftermarket cooler, It never Goes above 130F On Maximum load, even if i have it strained for a few hours. That's ( no Fan ) lol. This card is like 4 years old
@CoolConejo 8800GT's are Known to go above 190F with regular stock Cooling system. It used to idle around 120 - 130. Now it idles at around 95-98F Only going to 130 On Maximum load For a few hours. But rarely does it ever surpass it.
I'm not sure what you're talking about Codrul111. I'm running an 8800 GTX and I can't hear it's fan and it's running pretty cool. And I don't have water cooling. Besides, the PC industry (well Nvidia anyways) is doing something about it, by shrinking their process size.
amd 6400+ 3.41ghz,2 gigs ati/ocz 6400 memory, ati hd 3870 x2 crossfire x,2 raptors in raid 0, 19" nec monitor, x-fi sound card, asus m2R32-mvp, and playin crysis in ultra real mode like the way its meant to be played and in vids!!
Who gives a shit about the noise....!? I can't afford anything like that anyway, I can't even afford to get a new case with some new fans...so you know what I did? I have a 14" fan (Like the kind used to cool a room or something) sucking air out of the side of my case, yes, the side of the case is off...completely, and permanently.
Sounds like a bloody hair dryer!! I'll stick with my quiet ultra thanks, and before you all tell me how expencive it was, I got it for only 50 AUS dollars more than the stock GTX.

@NOXXism it appears to be an ASUS re-badged Thermaltake Tide Water cooler. They're shit btw.

standard 8800GTX was so silent, why would they do this?
I hope my next GPU won't be as noisy as my 5870 Vapor-X rev2. I can hear it, thus it's too loud. xD

I wear headphones, but my computer is very quiet. I want to get another heatsink for my cpu because it covers one of the RAM slots...

hmm its alot less loud then my fan... the high settign is abb as loud as mine when im yust using the interwebz
(i have a radeon 2900gt) and its probably alot cooler too(68 degrees idle and 95 O.o degrees stressed)
o and dont forget this thing is not in a case yet...that would dampen alot of the noise

That is maybe noisy, but you do not wanna hear my computer!

Its not the GFX cards that are making the noise, just the coolers... Liquid cooling = Quieter
