I don't think that I am going to put them into the ground, not this year at least. The ground here is almost 100% sand, so it would take lots of topsoil and organic matter to make a hops friendly growing environment. By the time next year's growing season rolls around, I will have prepped the ground and transplanted them.

Btw, my Cascades have been slow starters too.
