@screaming4silence325 no, you are misinformed. Triggers only take the place of a microphone. The trigger is hooked up to a drum module which has preset effects and sounds. The trigger itself then placed on the hoop of the bass drum. The drum module is hooked up to PA speakers and now your trigger is set up.

All it does is produce a desired sample instead of the natural bass drum sound.

@screaming4silence325 The only thing about triggers that degrades peoples view on them is the fact the amount of force you hit the triggered drum with doesn't phase the volume of the drum because it has only one preset that is "triggered" whenever it senses the vibration of the head. Hence, why most people usually only use them for the kick drum.
