2. The moment he saw the hybrids. He gasped. Multiple times. Despite having seen them before. :p

3. That's not the point to SC. In SC, there were multiple heroes, multiple protagonists, none of them were the "main" protagonist to show several different people fighting for several different reasons, all united by the same cause.

4. The original SC was about human decision, which was interesting. Prophecy is a boring cop-out.

Just because the plot in WoL is not as tragic does not mean there's less heroes, interactions and "human decision" involved.

2: He gasped because he was disgusted by the hybrids, they are unnatural to him. In the first game they were in tanks, in WoL, Maar was kinda attacking him...

3: SC2 has three games. They each have equal significance and will feature different protagonists. WoL is just the Terran part.

4: How do you want them to end it? Oh life goes on? They are trying to create an epic climax...the impending apocalypse is a good story element for that.

@StarSpawn06 Where did Duran get hinted at? He was a major plot element in the previous games and nobody mentions his name even once. I didn't say that Zeratul "gasped like a little girl" in BW, I said he "gasped like a little girl" in WoL. Name any character in WoL that actually developed in any meaningful way aside from Raynor & Kerrigan.. Debatable, they didn't even develop. The campaign is a crappy love tale.

Go play the campaign again before rebuttling to a complaint, sir. ;)

3. Raynor is the hero in WoL so of course he gets the most screen time. If the other characters' developments are not up to your standards, go write for Blizzard.

I love Starcraft. I have always loved Starcraft.. But the Starcraft that I knew and loved died when the writers dropped the ball on the entire franchise by taking the complex narrative of human decisions and turned it into a cheesy, downright awful love story between just two of the many rich characters in the universe. The story is dead. The multiplayer is still fun. Enjoy it as you will.

@mojakravicagaming Terrans? Terrans are pawns. Duran is the closest thing to a "threatening evil terran" in the game and he even admits that he "serves a greater power" in what is arguably one of the best speeches in gaming ever. Duran isn't even mentioned or hinted at in Starcraft II; he vanished entirely. On top of this, Zeratul was the one that stumbled on Duran's attempts to finish the Hybrids started ages ago by the race that crafted the Zerg and Protoss.. Yet here he is. Gasping as though

Ahh.. Brings back memories of Tassadar's sacrifice having serious meaning, Zeratul being cunning and sounding like a badass, and Kerrigan managing to betray everyone like.. What.. 2-3 times? Such a great story, the aesthetics were bang-on, the environment was dark, the units looked good..

..Then cue Starcraft II, Kerrigan with high heels and Zeratul gasping like a little girl at anything and everything.

R.I.P. Starcraft.

@Brovo200 I completely agree, especially about Zeratul. In Starcraft I he was uber cool. And despite the fact that the new protoss campaign hasn't yet been released he changed too much (during his flashbacks in Ihan crystal).

I just hope he will still be owning when the last Starcraft II expansion will be released.

(However I fear it will be similar to protoss campaign in sc1 when "everyone unite to kill someone", in sc1 bad guys were zerg, and this time there are hybrids...)

@PainAkatssuki Actually, the main villains in SC2 are hybrids that are claimed to be made by humans. And if you refer to the SC1 story, you will notice that in it, it's being claimed that humans are making zerg. So all this time, the main villains are terrans.

The Sc2 theme does include like, remade blueprints for this one. :) A good thing with the Sc2 theme, is that it pretty much reflects all the science fiction culture of the last three decades. To me theres,a clear reference to the Star Wars opening theme when those yellow warp strips appear with the prologue.. Like a hidden thank you note from Blizzard or something.. ;)
